My friends and I went for a week long Paris vacation, to celebrate a birthday and a graduation. What we met when we arrived was a little less than stellar. The rooms supply bare minimum necessities, with outdated wallpaper, no air conditioning, and continually smells of cigarettes. The bathrooms were the best of the rooms but they left a lot to be desired; as the shower setup was hard to maneuver without an actual shower door. And let's not forget the bare minimum cleaning done, as we were met with other's hair in the tub and on the floor. The biggest joke was the carpeting in the room and especially the hallways. Tattered, stained, odorous. "Complementary" breakfast was like a prison rations situation as room numbers were collected with much attitude. Then to add insult to injury, on our final morning before checkout, we awoke to the sound of rustling in the room trash can. What did we find? Not a bug but a RAT. A rat, darting back and forth across the floor. I went downstairs to tell the front desk. I had to wake the attendant up, who was sleeping on the lobby couch. I was met with so much attitude that it was ridiculous. I'm actually standing here in socks, having to justify being pissed off at 5:00 am, because there's a rat terrorizing my room. After little to no help to resolve the situation, like I was being a bother, I was told that a report would be filed to catch the rodent. Well, needless to say, we checked out and left. We contacted Air BNB and provided pictures of our experience, only to be contacted by Air BNB because the hotel denies the rat existed. I'm like, really? Like someone would make this up. Better yet, like someone would want to be bothered with this foolishness, at all. So my advice to any perspective customers... Spare yourself. Pay a little extra and go elsewhere. They will never have to worry about receiving our business again, let alone any referrals or anything of the sort. read more
