To be careful, we talked with the booking agent who guaranteed with us that the hotel equipped with air-conditioning. The check-in process was ok and we came to our room that has 2 beds, 1 queen, and one single bed. Within 30' we came down to the receptionist desk to complaint that the room is too hot and the a/c is not working and we got the answer from the clerk..."all hotels in this area are like this, no a/c". So the booking agent, the online hotel's ad were stated that the hotel has a/c but in actuality it doesn't have any a/c at all. It's was a premeditated lie throughout the administrative process. The room was very small with no refrig., no desk, no space and doesn't smell clean. We got a fan from the front desk from the lobby which has a/c. The whole thing was a scam. We encountered tourists like us running around trying find a decent hotel with a/c...so pathetic. We stayed there for 2 days and left it on the 8th to go elsewhere. We will never again do any business with the "accor chain". Found out that breakfast was not included, as it happened, we couldn't wait. €17 per person seems quite excessive. Regarding the iron, fortunately, we had our own. Wrong advice about local restaurants. Told to travel into Bordeaux with a taxi price tag of €30, one way (no mention of the tram). Google helped with a streak house in walking distance. The bar area was unlit and mainly unstaffed. Tried my best with French and also used a translator. Just found it in unfriendly. Bear in mind that the restaurant isn't open at weekends. The public toilets on the ground floor had a terrible smell of urine. So strong, I couldn't use. Used the one for the disabled which was fine. Back to the room and the shower lacked a good pressure. Towels were flimsy. NOTE: These were allegedly executive rooms. Altogether, not good. I won't return.

Service from the bartender was excellent. We had many rounds of drinks. There is a hotel lobby restroom, which is very clean. I loved the real towels instead of paper towels. One elevator was down so the whole hotel was using one elevator. And yes- it does say 8 people or 630kg max, and that was exceeded once. The elevator would not close and people had to get out for the elevator to resume operations! Luckily they have a nice, carpeted, clean and well lit stair case that goes alongside. But don't forget your room key before you get in the stairwell. Our room was very nice. We had a nice coffee maker and a kettle for hot water. Bottled water was included. The mini fridge had few options but all were included. The bed was super comfy. There is a pillow menu if you don't like the pillows they provide. The bedroom window was able to open to allow the cool outside air to enter. The AC was working but was slow to cool. There was plenty of storage space for our belongings - closet with hangers, shelves, drawers; and a suitcase stand. There is a bench in the room for suitcases. They provided two cozy robes and slippers for us. The bathroom had a full size blow dryer - woohoo! The lotions and soaps were nice. The handsoap was new and it was difficult to open the pump. The shower was hot and decent pressure- I like more pressure. There were a lot of hairs in the bathroom that were not ours. The hairs weren't on the floor. They were around the sink and near the vanity area where the makeup mirror is. There is a separate toilet room, which is nice! You can keep the door shut and it doesn't bother the shower and vanity area. We purchased the room with breakfast package. The breakfast was great! They include specialty coffees so I had a flat white. They have lots of breads and pasties, but they also have hard boiled eggs, scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon, vegetables, yogurt etc. it was a nice spread. The honey comb was a unique addition. The hotel was very comfortable and chic. Not many places nearby to walk, compared to staying g in the city center. It was quiet. We found a restaurant within 10 min of walking. They do have parking at the hotel for an extra charge. They also have an outdoor area that includes a garden, but I don't know how to access it. I could see it from my window. I would stay here again. However- many may find staying in the city center to be more pleasing for tourism.

The bathtub was really tall. I could barely climb in! The oddest thing was that there was a tiny window on the floor! You'd have to get on your knees to look outside! They have a huge lobby with lots of sofas and chairs. The front desk provided complimentary bottled water to us whenever we asked, which was a nice touch. I'd stay here again in a heartbeat if I'm lucky enough to visit Bordeaux again.

They also have a great wine bar and tasting service with a comprehensive wine list including of course Bordeaux but also many burgundy choices. They also have a pillow menu with 5 different pillows. Since then it has garnered the highest reviews amongst hotels in Bordeaux on TripAdvisor and the major travel sites. After staying there for several evenings, I'm honestly not sure why that is the case. It appears the hotel has about 25 rooms. On the positive side, the location is right where you want to be, there is a great wine bar that offers evening wine and cheese tastings with a very knowledgeable sommelier for a (hefty) price, and the energetic staff is wonderful and responsive. The downside is there's only so much you can do with a 250-300 year old space to retrofit it into a luxury hotel room that is worth anywhere near what they charge. It's not a bad place, per se, I just can't imagine how this earned its ranking as the "#2 place to stay in Bordeaux." OK place, pricey for what is delivered. Next visit to Bordeaux I'll mix it up and try somewhere different.
