The eggs are deliciously fluffy and I ate them with the cheeses and smoked salmon every day that it was available. - The WiFi is quite good. - The location is great, being near the city center and very walkable. - The rooms are well soundproofed. - Direct USB connections to the walls means that you can survive without a travel adapter (though I still recommend a universal adapter) - The showers got suitably hot! - Staff were overall pretty friendly. Cons: - The rooms are quite small. - Some amenities are missing that are normal at American hotels. Notably, there was no ironing board, conditioner, mini-fridge, or lotion. - I was charged a corkage fee of 5 EUR to open my own wine at the hotel lobby.. I guess I should just go to my room? The lunch I had at café caumont consisted of a salad and a dessert. Despite not being what I expected, the salad was great and just filling enough. The interior of the café feels like a great setting for high tea (and they do have afternoon tea). The pastry I had after the meal was good, but was heavier on the crust than I expected. While I understand I am paying for a nice experience, the price point was much higher than I expected for my meal. I would definitely return for both Café Caumont and especially any further exhibits.

You walk out of the hotel onto the provincial street. Everything is in walking distance. Although English is spoken here, it is preferred if you use French. We were traveling for many days, staying at different places and this was our last stop. I needed to get some things laundered so I put a few items in the bag and had it picked up. The next day all of my items (but one sock) was returned. In my broken French, I asked the staff who delivered my laundry where the other sock was. He told me I only gave him one sock to launder. Impossible! Why would I only give one sock? He and I went back and forth with who was right...him ,"non, un"...me, "non, deux!" This went on for quite awhile. Alas, I gave in. I left the hotel with only one clean sock!

At night time, there was loud music and bass playing. In order to sleep we needed to shut the windows, but couldn't because we roasted in the room. The bed in the room was the hardest mattress I have ever slept on and could not get a good nights sleep. The hotel itself is cute and quaint with nice furniture. There was more to be desired with the free breakfast. The coffee was not great and there wasn't a lot of good options in my opinion. My mother in law, father in law, and husband sat in the bar area. The bartender was there yet they had waited 15 initial minutes to get service/drinks/food. The place wasn't super busy so I was surprised that service was not top notch. The hotel says they are a five star establishment and at most they are a 2 or 3 star. Lastly, my husband and I laid out at the pool for a few hours. We ended up falling asleep on the chairs and woke up to a lot of bites all over our bodies. The hotel may need some bug control especially in the garden and pool area for no-seeums. I would not recommend this hotel to stay at nor would I stay here again.

The hotel room was incredibly small and looked like it belonged on a psych ward. For paying over $300 a night can I at least get a painting or decoration instead of bare white walls? And if you are over 5'4" using the shower will be deeply problematic. I could not fit inside it or raise my arms. Let's not forget my amazing view of the parking lot, complete with cars honking. AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS!! There are so many options in Aix, don't make the same mistake I did.
