One star, because the wifi works just well enough to book yourself a room at a better hotel in Paris.
This place is garbage. From the zero personality employees, to the hostel-like rooms they are renting. Do not be fooled by the pictures they are showing online. That is not what you will be getting when you book yourself a room at Hotel D'albion.
We walked in around 10am, there was a man sitting at the front desk talking to another employee. Neither of them welcomed us in any way, form or language. We initiated the hello, and they seemed annoyed that we had interrupted their conversation. We asked about any possible early check-in, they said no, and that we could check in at 1pm or 2pm. We asked if there was a place to store our luggage and the man pointed to a door and said "push". Wow, so incredibly useless. So we stored our luggage in some dark office for a few hours.
When we returned around 1:15pm to check in the man was on the phone, he paused and looked at us as if he had never seen us in his life, and asked for our name. Really? Does this guy have short term memory loss? There is no way he has had so many people come through here that he has forgotten us. He hands us a key, points a direction and back to his clearly very important phone call.
When we find our room, no thanks to the front desk clerk, there are dirty sheets piled out in the hallway/in front of the door. So we have to navigate around them to get out of the elevator to the room. After getting the old door open, it hits the bed, yeah the small room thing is no joke. These rooms are tiny and gross. Stains all over the walls, wallpaper peeling off, old nasty bedding. We used the internet to book a room at the Hilton Paris Opera.... Amazing!
As we left, I told the front desk clerk who was still on his cellphone, that the room was not as advertised and we would be staying somewhere else. He yelled at me "Shut the door!"
I am stunned by the reviews of "amazing!" "friendly staff!" These were the rudest people I have ever encountered working in the hospitality industry. There was nothing "amazing" about this hotel or "friendly" about the people working. I would describe them as rude and unhelpful.
Do yourself a favor, do not stay here! Paris has amazing hotels, stay at any of them, don't waste your time or money on this dump. read more
