Man TO Man, on the other hand, is a men's clothing shop in Southport that sells a quite large range of menswear, including t-shirts, shirts, polo shirts, jeans and shorts - basically everything that you'd expect from a men's clothing store. Although the selection is quite extensive, the clothes themselves that they sell there are a bit bland and boring in my opinion, with the designs on a lot of them looking quite basic or 'dad-like' - not really what us youngsters are looking for, that's for sure. Their prices aren't too unreasonable, so if you're not too fussy about what clothes you wear them maybe check Man To Man out, but I'd give it a miss if you're more into your high street fashion.

And that's just what Broads and Booths is. Plus it holds great nostalgia for me, a pair of my friends used to busk outside it when I was working as a chambermaid at Squire's. We'd spend the morning making moolah and count our cash in hand earnings to spend at Aqua in the afternoon after lunch. Ah, those weekends. The irresponsibility of youth. Part of the Beales group, Broads has survived for eons in its convenient location and sells everything you could need, from fashion accessories for men and women to clothes, soft furnishings to gifts, fine fragrances and cosmetics, there's a cookshop and a bed and bathshop and a restaurant and café for when your legs refuse to carry you any longer. You can even order all your lovely things online too. It's kind of like the Southport equivalent of Harrods or Lewis's, obviously on a much smaller and simpler scale but that's how much it's shaped the Southport landscape. Definitely worth a browse.

The men's clothing store had been in the village for a good long while and it should jolly well stay, especially as all these bally WAGS keep being bought boutiques here to run into the ground. Obviously the people making these sorts of remarks didn't really concern themselves with actually shopping at Byrne & Sons, and why would they? It was very expensive for what it was. "£55 for an argyle cardigan? I could get one half that price at the Edinburgh Wool Mill!" Still they were adamant that it shouldn't leave Formby, it was an institution. Imagine their joy then when it moved to new, even bigger (and cheaper) digs opposite the Grapes pub. Hooray. It still didn't mean that anyone really went. "£20 for a tie? Good heavens no, I could get three for that price at Tie Rack!"
