We ordered a side of salami and Swedish cheese and the hairy pig board. I enjoyed the side, but the board not so much. The board consisted of wild boar sausage with broche bun, wild boar taco, peppercorn fries, and wild boar lasagna. The board was quite heavy and salty. I didn't have enough stomach space to even try the taco. I did enjoy the fries, but it's not enough for me to want to return.

This place is tucked below street level and is very intimate and downright cozy with its low beam wood ceiling, wood tables in every cranny it can fit to accommodate guests, and a tiny little bar. You can find this place outside by the wooden sign with the boar on it, then simply peer down into the low window and if you see a hairy pig nomming on a sausage, congratulations! You're in the right place. We stopped in not long before closing time and that was probably the only reason we were able to get a much coveted table. The barkeep was nice and let us put in a quick order while also getting us drinks. Unfortunately for me, there were not very many gluten free tapa options on the menu, but there were a few naturally gf. The salami and sausages were thought to have gluten so I went with the smoked shell on shrimp, a cheese dip, and some salad with olives. I wasn't crazy about the smoked shrimp but the olives and cheese were good. The husband enjoyed a sausage in bun which he said was great. Overall we liked the vibe and I think if you can eat the locally sourced meats like my husband it's probably a pretty solid place. If you're gf or allergy you'll probably still be hungry at the end of the meal like I was.

Café Blom is a cute little cafe that's part of the Museum for Architecture and Design, but as…read morethat's in the same building as Moderna Museet it's also very easy to go there from that museum. And: it's way better than the (quite uncosy, if you ask me) cafe that Moderna Museet has itself. They seem to serve amazing coffees and have fancy juices and lemonades, but as we really just needed a quick bite, we went for water (that you can just take for free). There were many good looking salads and sandwiches to choose from, but as I'm not always spending my weekends in Stockholm (or Sweden in general), I obviously had to go for some sort of bulle. Cinnamon, cardamom - they had it all, and they looked awesome. But they also had saffransbullar, which is something I hadn't tasted before, so we obviously (both) went for that one. It was very sweet, but extremely good and filling, too. Just because of the distance from the rest of the city, I wouldn't just walk to Skeppsholmen just to go to Café Blom, but if I'll ever visit one of the museums again, I'd definitely go here. It's cosy, not too pricy and did I already say how delicious their food is? Well. Yep.

They offer superior quality hot and pre-made dishes at decent prices, ordered counter style. Their soup of the day during my visit was tomato, served with a generous dollop of tangy yogurt and basil oil. You could tell that this stuff was made fresh, not poured from a can. They have a generous free bread basket that you can help yourself to, providing delicious, hearty, chewy bread to dunk in your soup, or dip in a little dish of olive oil (also gratis). They offer a tempting array of baked goods, but they also sell delicious Danish chocolate bars from Simply Chocolate at the register (I am partial to the "Grainy Sue", which is basically a granola bar covered in chocolate). Seating is plentiful, as they have several rooms set up with tables in different configurations, including an outdoor patio. This is a very kid-friendly environment, and there were lots of strollers lined up at midday. They also offer free Wifi if you're needing to get some internet time in.

Found this pub in Old Town Stockholm when we went to watch some weekend football matches (European…read morenot American). The pub itself had a good vibe where everyone was friendly and genuinely enjoying themselves. The decor of the pub was a lot of a lot of pub signs and usual things that you would find in a pub. It has a small but pretty cool layout when you could go down some winding stairs and find yourself in another seating area. Because of the pubs popularity and game time it was very packed in the bar area but the bar tender did a good job of attending to everyone. As for the food I enjoyed the fries we had and the vegan burger was alright. As you know my ratings go off of the expectations of how the place rates against similar places so as old school pubs go this was good, but do understand that typical old school pubs aren't well lit, don't have all balanced tables, and great seating in the entire place to enjoy the game. So if you're looking for those things you might want to check out some other places.

Matholmen gathers many of Stockholm's food trucks at Skeppsholmen on summertime weekends, with…read moreloungey seating and a great view of Djurgården, Strandvägen, and lots of boats. It markets itself as Sweden's largest food truck fair, and it really is quite big. I had been seeing and reading a lot about Matholmen and decided to make my way over there one Saturday afternoon when I was starting to feel a little peckish. I take it the food trucks present will vary each weekend because when I was there, quite a few of the trucks listed on Matholmen's website weren't there.. hrrm. So who was there? A lot of BBQish/meat-y trucks, with burgers. A lot of Latino-ish trucks. One with donuts, one with dumplings. A crabshack. So you'd think there's something for everyone.. well I can't help but feel overwhelmingly underwhelmed by food trucks in Sweden/Stockholm. Most are, again, really meat-focused with few veggie options - usually a variation of a cheese or mushroom burger. Little to no seafood-fish trucks. Dessert? Shakes? Chocolate? Let's get all the food groups in, guys!

The space was brightly lit, fairly spacious, with comfortable seating, and an inviting atmosphere. I had this almond pastry covered with powdered sugar, along with a Hazelnut Latte. In total, this was around $11. The pastry was absolutely delectable! It was satisfyingly chewy, soft, with actual almond, as well as delightful almond flavor throughout. The Hazelnut Latte was prepared with care, and had a lovely design on top. However, it tasted more like a regular latte. There wasn't enough hazelnut in it. Stopped by another time during my trip, because they were the only bakery-like place still open (most close so early!) I saw they had the Hazelnut Roll, which they were out of last time, so of course I had to get it. The roll was huge, fluffy, flaky, with plenty of hazelnut and hazelnut spread. Mmm! I would be open to trying more from this spot, but would want to check out more non-chain cafes for Fika in the future.
