My wife and I celebrated our 47th wedding anniversary in Waco, where our romance began at Baylor University when we were students, and stayed here for three nights. The hosts are very gracious and excellent at taking care of their guests. Everyday started with a delicious made to order breakfast. You could pick from pancakes, Belgian waffles or awesome biscuits. You could also select your eggs. Every meal included bacon or sausage and fruit. It was a great start to our day. I highly recommend staying here! They have many repeat customers and there is a reason, it is simply an outstanding place. In a day when everyone is focused on making a buck, these folks are focused on taking care of their guests and making every stay a very memorable experience. You get a real sense of home away from home. The rooms are very comfortable and they even have California King beds and for a guy who is 6'9" tall it was exquisite. They define the word hospitality. Give them a try. You will not be disappointed. You will not find a better place to stay. read more

Retha+Dana clearly enjoy being hosts. They exude the positive energy, the love that a bed and breakfast requires. My room was beautiful. Love the walk up the lighted hand built wooden walkway to a spacious room that had all that I need. They even made eggs over easy properly. The entire setting is peaceful. If I had to criticize anything is there is nothing unique about breakfast, but that mattered little as I enjoyed my stay show much, that I extended it a couple nights. The only place I shall stay in Waco. read more

We were in Waco for the Baylor/UT football game and had a fabulous stay at the Bed and Breakfast on White Rock Creek. Owners Retha and Dana were so friendly and attentive. We stayed in the Savannah Suite and loved it! The bed was super comfy and the sheets were the softest I've ever slept on! (Ask Retha about them - she'll give you the 411) The room was set up beautifully with a small kitchen/dining and sitting area. There was cable TV - which is super important on a college football weekend! The room was decorated to give it a historic feel, but it was actually relatively new (Dana built it!) I appreciated the "new" in the bathroom - hot water and good water pressure. Didn't have a chance to try out the huge jetted tub. The room and bath was stocked with everything we needed - several shampoo and soap choices, hair dryer, coffee maker with all the fixings, bottle water and yummy cookies on arrival. Breakfast was served in the main house each morning. We enjoyed breakfast burritos one morning and a breakfast casserole the next - all homemade and very good. Cold options like fruit, yogurt, and granola were available as well. We were provided with an extensive list of local attractions and shopping. Retha and Dana were happy to provide suggestions, directions, whatever we needed. Highly recommend this B and B and will definitely visit again! read more

The accommodations are top notch! The staff are friendly, welcoming, and dedicated to ensuring their guests are taken care of in every possible way. My wife and I stayed there for three days over Valentines. I reached out before my reservation and asked them to get flowers, rose peddles, champagne, and chocolate covered strawberries. They had everything ready to go in our room before we even got there. Everything was perfect. Breakfast was excellent, the rooms and scenery were beautiful. Sorry, but we were not impressed. The actual room was not as nice as the online photos and it smelled like strong cleaning fluid when we entered. The gentleman who greeted us was nice and a accommodating enough, but the accommodations were not what we expected. We have travelled the entire US and have spent nights at dozens of BnB and this simply did not measure up. We decided to spend the night at the Mohawk River Inn which was much nicer. Oddly, we sent an email to the owners of White Rock about our issues and never heard back. read more

I was in Waco for training at McLennan Community College and this B&B was so easy to get to and from MCC. My stay in the Carolina was so relaxing, like being in a tree-house with all the trees surrounding the property . Dana and Retha are truly caring people who make you feel like you're part of the family and neighborhood. Since my training had me away for the breakfast in the dining room, Retha had breakfast already in the fridge...fresh fruit, yogurt, pumpkin bread (really yummy), bacon and eggs. We needed to get ouf Houston to see some fall. We stayed at White Rock Creek a few years ago and were impressed with the property and our hosts. We came back again and were not disappointed. The hosts are warm and inviting with lots of knowledge of where to go and where to eat. The rooms are well appointed and spacious. The property is in a well wooded area outside Waco which sets it apart from from a city B and B. If you get a second story room you feel like you are in a tree house. The breakfast is delicious and plentiful. The dining room is in a great room with a stone fireplace. The whole property is filled with antiques that are beautiful and paintings by Retha's Mom which are wonderful. We could have gone to Fredericksburg TX to see fall but White Rock Creek was our first pick. Thank you for a great weekend. read more

This is our second time back at White Rock B and B. The first time was outstanding and this time wonderful. The innkeepers are so patient, kind, warm, understanding and accommodating. White Tock is so cozy, warm, inviting and the perfect B&B if you are looking to relax and get away from it all. There was an issue with the hot water and it was fixed immediately and I could enjoy a hot shower. We actually got food poisoning from a restaraunt in town and were not able to leave the room. The innkeepers were so accommodating and brought us some extra items to help. The rooms are beautiful. read more

Stayed for two nights in order to attend our daughter's athletic event at Baylor University. We stayed in the Carolina Room and absolutely enjoyed our stay! Dana and Retha were great hosts and excellent cooks. Dana gave us great information about the area which helped us target our "down time," even though that time was limited. The B & B was close to everything we needed and wanted access to, yet set away in a very beautiful and "secluded" setting. Dana said the Carolina room was one of the smallest; however, it was plenty for our needs, having a microwave and a small refrigerator. We met some awesome people there who were also staying. CAUTION: owners did not disclose customers can not use the restroom sink water UNTIL after check in On 11 April 2017, Retha had the water pipes replaced with temp pipes w/ excessive bleach. She withheld that information when I called and spoke to Retha on 12 April 2017, to make a reservation for 14 April. She did NOT mention anything about the an open maintenance issue they had going on. If I would have known that, I would not have made a reservation. They fail to disclose that information on line or via phone. It is unfair the Bed and Breakfast at White Rock Creek would chose to wait and tell customer upon arrival. I stayed the night at the Bed and Breakfast on White Rock Creek on 14 April 2017. The room was neat, past the decorations. There is large ants in the bedroom, restroom, on the floor and crawling on the ceiling. There were even ants in the refrigerator. The room had a whirlpool tub, I started running the water and waited till it was a 1/4 full and turned on the jets. It looked to be a mixture of dirt and dead ants that came out. Nevertheless it was disgusting. Use caution and know ALL details prior to making the reservation here. Their cancellation policy screws over customers like myself who want a refund. Retha has an attitude and thinks she is not wrong for how she runs business. I did not know any of this information till late last night. She is a bad person who is only interested in profit. read more

First time in Waco to visit Chip and Joanna Gaines stomping grounds. The hosts were very accommodating. We left the B&B early both mornings to get an early start site seeing and to get to the airport. They gave us the option of breakfast in our room. The breakfast was delivered to our room fridge for us to warm in the am on our schedule. The first morning we didn't do breakfast because we wanted to get in line early for Magnolia Table reservations. The restaurant opens at 7:00 am. It was Monday and raining so we didn't get there as early as planned but 7:30 am still got us in the restaurant without a wait. The service and food was impeccable. The location of this B&B was great to get to downtown Waco. We stayed in the Shenandoah after an upgrade provided by the hosts because it was vacant for the two nights we were there. The room was cozy and comfortable and the bed slept good. Private parking and lighted walkways finished off a good place to stay. read more
