There's a beautiful playground right in front of the entrance that looked well maintained. There are also covered tables so you can sit outside and eat or do any other table top activities. They have two large gyms with bleachers on one side. They also had two activity rooms that could be set up to be used for many things such a trainings, baby shower, etc. Each of the rooms has a sink and the bathrooms are right next door. Bathrooms were also well kept. If you live in the neighborhood or need to host an event, I would suggest looking into this location.

You'd think this sort of think no longer exist they way people complain about not having any resources for their kids around summer. The complex has an outdoor pool, and play ground, basketball court and hold all sort of line dance classes, empowerment classes and yes, aqua zumba lessons. They also have volleyball, guitar lessons, and open gym at the basketball court several times a week My class was cancelled due to rain. When I went to pay the $5 drop in fee for the class the receptionist was not aware the class had been cancelled, when no one showed up near the 11am start time, I went back to the desk and the receptionist said the instructor had called and verified the class cancelled in the ten minutes I was there waiting for the class to begin and refunded me the $5. I'm for sure going back since they offer different fitness classes and most of them have a drop in rate of $5-7, some of them even give a discount for seniors citizens. A wonderful business for the neighborhood and great activities for kids.

The river was quiet, very wide, and easy to paddle and navigate. Several spots had small rapids, but were fun and little water got into the boats. The boats and paddles were very well kept and comfortable. Reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is that we had to wait a very long time for the shuttle to pick us up. They also seemed a little disorganized. But overall we had a great experience and would definitely do it again.

(Southern Conservation Trust) I visited on opening day, August 13th, 2016. This expansive nature area has many features. There's hiking, geocaching, fishing, canoeing and more! I even remember seeing a landscape painter stationed quietly along one of the hiking paths. Fayette county is really expanding. After Pine Wood movie studios moved in, things have been growing rapidly. The timing was perfect for creating a nature area. "The Ridge is a City of Fayetteville public green space project. After years of desiring to develop the nature area, the City engaged Southern Conservation Trust to develop and manage the public use nature area."(Southern Conservation Trust) "Over 200 acres of the 308 acres of the Ridge that are not wetlands were clear cut in the 1820's, and farmed up to the mid 1960's, with only a few patches remaining of "old growth" trees or vegetation." (Southern Conservation Trust) After hiking along some of the trails, you can tell the land used to be farm. There were left over tree houses, metal barrels (stills), rope swings & places where cows rubbed bark off trees and waded in the shallow creek. I went by myself because on opening day there were many people there & I felt safe. I'd never go by myself on a day unlike opening day because the park is very expansive. You can be by yourself for hours- if you'd like. This park would be perfect for a group hike & picnic. I'm happy to have this green space set aside in Fayette County especially as our county grows expansively.

First time throwing an axe. We had a FANTASTIC time!…read more The process is easy peasy. You can either make a reservation and put down a deposit or walk-in and take care of your needs on the spot. We had the indoor lane as you come into the location, right upfront. You get a lane Coach, ours was Colt. He's AWESOME and FUNNY! Great guy! You get to practice beforehand to test your ability, axe weight, etc. This was so much fun! The most appealing and gratfying part for me is the axe flying through the air, with safety being top priority at all times. This is a great way to have fun, kick back, and let off some steam! Definitely coming back! Good stuff!
