Food was ok, a bit overpriced for what it was. The ambiance of the restaurant was like a typical Japanese Kaiten restaurant however the staff wasn't on par. Service was far below expectations, the Kaiten boats were empty, needed to order the food with the chef. Drink service from the other staff was slow. We visited this restaurant because we love conveyor belt sushi and I thought the boats were adorable. However, the sushi was extremely disappointing and overpriced. Most dishes came covered in a heavy sauce and tasted mediocre. There was very little variety floating around despite three other groups dining at the same time. We had four plates and two beers for 30 euro, there were no lower priced or vegetarian options floating around. This was the only time we have ever left a sushi place and needed to get more food somewhere else. On the plus side there is a nice aquarium filled with tropical fish and sea stars if you are more interested in wildlife than dinner. read more

The stream of little wooden boats and aquarium of "Nemos" and sea stars was so enchanting that even my 5 year old had to try sushi. And now she LOVES it and begs to go back every week! This may night be the sort of rec that many Berliners are after, but at Ike Su you'll find your fair share of tables with smaller diners gobbling up sushi. If that sends you running...well, good! More sushi for us! I've seen a few reviewers complaint about the selection or that certain parties were given plates directly -- just place an order with one of the chefs or the host/hostess. I liked this place, but would not rate it more than ok. Fish was good, prices acceptable. But in terms of taste I would say it was little too simple. Plus the portions were really small, mostly two pieces per plate. Only two or three dishes were really original. The rest was very simple and plain. Some of them had too much rice compared to fish flavor (eg. fried rice pizza). So I keep on looking for a good sushi in Berlin. read more

Not quite sure how this place manages to get 5 stars. I went with my girlfriend based solely on the positive score. The sushi selection was pretty terrible, seemed to be primarily consisting of salmon and prawn. We saw the same sad rolls go around that nobody wanted and lots of empty boats. It's was quite pricey too. We spent 40 euros, and this was at happy hour, and immediately had to go to another restaurant for a bite because we were still hungry. Very average sushi and fairly expensive. The staff was nice and I did like the desserts but I found the sushi itself fairly dry and the focus was not on fresh fish and just good classic sushi but more on creative recipes with the main flavors coming more from the sauces than the fish. There were a couple of tasty choices but overall I wasn't too impressed. And you pay extra for the proximity to Kudamm and the conveyor belt. read more

We went there on a slow night mid-week. We liked the conveyor belt sushi concept with the boats, but it was flawed to say the least. All dishes are priced differently, from €3,50 to €5,50. The problem is that there we're little to no €3,50 or €4,- sushis to choose from and when they were put on the boats they we're picked up instantly by other hungry customers. We were really dissatisfied that some customers (probably regulars) were handed the plates directly, thus limiting the supply of affordable sushis to other customers. The sushi was standard if not substandard in its presentation and taste. 90% of the dishes had salmon in it - no variety as such. The tempura combination sushi was so hard and doughy it was awful. Could have been an off night but one off night with sushi is one too much. Ambience was so-so. The floating belt is a gimmick at best. We were sat there waiting for 5 minutes between two pieces of sushi staring at an empty belt with a half-full restaurant and the same 3 plates circling round and round. Between two people, and we ate no more than 6 sushi plates which usually have two pieces on them - the bill was about 40 with two soft drinks. read more
