After sharing tax documentation for my father, Philip worked quickly to prepare drafts of the tax returns within two days. We signed and finalized the tax return e-filing the very next day. He was able to walk through the complex real estate related capital gain/loss tax issues from step-up basis from a death of the spouse, federal exclusion for principal residence to NJ refund of estimated gross income tax collected at the time of closing. In fact, he had prepared the appropriate refund claim documents that I can send to NJ Division of Taxation without any additional charge; I am quite pleased that Philip did not require an additional fee to the initial quote that he provided as the response to my Yelp request for these extra claim documents. I feel that PA Financial, CPA had charged a reasonable tax preparation fee given the complexity of the tax issues involved. All throughout the tax preparation process, Philip was responsive to my questions and concerns and accommodated for the difference in timezone (I lived in CA).
