This was my first time and from the moment that I spoke to Alex, I had a gut feeling that this would work. I called quite a few places and while I found people that I liked, I really wanted a place where I could be in person. Many people do this remotely or virtually and while they may work for some, I really wanted to be in person. Amazing first experience with hypnosis ( youtube hypnosis is not beneficial, you wouldn't do a surgery on youtube lets say). He is very compassionate and understanding, broad perspective and finds the cause immediately and has great skills. Im really so glad to have found him because after 1 year of constant panic attacks, having a psychiatrist and a therapist, being on SSRIS and do multiple EMDR has only solved most of the symptoms not the real issue. I was a bit skeptical when I came to Alex but I was desperate for a solution. My issue was money blocks and career help. Alex was very thorough and listened to me for an hour. He asked me very deep questions that I have never been asked before. He gave great advice and helped me see that my lack of confidence was holding me back. I am always open to self improvement so when a coworker told me about Alex, I was excited to meet with him for hypnotherapy. I am so grateful to have found Alex. He is kind, gentle, compassionate, INTUITIVE, a keen listener, with a healing soul. I've been a nail biter all my life. I've tried sprays, flavorings, will power, distracting myself - nothing has helped me stop. Two friends had used Alex to help them quit smoking, and raved about how effective it was, so I gave him a call. The following weekend I was sitting across from him, a little nervous. Would this work? Especially given the current fears over COVID-19, this is a great time to stop biting my nails. The first session started with Alex patiently explaining what hypnosis is, and also what it isn't. He described how the session would progress, what I could expect, and answered any questions I may have had. We discussed my life, where I am now, what my childhood was like, figuring out where this habit originated, and how we would stop it. Then it was time to begin. I could feel myself entering the hypnotic trance state, feeling very relaxed, listening to his deep, soothing voice. Soon, that voice was just a noise, like the adults in the old Charlie Brown cartoons. Then, my eyes are open and I feel energized! I feel like I just took the best nap of my life. We schedule my next session for the following week, and I head home. As I'm sitting with my fiance that evening I realize I haven't bitten my nails once since leaving his office. We did 2 more sessions after this one. We worked on getting me to stop picking around the nail, then finalized the whole thing in the third session. I went to see Alex after a discerning, no-bullshit friend recommended him to me. I hadn't considered hypnosis, but this friend is someone whose opinion I take seriously, and I'm very glad I did. I spent my first, 2-hr appt mostly just talking with Alex - we had a lot to unpack - and my first impression is that even without hypnosis, he's a damn good therapist and really a wise, thoughtful person. The hypnosis itself felt exactly like a very deep, guided meditation, and his suggestions during the hypnosis were meaningful and very helpful. I felt very safe - he always asks if it's OK to touch the shoulder, hand etc and not for a second did I feel like I didn't have control over the situation. I can't tell you enough how beneficial my sessions with Alex have been. I initially went in to stop smoking but have come out with so much more. Alex is thoughtful, kind, patient and warm. I never tried hypnosis before I met him, but I would never go to anyone else. I highly recommend Alex to anyone in search of an effective alternative therapy option. I tried talk therapy for years and without success in certain problem areas. Alex is a godsend. I'd be happy telling you he completely transformed my life for the better, but he'd probably interject and say it was all me. That's just the kind of person he is. Anyway I was struggling with my perception of myself on a subconscious level. I had no self esteem, very little confidence in myself, and constantly was disrespecting myself holding everyone else's opinions of me and the world higher than my own.
