BED BUGS and poor customer service! We checked in and saw bed bugs and stains on the sheets. We immediately informed Danielle at the front desk and showed her pictures of the bed bugs. She was unable to get us another room in the hotel but was helpful is getting us a room at a nearby hotel. She also said the hotel would refund our money. Now Aiden, the Asst Manager, says he will NOT refund our money and was very rude on the phone. Poor service and BED BUGS is a horrible way to run a hotel! read more

This hotel was the epitome on an okay hotel off a highway. It was clean and efficient, with breakfast that wasn't downright horrible, but also wasn't all that good. The sinks were in the rooms, but outside the bathroom, the showers did the job and the amenities lacked any sort of interesting smell or brand. The service was fine, but not overly extended in any way, and the location was also just totally okay. Nothing about this stay was even good, and nothing about this stay could be characterized as bad for a select service hotel off a highway. If you are looking for luxury or premium services turn elsewhere. If you're looking for a clean place to stay, this is good. read more

Pros: Nick-amazing! Showed up and restaurant was about to close-his response-"if you need anything let me know and I'll whip something up." That is above and beyond service. Maintenance staff super nice and helpful! Cons: 1) bed-hard as the floor-trouble sleeping-sore hips! 2) Morning front desk staff-when I say I was searching everywhere for my rate and would be nice for app to show how much I'm paying with taxes and fees after check in-response is not to be argumentative stating that you're the lowest priced hotel in the area and standard for hotels to charge deposit (amount should be told at check in). I just wanted to know how much I'd be paying if all is well and how much of a deposit I was charged. 3) Elliptical was out of order in fitness center and not much ventilation in the fitness center. General impression: cleanliness passable-has signs of an aging hotel, such as brown spots in the tub and corners of the room. Mattress had a couple hairs in it. There is a weird shower door that didn't actually keep the bathroom floor dry! Someone previously mentioned water was dirty-that's been resolved (see picture). read more

Chose to stay at this hotel because of the location, very close to a golf event we were in town for. As a bonus, very close to Saratoga Casino and so many great restaurants. Right of the expressway. Large free parking lot, well lit. We arrived later on in the evening and were greeted by very friendly accommodating check in staff. He gave us welcome bags with snacks and water bottles. Fresh coffee and tea available 24/7. Modern spacious lobby with lots of tables, chairs and couches to relax at. Room was a good size with all the normal amenities, beds very comfortable. I was impressed with their free breakfast, lots of options. Fresh fruit, yogurt and cereal. Hot items too, potatoes were delicious. To go bags available, grab the granola bars and snacks. If you don't see something ask... they are super helpful. Small hotel bar area, sat here for some amazing cocktails and beer. Bartender gave us great recommendations on where to go for dinner. We also took drinks to our room, they can supply wine and beer openers if needed. Walking distance to a few great restaurants, Bentley Tavern was fun, lots of ice cold beer, 2 sided fireplace and a patio. Swimming pool and a fitness room on site. Both were being used during our visit. Overall a great place to stay and feel at home while being on the road. read more

Great location right from the freeway. The check in is part of the Cafe, so the staff is doing double duty and we had to wait because he's serving the customer of the cafe. He's very nice and apologetic for the wait.. super friendly. The room is very spacious with big sofa. There's a counter for coffee and fridge. There's a nice size of desk. I really don't like the bathroom setting. The sink is outside separated from the shower. It's really annoying. The heater made a really loud noise. The shower is standing style. The water pallets are great because it's not hard on you. The coffee is from Seattle Best. Really good. This morning there's no hot water for tea but the staff provided me with hot water. There's a nice selections of tea and coffee available. Gym has nice collection of weights. Two treadmills and an elliptical machine. There are plenty of clean towels, water, hand sanitizer, scale, and a mat. It is open 24/7. There's swimming pool next to it. Breakfast is awesome. Fresh fruits : cantaloupes, honey dew, strawberries, blueberries. The strawberries are not hulled so you need to take the green part out. Cereals: kashi, raisin bran, rice chex for gluten free. There are also yogurt, several kinds of milk, fresh juice. The pancake isn't made from an automatic machine. The eggs are free range. There are a lot of boiled eggs. The peanut butter is skippy and jelly isn't in the tiny plastic pack. All of the plates and silverware are not disposable so that tells you the quality of this hotel. The roasted potato is my favorite. It has five different kinds of roots seasoned with rosemary and thyme. The seasoning is perfect and not overpowering. It's very crispy and not greasy. I can nibble it all morning. The toaster is the rotating style that's enough to warm up the bread and bagel and not burning it. Bread: wheat bread, sour dough (from local bakery). Both are soft after a nice warm up. The oatmeal is steel cut kind with toppings to select. You should get the zucchini bread. Very moist, sweet, and delicious. Very friendly kitchen staff. The cafe is open 24/7. There's lava cake and cookies ($4 for a cookie). You can buy Kashi granola bars, Kellog Nutrigrains, or some candy bars. read more

When you're in Malta, you don't have many choices for fine hotels. Hyatt Place is a great place to stay especially since it is conveniently located right off the freeway and nearby our local office. Some of the other things I like about this place: --Free breakfast includes cereal, french toast, oatmeal, toast, bagels, fruit, and lots of coffee, milk, and juices. --Nice sized rooms with sitting area. --Decent bedding with good thread-count sheets. --Soft water! --Plenty of towels --Lots of outlets to plug Here are a list of things that could use improvements: --The free breakfast is very limited in hot choices. No meats like bacon, sausage, or omelettes. No danish or any kinds of pastries. --There's only 1 TV in the room and it's not visible from the desk and not centered between the two beds in the room. --No microwave --No lotion. Usually this is no big deal but in this cold, dry climate my hands were white and dry as a crow's foot. --No restaurant here so if you want something to eat, you need to drive. --Closet has a door that cannot open very wide so it's difficult to put anything like a suitcase in there. Still, I love this place. It has a very nice decor, is kept very clean, and staff is very friendly and accommodating. I wouldn't be opposed to staying here again. read more

Probably the worst hotel I have ever stayed at! This room was so dirty and gross, stains all over the carpet, weird stains on mattress, bathroom sink not draining, hairs in the tub. The worst part was the gross smell, probably from the filthy carpet. Thank god I had my slippers with me! I will never stay at this place again. The staff is fabulous! They're all very attentive, helpful, and made me feel at home. The guest rooms have been newly renovated with new carpeting, mattresses, and pullout sofas - WOW feels like new! Part of what should be in every Driver's Ed class is when to call time on being able to drive. Long road trips can be incredibly dangerous when the road starts to bend and shift in your field of vision, and when that happened on a drive from Montreal to NYC I knew that I was suddenly a danger to myself and everyone else around me. I pulled into a highway rest stop and started looking for nearby hotels, fortunately finding this Hyatt Place not too far down the road. As a Hyatt Diamond member, I didn't expect to have trouble finding a room, but I decided to call ahead to try to book a room before they closed the day and ran night audit. I happened to catch Patrick just before he began his accounting work, booked the room, and promised I'd see him within the hour. True to his word, he had my key ready for my arrival, and I trudged upstairs to drop my bags before coming back down to get a quick drink. Patrick and I got to chatting, and talk soon turned to the difficulty of getting good sleep while on the road. He was very well-versed in sleep apnea and gave me some good tips to follow up with my doc for when I was back home, for which I am extremely grateful. The room was fairly standard for a Hyatt Place, which means it has a large work/living room area which is open-plan to the bedroom behind it. At that hour, I had eyes only for the bed, and the mattress was fantastically firm and gave me a solid night's sleep which readied me for the remainder of my drive ahead. Even better for the drive was coming down to find that alongside the front desk there was now a breakfast spread available. Fresh fruits, yogurt, and freshly-made eggs on English muffins were a great start to my day served alongside cappuccinos. The morning staff were as friendly and warm as Patrick, and while I don't expect to be coming through this area all that often I am now looking forward to having an excuse to drop in at this Hyatt Place in Malta on my next drive to Montreal. read more

Really great. From the start the staff was awesome. DJ was great and checked us in. We brought our little dog and had a room on the first floor. The room was nice, good size and perfect for the pup. Bathroom was a little small/awkward with the toilet/door/shower configuration. We didn't try the breakfast but it seemed good. They don't have a "store" but do have a case with drinks and snacks. There's a small "bar" and a nice lobby. Everything was clean, everyone was nice, the room was good... they were awesome to the pup. Really couldn't have asked for more. We'd for sure come back again. So, I really hate to give this place a bad review. The rooms were great, the common spaces and amenities that I used were great. The staff also was amazingly accommodating of our large group. The only blemish was their miserable van driver who went out of his way to yell at our van driver for parking in the front while our group unloaded. It was amazingly uncalled for and he verbally accosted our female driver in full display of the everyone that was in the lobby. I hope for his sake he get back on the wagon and stops belittling guests. read more

After a never ending hotel/Airbnb search, I ended up booking a room at Hyatt Malta for my visit to Saratoga Springs. I came during track season so needless to say it seemed like everything was either booked or outrageously priced. I wasn't sure what to expect but I must say, I was pleasantly surprised by how nice, clean, and comfortable the hotel was. The hotel is located right off of the highway. It is directly across from a hospital. It is a 15-20 minute drive from Saratoga Springs. It is fairly easy to get a Uber from the hotel. We had a room with two queen beds and a sitting area. The sitting area was slightly sectioned off from the bedroom area which made the room feel spacious. We also had a fridge and were able to request a microwave. The bed was very comfortable. We had ample linens and were provided with an iron and ironing board. The closet space was tiny but got the job done. I noticed there were many outlets which always comes in handy. There is a free continental breakfast every morning until 10am. They had fresh fruit, hard boiled eggs, bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs, silver dollar pancakes, cereal, and bagels/English muffins. The food was pretty good. I noticed it being constantly replenished. Although there is no restaurant, there is a 24 hour cafe. I tried a cookie from there which was delicious (and also very overpriced... almost $5 for a cookie. Wow!). They also have a bar which is open until 2am. Service was great. We noticed our bedsheets were slightly damp (probably didn't dry all the way) so we contacted the front desk. They had an employee change the sheets immediately and also gave us two free drink tickets. Talk about great customer service! read more

my husband and I stayed here in August. we reserved and paid for the room on line. we we checked in they requested credit card for incidentals. my husband gave them a different credit card the. the one we booked with and did t think it would matter because we never get charged for incidental. well they charges us twice for the room. The hotel did NOT correct the error and we are still trying to get each credit card to see that we were double charged. not only that but a staff member walked i on us with a master key because the manager sent him on a "special project". we confronted the manager and how did he not know the room was occupied. this hotel has never reached out to us or assisted us when we called about being charged twice. I don't know if this is a scam they are running or not. . read more

September 18 we checked in to the hotel. I was there for surgery with Saratoga spine. I was beyond nervous and scared. The hotel was exceptional the staff beyond friendly but one person in particular stands out. Wendy Maiello... I was walking through the hall the morning I was getting ready to go check into surgery and she could see it on my face stopped and talked with me and asked if I was OK and I told her it was getting ready to go have surgery. We chatted for a bit and I told her that I don't think you'll see me back as I wasn't sure how long my stay was going to be in the details. I went and had my surgery my husband and our little girl stayed at the hotel I was in the hospital. Was able to get out the next day I did that well we walked in and Wendy was standing there and she remembered me and was so pleasant. I have course was not feeling perfect as I had just had spine surgery but she made me feel really good. He had contemplated staying that night but I was uncomfortable so we chose to make the trip home to Vermont 3 1/2 hours away and Wendy took it upon herself to compensate us as we had paid until Saturday and we were leaving that day and she refunded that night stay she did not have too. But the fact that the compassion with they are from her meant the world to us I have to come back down for another surgery in about five months and I can guarantee you we will be staying at Hyatt Place. The rooms were beautiful and comfortable the pool was lovely the hot tub was awesome and I think we'd like to even take a trip over just to stay there when it does not pertain to surgery read more

If there were an option for zero stars, that would more represent my experience at this hotel. We arrived with a prepaid reservation for a room with a king bed, and when we opened the door and walked in the room, the smell in the room almost knocked us over. It was like someone opened up 50 Wick plug in air freshners and dumped them all over the carpet. My wife immediately started getting a migrane from the smell, and we could not even close the door while we contacted the front desk. We were told that there were no other rooms available in the hotel, and they could not accomodate us. The best they could offer was to bring an ionizer to clean the air in the room, i thought they would have needed to tear up the carpet. Either way, the manager came in, did not seem apologetic, but said we could get a full refund.. we kept the door open while we called around and found a room with a Queen at the Hilton across the street for $100 more than we wanted to spend. Based on the how awkward the staff was, I dont think we were the first ones to walk out of that hotel that night.. that room was absolutely unrentable, and they knew it, and put us in there knowing about the overwhelming chemical smell, and hoping we wouldnt say anthing.. The clerks boyfriend sitting at the bar blowing out gigantic vape hits 15 feet from the check-in didnt help the smell or vibe in the lobby either.. Overall our whole experience stank! read more

I would have given 5 stars but I was disappointed with my last stay. We were there for 3 nights on Father's Day weekend. We have stayed there on that weekend for the last 5 years and only one time were we disappointed. We were given a room on the first floor not too far from their banquet room. That Saturday they had a Sweet 16 party with a DJ and of course many kids. It would not have been so bad if the party guests stayed in the banquet hall but they kept going in and coming out to hang in the hallway. To our relief it was over by 11 PM. So no more first floor rooms for us. This last time we checked in and the room was very clean as always. We noticed that the sink was slow to empty so we contacted the front desk and since it was after 5 the person who would fix it had left for the day. They offered us another room but we were already settled so we declined. The next day we were in the room most of the day and no one came. We declined housekeeping because we did not need it. We left at about 3 PM and had to remind the front desk again. It was the same person we spoke to originally. When we returned it was fixed. We requested housekeeping for Saturday so that we could get fresh towels. We did not realize until late that night they only gave us wash cloths and hand towels. No bath towels. So we used the hand towels as bath towels. It was too late to call. I realize things happen but why no towels? They did not do anything else in the room for I always make up the bed. read more

I LOVE my HYATT HOTELS!! I am a gold card member. And stayed here from 8 Saturday - Monday in October 22-24 2016. This is a Hyatt Place and only has 120 rooms. I honestly booked my room the Tuesday before and there was not a problem. I actually had a free night plus points for the other night to be free and did not have to pay any taxes or anything. Check in is at 4 p.m. but if you get there early it's not a problem and check out is at noon but if you check out a little late that's not a problem either. We were on the 5th floor there are five floors. There is a pool indoor open year-round no outdoor pool & gym. Every room has an L-shaped sleeper sofa, 42 inch swivel TV & direct TV so you got all the premium channels HBO, Showtime etc. Room had the connections for laptops & other devices that you could hook up to the TV to watch if you brought them with you or if you brought your own video gaming devices. They have free breakfast in the morning before everyone hot breakfast along w/ cereals fresh fruit you name it it's there. There's no restaurant or room service. But do have a decent 24/7 Menu items you can call the front desk that they can make & when ready they call the room you come down and pick it up. They do have a small bar where you can get alcoholic beverages you can also order those for your room. There's also snacks, desserts Kama beverages by the bar as well that you can sit down and eat there at the tables or bring up to your room. In your room you have a refrigerator, a work this in a privacy wall separating the couch and ottoman from the bed. While we were there we did not hear anything it was complete silence there was a decent amount of people there because it was packed at breakfast on Sunday morning Monday not as many people. Easy access off the highway directly on the other side of the highway there's Dunkin Donuts, McDonald's just to name a few places along with a Price Chopper that has a great bakery in there. Panera Bread just name a few places we stopped at or saw when driving by. I had a problem connecting to the Wi-Fi they were extremely helpful yet my boyfriend had no problem texting with his laptop one of the guys from the front desk actually came up to the room to help me and then I actually went down to the front desk and they gave me the tech support phone number but I didn't even need that or he gave it to me just in case. And the only noise we heard was wind it very windy the 1st night so that is all that we heard. *** FYI... braid across the hotel when you get off the highway is the 24 hour urgent care in case anyone needed it just good to know if you were traveling in that area whether you're staying before that exit which is Exit 12 or after the exit that Urgent Care is there. read more

We were overbooked. They were caring and solicitous. They paid for our room at the much more expensive, but not nearly as nice Saratoga Hilton (think motel quality room with nice service). Top that off with one of the most outstanding hotel rooms I've stayed in. Well, we will be back very soon. read more

We stopped here halfway thru a very long drive from Boston to Ontario. My wife chases Hyatt points, so the room was a freebee. The hotel is very nice, but the location is kind of off, and there is certainly no walking to restaurants or bars in the area. That said, there is room service and a small bar off the lobby. The room service is a little bizarre in that the guest has to go down to the bar area to pick up whatever is ordered. They don't bring it to your room. The food was so-so. The bed in the room was hard as rock and made for a very uncomfortable sleep. All in all, probably not a repeat stay in the future for us. read more

Am giving one star to this place. We stayed there for three day last monday and checked out on Thursday. Everything is ok but the shower place is disaster .after you shower there ,water drain out And the other most important thing you have to keep in mind, put all your things in a safe place. I took my d&g 100 dollar perfume .A perfume was in a drawer for 2 days where I kept and third day it was gone. Thank god i did not take my expensive bag. I didn't complain for the perfume , cause I don't want the person out from the job. Am Not staying there next time. I am surprised no one has reviewed this hotel yet because it has been open for almost 2 years. Not being familiar with the area, I booked this hotel for to recruit at RPI in Troy which turned out to be 30-40min away. However, I cannot say I have any regrets because I had a wonderful experience here. The hotel itself is identical to other Hyatt Places which is why I booked it, but the staff's hospitality was well above my expectations. I arrived before the stated check in time because I had already spent several sleepless nights on the road and all I wanted to do was crash for a few hours in the quietest room possible. After accommodating my request, I was given a box of cute chocolate covered Oreos with piped Hyatt symbols and I was on my way to a deep slumber. After waking from my super nap, I decided there was no reason to leave this warm and comforting hotel in search of dinner (there isn't much in the immediate area besides fast food anyways). After accidentally crashing a business buffet dinner in the common kitchen area (it was not marked) I ordered a burger off the 24 hour menu. The food served its purpose but was not exceptional. Still, I feel the hospitality at this hotel makes it worthy of 4 stars and I would not hesitate to recommend to anyone who is traveling in the area. read more

We stayed during August from thurs- Sunday. In all that time we did not have one cup of coffee. The canisters were continuously empty. When pointed out to the four staff members standing around the desk chatting, they did not seem surprised nor in a hurry to remedy the situation. We went down for breakfast at 6:45. We were told breakfast was at 6:30. There was no breakfast ready. Also no coffee! My room was cleaned and tended to daily. The lobby often needed vacuuming. I do understand with high traffic it is probably hard to keep up with that. My main disappointment with this hotel was the lack of amenities. Drive further and go for a Hampton Inn. read more

I can't rave about this hotel enough! Hyatt Place chains are one of my favorite Hotels to stay in while traveling, and the one in Malta NY exceeded all of my already high expectations. I travel often for business and need to have extremely comfortable, efficient and professional hotel stays with perfect wireless access. Hyatt Place Malta has all of that. The staff was exceptional all the way from the General Manager to the grounds keeper. I was treated with the utmost professionalism and was given wonderful advice and suggestions from several of the staff on local restaurants, attractions and even daytrips. My room was comfortable, wonderfully clean and perfectly quiet. I was in town on business and after working long hours it was great to be able to come back to the hotel and get healthy food from the kitchen 24/7. Cheesecake at 2am...yes please! One of the great little details about the hotel is the lounge area in the room with huge tv and throw blanket...like home! I will stay here every time I return and highly recommend it!!! read more

Terrible experience at this hotel. There was a booking mistake on the hotels end, which resulted in the manager calling the police to escort us out because THEY had foolishly overbooked the hotel and booked us for the wrong day. The manager was extremely unprofessional, rude, and insensitive. If your going to stay here, which I don't recommend because the staff has zero idea about how to deal with customers, definitely book online instead of letting someone do it over the phone. They will probably mess up the reservation and ruin your vacation! read more

My stay here with my rowing team was one of the best hotel experiences I've had. As 60 sweaty, rowdy women piled into the lobby, the front desk staff was smiling and ready to help us. They were very polite and hospital throughout our two day, one night stay. Our rooms were kept clean and smelling fresh and the breakfast selection started early and ended late to accommodate our early wake up times and late arrival times racing. They were never hesitant to ask what we needed of them and they were always happy to face our crazy team The breakfast was outstanding. Free continental-- breakfast sandwiches, sausages, cereals and oatmeal, fruits and an endless supply of coffee. The beds were comfy; the rooms has a nice sitting area with a pullout couch that was as comfortable as it could've been for a pullout couch. The bathroom was spotless. However, the quality of the lotions, soaps and shampoo could improve. Overall I would definitely recommend anyone staying here! read more

This hotel was built because a multi billionaire dollar Japanese semi conductor built a facility in Malta. This hotel was built with an Asian theme to cater to the Japanese business men who frequent this amazing hotel. Everything here is better than your standard Hyatt, Hilton, Marriott level hotel. They have an indoor pool, gym and 24 hour food and a small bar open to 1 am. The rooms are huge, modern and more like rooms you would see in Montreal or Toronto. They serve a higher quality american breakfast for free but maybe one of the few places in the US that you can get Japanese breakfast as well. Rice, tofu, scallions, daicon pickle, dried seaweed... Yum! Free newspapers, internet, business services...printing.. Free! Not only is this easily the best hotel in the tricapital area but better than anything all the way to... and including Boston.
