The rooms were really small, but they were very very clean and newly remodeled. The bed took up most of the room and had a big indentation in the middle, but we just put a pillow in the middle so we weren't always rolling into each other. :o)
Not much else in the room- a built in small desk with a few shelves and a hanging bar with several hangers. There was a small flat screen on the wall, too, which was nice, although we never turned it on. Our window looked onto a depressing courtyard filled with construction equipment and debris from the remodel. Yuck.
The bathroom was positively tiny, but again, very clean. The sink only came out from the wall about 8 inches, so it was hard not to splash water everywhere when we were brushing teeth or washing faces. Excellent water pressure in the shower with a handheld shower head- nice! Shower was a fine size for me, but my 6'2 boyfriend did not feel so comfortable in there. Also, they provide regular size bath towels and hand towels, but no smaller wash cloths for washing your face.
The proprietors were extremely nice and tried very hard to speak English with us. Between that and our broken French, we were able to communicate pretty well.
One thing I will caution you on is the breakfast they offer- we took them up on it the first day because we didn't know better. It consists of black black coffee, a croissant and a 6 inch hunk of baguette. For 6 euro, which is about $7.50! Don't waste your money- you can get a better breakfast for a good price at some of the cafes nearby.
There are only about 9 rooms in the whole building, and the stairs you haul your bags up are very small and very steep, but I liked that- I thought it was charming. Free Wifi! Good location, close to the Orleans metro stop, within walking distance of the Parc Montsouris(very very pretty for a picnic!) and in a good neighborhood for food, cafes and bakeries. read more
