My son is doing his summer internship in New Jersey. He had an issue with his truck. Thanks to Yelp we learned of Hyatt's. My sons truck was towed to the shop on Saturday. My son could not find a key drop so he didn't leave a key. I called first thing Monday morning and spoke to John. He was very polite and accommodating. He said he'd try to look at it as soon as my son got him keys around lunch time. By 1 PM John called me and said he had identified the issue and since he assumed I'd ask him to fix it he already had. He certainly could have charged us much more and fixed things that weren't necessary but he did not. I have a 2003 Nissan Xterra that I love. I will drive it until the wheels fall off. Jon helped me achieve that goal. I was told by another mechanic that the oil leak would be very expensive to fix. Little did I know that was code for "I don't feel like doing that much work." Jon and his staff fixed not one, but two, oil leaks in my truck (one of which required extensive labor), a vaccuum hose leak, and power steering leaks. For just under $1600, I am the Queen of the road, again. $1600 is a whole lot better than, $500 for 72 months!!! Thank you Jon and Staff!!! Fantastic place to take your vehicle to get serviced. I took my 2006 Lexus IS 250 for a CV axle replacement, Jon walked me through the entire process and kept me updated via video and pictures, no other mechanic does such a thing! Got the issue repaired among other things out of courtesy. I will definitely be coming back to this place for any future repairs. It's better to support local business than big corporate ones! Jon at Hyatt's Auto Repair did a great job on my 2003 Lexus SC 430. I had an extensive leak and needed new valve cover gaskets along with a check engine light issue. He not only did those repairs in record time but because of the age of my vehicle he came across a couple issues he fixed along the way. I couldn't be more pleased with his service and his attention to detail. His prices are reasonable and I will definitely be coming back for maintenance and repairs in the future. I don't write reviews very often, but I felt like this one was well deserved. My car died in my driveway and I called a service repair guy to replace the battery after a jump failed. The technician that arrived told me that he tested my battery and it had no issues. Instead, he told me my issue was likely with the fuel pump or fuel injector, and even warned that if I've been using bad fuel my entire engine may be shot. I don't know much about cars, but those things all sounded quite a bit more expensive than a battery replacement, so I was a bit panicked. I previously had a local mechanic I used and, while they always did a great job with the actual car, I felt like they ran the price up on me every chance they got and I wanted to try out a new place. I was recommended Hyatt's by a neighbor and had the car towed there same day. I told Jon what the issue was and he said he could get to it by the end of the next day. He called me exactly when he said he would the next day and told me he found zero issues with any of the parts the previous technician described. He had no clue how that guy tested my battery as operable when it was apparently shot beyond repair and needed replacement. After popping in a new battery, the car drove off the lot the next morning with no issues. That was it, no new engine, no new fuel pump, just a basic battery replacement. An honest mechanic is tough to find. I don't know the first thing about cars, so the best I can do is read reviews in hopes of identifying a mechanic that is trustworthy and bring my car there. I felt like I should write this review so others who aren't "car-savvy" could rest assured bringing their business to Hyatt's. I had a question about a quote I got for a fix by the dealer and the gentleman I spoke to on the phone was patient and thorough and actually said it would be cheaper to get the work done at the dealer because his cost to order the parts was higher than that of the dealer. My daughters car had a coolant leak and uses her car daily for school and work. We called Hyatt's service repairs and they had us drop it right off. They called within 2 hours with a diagnosis and estimate. We also asked them to look at the brakes, as the front were making a friction noise. They ordered the parts and had the car fixed by 9:30 the next morning! They replaced the brakes and rotors on the front (and sent pics of the issue) but told us the back were good(very honest!) It's easy to miss this place if you're not paying attention. I have lived in the area for 11 years and have passed by this place many times. It's not "high-end" looking AT ALL from the outside, and as a matter of fact, doesn't appear to be more than a quick stop to get some gas at a cheap price. But, as the old adage goes, appearances can be very, very deceiving! It's just how life is, that when you can afford it the least, that is the exact time things tend to go wrong the most. My vehicle is absolutely essential to me being able to make ends meet, and without it, I would be up the creek without a paddle, or a damn boat for that matter. So when I needed to make a lot of extra money during the worst financial month of the year this November, (to make up for amounts still owed), there was no way in Hell I could afford a costly repair job in the event my vehicle became inoperable during that time. And, any such event would have crippled me, causing an immeasurable amount of stress. So you can imagine the shear terror I felt when I noticed transmission fluid leaking from my undercarriage, when I was over an hour away from getting it back home one night! I had some fluid in the trunk, so I topped it off and made it home that night. I had no idea what could be the issue, but my mind immediately went to the worst case scenario (hope for the best, and prepare for the worst, and all that). Damage to my transmission could easy cost upwards of $1K, and much higher if severe, which I could NOT afford right then and there. That night I looked up mechanics in the area here on yelp, hoping I could find one that most reviews would agree had an honest mechanic at reasonable rates, and minimal to no aggressive up selling. Hyatt's stood out with consistent praise here and elsewhere in my research, and they were also very close. When I went to double check the vehicle early the next morning, I was horrified to find that the "leak" was far worse than I thought. my ENTIRE undercarriage was completely wet from transmission fluid, and my dipstick was coming up bone dry. I called Hyatt's the moment they opened, explained the damage, and my hope that it was minor due to my lack of funds (not that they had any control over how bad the damage was anyway). I truly suck with names, but I do know I dealt with a Bill and a John that day. It doesn't matter because they were both equally awesome. I was told it would be fine if I had my vehicle towed there, and they would take a look and get back to me about the damage/cost. So I used my roadside assistance coverage with my carrier to have it towed to Hyatt's, then just gave a quick call to verify they got it and explain what happened. Less than 2 hours later I got a call back and was advised that it was only the fluid lines that had gone bad. They needed to be replaced, and new fluid put in once done. Nothing else was needed to get me back on the road, and they could have my vehicle read in a couple of hours. I was given a not to exceed estimate, which was EXACTLY at the upper limit of what I could spend (never telling them prior what my limit was), and asked them to proceed. I picked up my vehicle later that day, once I could get a ride. The total was actually a little less. Both Bill/John were polite, honest & straightforward. Everything anyone could ask for in a mechanic, and industry that typically does not have the best reputation as it pertains to those qualities. Hyatt's truly saved my ass that month, and I was able to get driving ASAP and make my bills for the month. I never once felt like I had to haggle, or distrusted what they were telling me. I was an auto claims adjuster for 10 years, and I dealt with auto body & repair shops on a daily basis during that time. I heard every excuse, story, and bs reason for doing unnecessary and costly work on vehicles, so I was intimately familiar with the tactics employed by dishonest shops in an effort to get more out of a customer than what was necessary. Hyatt's was in absolutely NO WAY representative of such places. As long as I live anywhere remotely close to Hyatt's, I will be taking it there for all my vehicle maintenance and repair needs. Jon...(not John!),....THANK YOU SOOOOOO MUCH! I came to be at Hyatt's via Repair Pal. I am a single 55+ and female so most know what that can mean at times when in need of honest mechanics. Hyatt's is certainly just that. This man has a certain professionalism and honesty that is VERY hard to find in this day. He did everything from listen in depth to me from my first phone call to him regarding my 2009 Traverse issue/s, all the way to drawing me diagrams of the problems once he got the vehicle down from the lift. This is almost obsolete in auto repair business today, although I believe there are still a few great ones left. Once the process of ordering the part and the how and why's of the time frame (esp it being 2 days before Christmas), Jon quoted me a ballpark figure, time frame and I tell you this-he hit it on the head. He even helped me figure out my first Uber ride request-this man has a busy business and it was highly admirable and appreciated. The steering shaft needed replaced and he did so, took me physically to the removed part and showed me theere what he drew on the paper in the very beginning. I could go on, but I want others to know that this is a very sincere review. Never heard of Hyatt's prior to this and I never knew of Jon prior to this. When I picked up my vehicle (same day mind you-I left it overnight by choice), he took the time to explain other issues that will need to be addressed.
