The only problem is that everything is so jam packed in this store that you'll always need help to find things. To be honest, I think that Warp 2 Comics (a few doors down) has a better selection and better organization, but the staff there have always been cold to me (and yet much friendlier to guys who visit the store, which says a lot), so I'm more inclined to spend my money at Comic King.

The Mall Manager has moved over and seems to really be cleaning up the place, prices are coming down, clutter and mess is being taken care of and they now have a huge graphic novel selection. With knowledgeable employees that actually read current books, Comic King is still the best comic shop in Edmonton.

Beautiful location with lots of room & plenty of free street parking, too. We made the trip out today to pick up Batman fidget spinners for a birthday party this weekend - great price and in a case! Our little guy picked out a couple funkopops today ( huge selection) and the hubs of course picked up some comics. We even got an acrylic case to wall mount his favourite comic. The owner, Bodhi, was there today. Super knowledgeable and helpful in explaining the various gaming options. Be sure to follow them on Facebook for the latest releases, promotions, and of course contests. They also do various gaming nights here! We will be back!

Next door is where you gather with random people and play card tournaments such as magic the gathering and etc. This place seems to have a decent price for their board games with plentiful of comics. Their models/action figures are quite pricey. Staff is friendly, parking is extremely cramped even around the building. Haven't checked if they have washrooms but the layout was quite sufficient. You may need to squeeze in-between people while browsing in-store due to the small space inside. But either than that, yup i'd buy board games here. Only problem is the location, exiting can be a hassle if your driving. Recommended for guys with spectacles, or just for browsing.

I posted a request for a bird book (Birds of Alberta). I had been looking for since mine had gone missing some time ago. Well what do you know - a few weeks later, they CALLED ME and let me know that they had the book I requested on hold and waiting for me. They have fabulous hours, great staff, and prices are really good too. I parked right out front, but because it was a Friday night at 10:30pm when I went to pick up, they offered to walk me to my car... it's Whyte Avenue, and later on it can be a bit... well, uncomfortable for women alone. Who DOES that anymore?! I REALLY appreciated the offer and concern for my well- being. I love coming in here to browse - and I admit, in the past couple of years of pandemic, I haven't spent any time in any business. At that time of night, and with fewer crowds on a Friday night, I might just have to come and browse again soon. I will definitely be requesting other books online - what an efficient way to shop!

They have a great selection of games: trading cards, board games, and paintables. And gaming accessories. Building is not wheelchair accessible. The gaming area is upstairs and the sales floor is cramped. I found the customer service to be just.. not helpful? They weren't rude but they certainly under explained every step of the process. I have shopped here twice and and the same odd customer service experience both times. On one visit, I traded one 1 Magic the Gathering card for in-store credit and was asked if I had done an online trade-in order. Their website does not mention that trade-ins should be done online prior to visiting the store so while at the store, I placed an online trade-in via their website and traded in the 1 card. The associate took the card to the back to the card appraiser. The appraiser came back out a few minutes later with another card for another customer and gave the associate at the till the thumbs up on my trade-in. I had requested an in-store credit, so was expecting a gift card or something physical to represent that. So the associate and the till and I just stared at each other for the most awkward 20 seconds of my life until I asked how I get my in-store credit and he finally explained to me that the credit goes onto my email on file. Ah! Thank you for telling me! A few days later I receive an email asking about my trade-in because my sell list didn't match their records. It was cleared up no problem with a few emails back and forth, but makes for another awkward customer service experience. I have placed 2 online orders, both with errors. The first was a couple dollars difference and the second was less than one dollar difference. Not a huge deal but annoying since I didn't notice until I was home. I will double check any future orders while in store.

The card value also seems great, I bought a "heavily played" card for a heavily played price and I almost feel bad, because the condition of the card seems way better than heavily played.
