I found this on AirBnB and we stayed in a two floor suite, big enough for four people (two queen beds). The hotel is flanked by a wildlife preserve on one side and Lac Brome on the other. They have kayaks, oars, and PFDs for you to use during your stay. The preserve and lake are must-sees by water. Even novice kayakers would enjoy this. The downstairs shower in the second bathroom was amazing. It was so needed on sore muscles after a long day of touring, driving, and kayaking. The spa down in the hotel offers a steam room (Hammam), whirlpool spa, sauna. All were excellent. There is also massages, body wraps, facials, and mani-pedis available on site. We didn't use the outdoor pool, but it was a salt water heated one (a big plus). The exercise room needs work-it does not have a/c and the weight equipment needs some lubrication. The restaurant La Brise was very good. Our server was so attentive and made sure my mom had a nice birthday surprise. I will give a review and rating separately for that. We got off to a bad start. I have recently gone vegan...which is not easy. I am not doing it to be difficult, I am doing it because I am an animal lover and I care about our planet. Two weeks ago, I stayed at this hotel with my three best friends. Before booking, I asked if their Découverte gastronomique package (which includes three course dinner and brunch for two days) could accommodate vegans. They said yes, no problem for vegan menu. I asked twice once while booking and then again days before our trip. On the first night I was served a nice tofu noodle dinner which was actually quite good. The only thing they could make for a starter was a salad but it was a sophisticated one. The dessert was a cup of fruit...which isn't dessert. That's all I am going to say. Then, Saturday brunch was disaster. They didn't even have non-dairy milk for my coffee. All I could eat was the basket of toast they plopped on the table. I was pretty pissed and I let the manager know. The reason why I am giving them 4 stars is because the chef really pulled up his socks after this. Saturday night dinner was the best vegan meal I have ever had. For started, the chef made a vegetable tartare finely chopped stacked together with a refreshing and relishing green sauce. He prepared a mushroom risotto which was beyond amazing. I am talking about a variety of seemingly exotic buttery mushrooms, each one unique, cooked to perfection and delicately assembled in my bowl with the delicious arborio rice and herbs. They served chocolate cake for dessert which was pretty good too. Sunday brunch was crepes, fruit with maple syrup and it really it the spot. I hope the restaurant keeps providing delicious vegan meals to it's clients. The chef really has a knack for turning plants into heavenly meals that anyone would truly enjoy. As for the hotel itself. The room decor is a little outdated with it's blue accent paint but it was very clean and comfortable. We really enjoyed the outdoor fire pit in the evening and the pool. There is also a beautiful place to go kayaking behind the hotel in a windy wetland where you can spot all kinds of birds. read more

I don't know how to give a 4.5 star review so the hotel gets a 5. What a great time we had at this establishment. Big thing for us is cleanliness - and this place is spotless. Love the fact that there was vinyl plank flooring in the room rather than carpet. Second is staff - Stephan and well everyone were so accommodating and pleasant. There is a great restaurant called Quilliams at the hotel and it is top notch. We loved that there was access to the lake. We had a ground floor room with a large patio for our own use. I would have loved to have extra chairs for guests but that is not a big thing. I did struggle with the lock on the patio door - I should have reported it. Also since we were on ground level, I would have welcomed a security bar to block the door from opening. Like many hotel rooms, there never seem to be enough easy access plugs for all your electronics - Some at the night tables and desk would be nice. The only other room recommendation I can make is that a table be set up beside the bathroom vanity to accommodate a travellers stuff. There is room for it and it would be appreciated. I think the hotel has a real asset with its lake access and do not understand why they do not do more to enhance the are. Some quality Adirondack chairs set up in groups of four would be much better than the benches. The hotel should avoid the slouch cheap plastic Adirondack chairs on the balconies/patios and move to some that are more conducive to sitting with a drink and chatting. Regardless most of these are minor annoyances- great spot, great staff and clean modern rooms. A 4.5 for sure. read more

Cant say enough good things about the food here. I had a wonderful scallop and mushroon starter and as it is Knowlton, the duck main. They have an excellent wine list with lots of options and real depth. The service on the other hand really let the whole experience down. Our server kept pushing the set menu even after we specifically said no thank you. We then seem to have a series of servers, non of whom refilled our water or wine glasses at any point. After the mains were delivered we where basically abandoned. We had to flag someone down to get a desert menu and when we got the bill we'd been double charged for a bottle of water. There didn't appear to be anyone in charge or directing the staff. Hopefully this was just an off night, and it was busy, but not sure if I'd return. read more
