I know of this place from years ago and had recommended it to friends that were interested in Waco and the Magnolia market. I need to attend a wedding in North Dallas and did not want to get stuck in traffic coming back to San Antonio so I opted to stay here. The owner opened the place up an hour early for me so I could shower and get ready for the wedding. She didn't have time because it was, so last-minute to order pastries so she gave me a gift card to a local restaurant that was absolutely incredible and right up my alley. This was my 4th stay. And I will be back in October. HH feels like home to me. You get space and everything you need.....even ear plugs if you are traveling with snoring friends. She also provides eye masks but we didn't need them. I highly recommend the World Cup Coffee breakfast option!!! Don't miss the fair trade shop that is attached to World Cup Coffee. When I have to leave early, I get the pastry option. The pastries are yummy. You also have access to games and books. A few years ago, I stayed in the first floor room. This place is awesome. We stayed in the downstairs room. The bed is comfortable and the decor is very welcoming. It was reasonably priced - significantly less than hotels in the area. The owner Kathy has thought about every last detail. The rooms are full of awesome "extras" - ear plugs, makeup wipes, a portable makeup mirror, additional towels, games, books, and Waco guides. It's centrally located inside the "Baylor Bubble" and it is adorable. The guest house is behind the main house and there is covered parking off the street. There are two options for breakfast - local pastries delivered to the room or gift certificates to the World Cup Cafe down the road. We chose the gift certificates and thought the food was really good! The profits go to Mission Waco, a group that provides programs for the poor and marginalized. Win-win!! Kathy is very hospitable. She gave me recommendations for restaurants, was flexible on check-in time, and accommodated our last-minute reservation. Loved my stay here in the smaller room downstairs (for two people)! They have two rooms, and the upstairs has the loft with two twin beds. It was recently updated with re-purposed wood walls and beautiful wood flooring that makes the room sell amazing! This was close to everything for those on a Fixer Upper weekend retreat or wanting to visit two vineyards nearby (both about 15 minutes away). Kathy is a wonderful host who provides a delicious continental breakfast made by local baker who currently provides breakfast pastries for the new Silos baking company at the Magnolia Market. You can also choose to take the breakfast coupon for World Cup Cafe five minutes away for a diner delicious breakfast that serves a great mission cause (will review that separately). I loved that Kathy gave us options to choose, and we were able to try both. I usually have a hard time the first night in any hotel/B&B, but I slept so well here the both nights. I was so comfortable. And the bathroom shower was amazing too! Love the fixtures! They even have DVDs and games for those with the family to use. The price is ideal for my budget (about $110 a night before taxes), and I would stay again in a heartbeat. Thank you Kathy and congrats on opening your own B&B! read more

This has been the best b&b for our girls antiquing weekend to Waco! Our upstairs room with the loft is the perfect space with the most thoughtful layout. Mary thought of everything from ear plugs and eye masks to every appliance needed and most importantly, a nice selection of coffee! The shelves of games, movies and books came in handy too. We had many laughs over the game of Boggle! We felt at home at the Hymnsinger House (with updated but cozy decor) and can't wait to visit again. read more

I highly recommend The Hymnsinger House! the house is perfectly arranged so that you can rent half or all of the house and still have plenty of privacy. We rented the entire house so that our 82 year old mother had a room downstairs while we (my two sisters and myself ) could stay upstairs! Kathy the owner is wonderful to work with! Wonderful place to stay! We stayed in the upstairs unit with the loft that is very spacious and fully furnished with everything you would need and so much more! One thing to know about the loft that isn't shown is that it has a wooden ladder to climb to get into the loft. It does not have stairs, it's a true loft! My husband and I loved the intimacy of Hymnsinger's downstairs room and the option of dining at World Cup Cafe, conveniently located and a place to feel the pulse of an eclectic, exciting part of town, or sampling pastries from Baked Bliss, which concocts amazing sweet rolls and biscuits, some of which grace the shelves at Magnolia! We enjoyed luxurious sleep, with every modern convenience, and plan to return and maybe splurge on the upstairs accommodation, which has a cool loft and enough room to house a big family. We stayed in the downstairs room for our stay in Waco. It is such a cute space, perfect for a couple. The room was very clean, fresh and inviting. The decor was so cute and the bed was quite comfortable. The location made for easy access around town. We had the pleasure of meeting Kathy, the owner the next morning and she was very kind and inviting. Such a highlight of our anniversary trip to Waco! My husband and I stayed in the smaller, downstairs room and were very comfortable. Everything was new and very clean, including the shower that was really large! The queen bed was very comfortable, too. It was also conveniently located to everything we wanted to see, especially Harp Design Co. and the Magnolia store and silos!! Instead of breakfast on-site, we chose to take the gift certificates to drive 2 minutes down the street to World Cup Cafe for breakfast. This is part of Mission Waco, an outreach program in Waco. What a find! Wonderful breakfast! The owner, Kathy, was so helpful in giving us ideas of places to go and was truly interested in making us feel comfortable and welcome. The affordable price of the room makes this such a desirable place to stay while you are in Waco! We will definitely stay here again when we come back! read more
