THEN explain that you take very few insurance policies and you want to make sure the patient is covered. Perhaps this is a very small detail to most, but you are caring for human beings with real medical issues who want to feel like they matter. Asking one's name takes very little time. And most likely, most of your potential patients have already checked with their insurance company to see if you take their insurance.

She is a true caring doctor and couldn't be in better hands. For the past year I've been suffering from back pain, and I was totally misdiagnosed thinking I had a back problem and sacroiliac joint disease. At the end wasn't my back at all, it was a ginormous fibroid that was causing me all this awful pain. I could not workout, even walking would be painful.... I couldn't sleep on my back anymore, it was endlessly pain on my left lower back, through the buttocks, and legs.... shooting pain! Awful and I felt miserable. Dr. Violi said I needed to have the procedure done because my tiny fibroids grew so rapidly and was causing me all this problems. At the end it wasn't my back! Practice is antiquated to say the least, can't use credit card for payment without being charged additional fee, patients files with sensitive information are stored on open shelves, not secured, not digitized. One and only time I used credit card - it was compromised, in a next few days unauthorized transactions start appearing. Person in charge of BILLING has no clue how banking or accounting works, so if she can't "locate" payment patient made, she will demand you pay again even though you have proof of payment, just because it's easier than actually learning how to do her job. THIS PLACE IS A MESS! Stay away, there's plenty of doctors out there with professionally run practice.
