Parking lots are also available nearby (I parked at the open lot across it). Hopefully I'll go back here with my friends and relatives to exercise and enjoy at the same time :3

City Kart provides a 700-meter clean track with challenging technical turns and ramps. They use imported, professional-grade karts that make it safe to try. From the owner (Mark) to the game masters (we had Carlo and Sam), we were treated like royalty. We were a big family celebrating my niece's 15th birthday, and Escape Hunt provided a nice cake for the birthday girl. All 14 of us also played at the same time and the staff volunteered to look after our 3 little ones under age 7 since it was not yet a busy hour. And of course the games were so much fun! It required lots of teamwork, critical thinking, problem solving, fast decisions, and even some math (yes!) but it was all worth it. Good thing we were the only ones scheduled to play during our assigned time because I'm pretty sure we got pretty loud. :) Definitely a place to visit for locals and tourists alike. And since their 3 themed rooms change every 6 months, there is so much more to look forward to. Thanks Escape Hunt Manila for a wonderful family bonding experience! We'll be back!

And while we might not be as cutthroat competitive as we used to be on who earns the most tickets or who gets to purchase that giant stuff toy, we make sure to play all our favorite games to de-stress ourselves. (Except when it comes to air hockey. All bets are off. We are crazy competitive with air hockey.) Games like Mario Kart and DDR. Or my personal favorite, Silent Hill. Or whatever horror-themed game lets us shoot zombies or equally undead beings on a rampage. Then a crowd gathers around us for some reason, and we keep adding credits and reviving ourselves either until we beat the boss at the end of the game or bleed to death onscreen when we run out of tokens and can't rush to the loading station in time. Then we lose, and the realization sinks in: "Crap. We spent all that money on video games...Oh well." Timezone is fun, plain and simple. To this day, I still keep my Power Cards in my wallet.

There's a particular suction that gathers all the balls in a suspended basket and you press a button to release it into the room, just bouncing balls a-crazy for a good few seconds everywhere! Why didn't they have that when I was a kid? I particularly like that the airconditioning is nice and strong throughout the complex, so kids can play in comfortable room temperature. My only qualm is that they have such few cubby holes for shoes and diaper bags. Definitely do not leave any valuables so pick up your iPads because this area is open and unguarded, though still within the play place. Sundays after lunch are when it is usually packed. There's a small kid area with its own ball pit and mini slide so the toddlers can have a spot to themselves away from the rowdier 6-year-olds and up. Active Fun also has a big slide that younger kids can ride with their adult companion. (NOTE: Bring socks!) I felt like the rooms seemed a bit dated and old, and the way to solve our room was very challenging since it had to do with us actually removing things on walls rather than look at any patterns. The decor in our little room inside of the escape room could have been better because it was like it was handpainted or something. The props also felt like they weren't new. Joey and Shelby were very nice and gave hints. Since we were split into smaller pairs though, I wish the hints were given equally among the group because Joey would always give a hint to the other half of our group in the other room like 3x when we wanted one hint too. They gave us a sticker too related to the room and you get a discount for if we wanted to do another room together that same day. Overall, it was a fun experience and was at times frustrating but the hints definitely were very helpful.

Mystery Manila is the first live room escape game in the Philippines. What's great is that there are themes & subplots for different rooms to choose from. The themes & size of the room can differ per branch or month. In the Jupiter street branch, the room is quite small but the players (maximum of 7 per room) can still move about freely. There were 3 mystery rooms and we tried the Harry Potter one. You don't have to love or have knowledge about Harry Potter to solve the mystery so everyone can play. We even got to wear our very own cloaks. It definitely helped to internalize and think like a witch or wizard! The room and props looked great - some a bit worn out from usage but it adds to the antique-y vibe of the theme. I'm not going to spoil everyone so I'll just say that my friends and I enjoyed and the best part is, we finished the game in record time! They have merchandise as well. If you're on the early slot, they might give you a promo for a next game like they did with us but we already have tickets for Avengers so we did not avail of it. But what a disappointment for the activities. I agree it was a Sunday, but boy the place was crowded and noisy! It was packed with people gathering over food, loud music and screams at the picnic area. And there was only one food stall in the whole park. We situated ourselves near the entrance of the door to see what appetizers would be coming up next. The serves made sure that our glasses were always filled to our drink of choice. For dinner we went to another room. It was exquisitely embellished with flowers and drapery as we entered the ballroom. The Manila Philharmonic Orchestra played throughout dinner. When it was time to serve the first course they had the "Waiters March". Music was played while the servers all marched in a line and strategically placed themselves near their respective tables to serve each table at the same time. It was a scene out of a cruise line. The food was well presented as well as mouth watering goodness. One of the main courses was plated in a paper box with the initials of the bride and groom.
