Ken and Annette Myers in front of Lake Waco

Beautiful place to stay. It really felt like home. The breakfast and conversations were priceless. Dana and Retha became family in just the short weekend we were there. Can't imagine coming back to Waco without staying at the Bed and Breakfast at White Rock Creek. Loved it!!!! Ken and Annette Myers

My husband surprised me for a birthday weekend away without our 6 tiny humans. This was the perfect spot to rest, recharge, and connect. The owners were friendly, accommodating, and could not have been better host. The rooms were clean and well decorated. Breakfast was amazing each day. Wi-Fi. Easy to find. Great neighborhood. Hosts are knowledgeable of the area and provided great recommendation for local attractions.

Comfy bed and the softest sheets ever!

We were in Waco for the Baylor/UT football game and had a fabulous stay at the Bed and Breakfast on White Rock Creek. Owners Retha and Dana were so friendly and attentive. We stayed in the Savannah Suite and loved it! The bed was super comfy and the sheets were the softest I've ever slept on! (Ask Retha about them - she'll give you the 411) The room was set up beautifully with a small kitchen/dining and sitting area. There was cable TV - which is super important on a college football weekend! The room was decorated to give it a historic feel, but it was actually relatively new (Dana built it!) I appreciated the "new" in the bathroom - hot water and good water pressure. Didn't have a chance to try out the huge jetted tub. The room and bath was stocked with everything we needed - several shampoo and soap choices, hair dryer, coffee maker with all the fixings, bottle water and yummy cookies on arrival. Breakfast was served in the main house each morning. We enjoyed breakfast burritos one morning and a breakfast casserole the next - all homemade and very good. Cold options like fruit, yogurt, and granola were available as well. We were provided with an extensive list of local attractions and shopping. Retha and Dana were happy to provide suggestions, directions, whatever we needed. Highly recommend this B and B and will definitely visit again!

It is really close to the Silos and parking here will save you the $10 Silo parking fee. There is not always someone at the desk, nor does the phone always get answered. BUT, the hotel has EXCELLENT communication. We received a text before checking in with all the info we needed. Then, advice to text if we needed anything. Actually we sent a few texts that were IMMEDIATELY answered. Impressive! Even in the largest of other hotels, it can take some time to get a real person. We were immediately texted when we had a question about parking, then accessing the room, and others. I read on one review that there are about 10 parking spots. Actually, there are probably 25 to 30 in the lot. We found that we could park in the lot with no issues at various times. NOTE: Some spots are marked with "Reserved Parking". I asked the hotel and they related that hotel guests can park in those spots. We were told about possible train noise. We did hear it a few times, but it wasn't bothersome. In fact, there were ear plugs in a black pouch in the bathroom should this be an issue. There was also live music in the 4th floor bar until midnight. We could hardly hear it & we were on the 4th floor as well. BTW, there are superior views of the silos from the rooftop and other places in the hotel.

It is designed extremely well for a boutique hotel, and appointed nicely. What's it near? It's DIRECTLY next to the Dr Pepper Museum. It's only a five-min walk to Magnolia: Chip & Jo Gaines' shopping area. But, do NOT come here for the "breakfast bites", which is their substitution for breakfast. Sadly, there are only 2 breakfast foods, both bad for you: cereal laden with sugar & yogurt laden with sugar. And, for a boutique hotel, there was a lack of coffee. Yes, there was a coffee maker in the room with 2 pods for us, but no creamer. It was on another floor. We were here 2 nights, and the pods weren't replaced. No coffee the next morning and nowhere in the hotel to get some complementary coffee. That was odd because almost every hotel has coffee, some 24 hrs a day (Holiday Inn, etc). In summation, the location couldn't be beat. Check in was smooth with Courtney at the front desk. We would have never found this hotel were it not for a Travelzoo offer.

Easy walk to multiple restaurants, bars & shopping at Spice Market across the street and only about a 15 min walk to downtown Waco. Bar & restaurant in lobby, cleaning staff was very accommodating and friendly. Over all good average hotel experience but there are more modern hotels close by.

AC shut completely off and the thermostat switched to a green "smart/environmental mode" message…read more The second it detected movement from me, the message disappeared and the AC immediately kicked back on. So naturally I called the front desk. That's when the comedy started. I was told the hotel has been having "backup generator issues all day" affecting the AC. Interesting considering the entire city of Waco has had zero widespread power issues today. I actually laughed out loud when she said it. Then I asked for a simple box fan. They had none. Ironically, placing a fan where the thermostat sensor detects motion would likely keep the AC from shutting off in the first place. What really sealed it was when I was told:"There is no motion sensor on the thermostat." ...immediately followed by an offer to move me to "a room with AC." Wait -- I thought the issue was the generators? And if there's no occupancy sensor, why did the AC magically turn back on the second movement was detected? The proof is literally on the thermostat screen. I don't mind problems. Hotels have issues sometimes. I DO mind being insulted with explanations that make absolutely no sense. Just be honest with guests instead of making up stories that fall apart in thirty seconds.
