Food - we shared the chicken schnitzel and it was very tasty. Loved the French fries Service - the reason for the lack of stars. We didn't have any service for quite awhile and the table who was seated after us was served first. Then when we received our meal we asked for another plate since we were sharing. It took a long time so we just sat while our food cooled. Successful in spite of themselves. Ambiance - busy busy and loud. It's fine for who they are
Food was ok not amazing we had a big group so we tried a lot of different items. Pork Knuckle (not amazing) Sausages (Germany has this on lock down. I love all the German Sausages) Service. Was amazing considering the sheer magnitude of this place Ambiance. Just what you would think of the most historic beer house in Germany. Seriously there are stein racks with patron steins going back centuries.
I came here twice and I had great experience both times. This is a very cozy restaurant with good food, chilling vibe and amazing local beer. The last time we were here, we walked in pretty late during the weekend, but they managed to give us a table immediately since we were with a baby. At first we were seated outside, but then it got too hot so we moved inside of an icecream/dessert shop that I believed it belongs to the beer house. We ordered schnitzel, ribs, sausage, and Schweinshaxe (pork knuckle). My favorite was the pork knuckle. We enjoyed our dinner very much and very pleased with the service here. We would definitely come back next time visiting Intelaken. Highly recommend!!!!
Wanted to have some German/Swiss food. Found this restaurant through YELP search. We had the pork schnitzel and the bier-bratwurst, both were very delicious, good portions. The server recommended local beer was also very good. The restaurant was pretty full, we did not make reservation but were seated without a long wait. The environment was friendly, clean and full of positive energy. We love the food so much and returned the 2nd night to have the same dishes again! Very good value!
I went here for a post-kayaking drink and lunch and was really happy with the meal! There is a huge selection of beers, and the ones we got were both great. We also ordered the Pork Schnitzel and Mac & Cheese, and both were SO GOOD. The Jager sauce was really interesting and tasty, and definitely made the schnitzel meal. The Mac & Cheese was good, but nothing amazing and hardly had any bacon in it. I liked the outdoor seating and the service was great, so would go again!
We found this place after eating dinner at three different restaurants in Interlaken. We happened to walk by and the owner was outside and stopped us to tell us about their specials. The fact that they had about a dozen local beers on tap was what made our decision easy. This place was amazing! The local brewery -Barrel Brewing- has something for every beer drinker. The food was very reasonably priced for restaurants here in Interlaken but was well worth the wait. The owner made us feel like we were long time patrons, and we immediately made a reservation for the next night. This place should be a must stop for anyone who wants a good beer with their dinner, or who just likes beer in general!
Wow - absolutely loved our evening meal at Hüsi Bierhaus! Came across this beer house by chance just walking around some of the back streets of Interlaken. Happened upon this place on Wednesday evening, and they had a Schnitzel special that included a choice of Schnitzel preparation, which included a beer. Opted for their house brewed Lager and was fantastic! Liked it so much, I ordered a second one. The schnitzels were great, and the staff were friendly. Spoke English so that was helpful in learning more about the brew house. Can't wait to come back again and try some of their other brews - tomorrow they are debuting their first haus cider!
Excellent beer selection and decent pub food makes this a must stop while you are in Interlaken. We went on a weekday when we were the only people there and the service was surprisingly slow. I was also disappointed to find out that they didn't take credit cards so my guest had to buy my food as I didn't have local currency. They did have my favorite beer and the burger I had was fantastic.

After a long day hiking with 22K steps and approx 31 flights of stairs, I was ready for a hearty dinner and cold beer. I arrived when most tables were full and yet was quickly seated within 10 minutes. The servers were all super friendly and as I knew already what I wanted to eat, it was choosing my beer flight from Hüsi brewery that was "hard." I ordered a flight with the Helles, Hefeweizen, Strawberry Cider (sadly they were all tapped out it's so popular, so I went with traditional hard cider) and the Double IPA. I love beer. Especially when it's served super cold on a hot and humid day with exercise. There wasn't a beer (or cider) in this bunch that I did not LOVE. Mind you, if I wasn't so tired and a lightweight, I would have tried more of the offerings on the menu. The Helles was so light, clean and crisp-as it should be. The Hefeweizen had all the right aromas and flavors. The Cider was very good: not too dry, but definitely not sweet. The double IPA was also excellent. I am not a huge fan of IPAs (often taste like the pith of a grapefruit to me due to the Hops), but I do like doubles and triples and this one hit the spot, with a gentle citrusy taste and crisp mouthfeel. While I waited for my ribs, I saw a couple near me got the Schweinhaxe, aka Pork Knuckle. Mind you, this is one of my favorite Bavarian Dishes that I can also get in Rhineland and it never disappoints. The one I saw served (and took a photo of), was the LARGEST I have ever seen. The skin looked perfectly brown and crisped and the meat was fork tender (from my observation). The German man seated between the couple and me, said it was the largest he'd ever seen as well. It looked amazing and the couple offered me a taste, but I politely declined-I knew I had a large meal ahead of me. I joked that it must have been some large pig to have had a knuckle that large. My ribs came and they were piping hot (no complaint). The sauce was excellent, as it was tomato forward and not sweet with a hint of spice. The ribs themselves were PERFECTLY cooked. I know someone else who reviewed said theirs were tough (I ordered them anyway) and they were so tender and moist that they literally fell off the bones. The coleslaw was vinegar based (THANK YOU) and refreshing. The fries were perfectly crisp on the outside and tender on the inside. If you can't tell by now, I loved everything about this meal. It was also clear I was starving because I inhaled the entire plate of ribs and downed the beers in about 20 minutes. Not very European style of eating, but hunger took precedence. The music was fantastic: a lot of 90s grunge and also some U2, a few other cool bands that ahem, you know, was from my youth. The servers hustle and do a thorough job of being both friendly and helpful. One stopped to have a quick chat with a couple and their cute dog. Two came by to see if my meal was okay. I watched them rush around with food, drinks, and also two different servers cleaned a table after a couple left (the one cleared and cleaned while the other cleaned it again even though it was bare)-so there's no hygiene issues here. I was surprised to see the place cleared out by around 19:15-I expected it to be slammed all night. It was a Monday though and I'm sure the late night crowd was still napping. I would have loved to sit and drink another one of the amazing beer offerings, but as I said, I was beyond tired and worried someone would have to roll me back to my hotel, an 11-minute walk away. Lastly, the prices are unreal for this area. My meal, beer flight and 10% tip (come on, people, 5-10% is welcome in Switzerland-don't forget to show your appreciation), came to 51CHF. That's a bargain. I would absolutely come back here in heartbeat. It's truly a gem. Now to see if they sell their beers in the COOP or Migros so I can take them home... read more

The pork knuckle MADE this meal worth it! The pork skin was crunchy and yummy, paired with mashed potato's, red cabbage sauerkraut, and gravy... you could tell that it was with great technique! Not to dry and my parents loved it -- they are the kind who are pretty picky when it comes to any sort of American/german/etc food. The pork ribs were yummy with a tangy bbq sauce on it but a bit dry. The fries/chips were so yummy though! The bratwurst was not that great and $22. It came with a weird potatoes square salad and the same red cabbage sauerkraut. Overall, it was a meal well spent. $122 for 4 people which is so worth. Odd thing is they did have a "restaurant" tax of $8 which I have never seen at other Swiss restaurants. Service was good. Ambience felt like a sports bar, and the wait before 5pm was not bad at all Would recommend if yall like meat and potatoes! read more
Stopped by on our way to our hotel. Located in a square with other restaurants and businesses. It was very busy, but we managed to get a table outside. They do also have inside seating. I got their nachos. I will admit I didn't like them, but I'm used to south Texas type of nachos. The salsa was sweet and the chips looked seasoned, but the flavor was lacking. I didn't try their beer. Prices are about the same as all the restaurants nearby. You'll spend $20-$30 for your dish. read more

Went around dinner time. We were seated immediately. Got food in maybe 20-30 minutes. Got the full rack ribs and French fries. Very very good. Great service and atmosphere. Would highly recommend. read more

Best beer house in Interlaken. I had such a great time here, I went here 3 times during my stay. Twice for lunch and drinks, and once for dinner. They have an extensive beer list, as well as quite a few native Swiss dishes. The staff is also incredibly friendly here and they remember you when you come back! The first time here, I had a traditional Swiss dish that consisted of bread, meat, pickles, eggs, and tomatoes and lettuce. It's somewhat of an open face sandwich and it's not for everyone but definitely worth a try. In my opinion, the portion is big enough to share! However, the second time I had a cheeseburger and it was cooked to perfection. I tasted a lot of different things here in terms of beer. Most notably the Grimbergen Saison, White Frontier Peach beer, and an apple cider. All so great! This place can get pretty packed on any day. No need to dress up here. We showed up in our leggings and hiking boots and fit right in. read more

Very good. Great little brewery/pub with Swiss dishes and great beers. It was busy so sat at the bar until our table was ready but once it was ready, service was prompt. Had a couple of different beers and also for the pork knuckle and the macaroni. Both of which very flavorful. The pork was tasty and fell off the bone. The skin was crispy. The mashed potatoes and gravy underneath it where yummy and even the cabbage was very tasty. Gets very busy in the evening so I'd recommend getting there early to get a table or you'll have to wait. But worth it read more

After spending the afternoon paragliding in Interlaken, we wondered the street in search of beer and food to recharge. Super glad we found this gem! This place was so lively and packed with what seemed to be locals. We snagged a table for two in the corner and started off by trying their local craft brews from Interlaken. While I opted for an IPA, my hubs went for the pale ale. Definitely solid choices! We both decided to try the special for dinner, Wiener Schnitzel, served with a side of cranberry dipping sauce, fries and salad. It was so good and super filling! The atmosphere was warm, upbeat and welcoming, giving off all good vibes! Our server was attentive and friendly, making us feel welcome and relaxed. You really can't go wrong here! Perfectly situated around the Swiss Alps in Interlaken, it's not a pub to miss! read more

This was the liveliest looking restaurant in a town that is past its prime. I don't know if this is how Interlaken always is, or if we were there off season (April). We cancelled our 2nd night and headed to Bern. A good selection of beers and competent service. Advertised as the best burger in town, I must warn Americans that this burger was did not appear to be an all beef patty. I definitely tasted some pork. It was also shaped in a too-perfect circle. Not a fan. My husband liked his goulash, though again, it was not like American goulash, but tasty, nonetheless. read more

DO NOT MISS THIS PLACE! From start to finish everything from service and ambiance, to food and drink quality was an A+++!!! My server Valentina, was very knowledgeable about the menu and recommended a local IPA made just for this store. Sold. I am normally a wine drinker, but this IPA was well balanced, citrus forward and finished too smoothly. So good. My husband and I started with the nachos. Perfectly warm and the chutney on top was magnificent. For main courses he ordered the Swiss burger and I order the bratwurst with roasted potatoes. This bratwurst made me do a happy dance over and over! Super juicy, very tender and jam PACKED with flavor. It has that slight heat you want to keep coming back for. Do yourself a favor and stop through here. Even if it's just for an appetizer and a beer. You'll thank me later. read more

Such a great place. The staff were so kind 'Coz of which we stayed for a longer time, drank and ate more. Their in-house brews were amazing! The food was delicious too. I would recommend this place for their beer, food, people, hospitality and ambience. read more
This place is crowded and it's 9pm on a Thursday. The waiters all speak English. we order 1. pork knuckles 36.50 Frank's and it a slow tender braised pork knuckles with crackling served with mashed potato red cabbage and red wine jus. fatty and juicy but overwhelming share it. 2. Mac and cheese 18.50 is a Swiss specialty with macaroni served in a creamy sauce with bacon and diced potatoes topped with cheese and grilled until brown which is served with Apple sauce. delicious but also huge make sure u share it my husband also got a Hogarten tap and fell in love with it for about 4 franks. be wary that a diet coke also cost about 4 franks. Very cool atmosphere and place to hang out. read more
