If you value your cookie, you will splurge (within reason) for quality and cleanliness. 5) I cannot stress the importance of the highest level of clean hygiene standards, especially with regard to your cookie - treat it well! 6) I've been seeing Jo since I moved back to Glasgow, and she's a good mix of professionalism, quality and good banter. I'm very pleased with the work she does, and I have no hesitations about going back to her for future appointments. Jennifer (the owner) and Anna, from what I hear, are also great alternatives. I can say with confidence that everyone there does a great job, I mostly see Nicole, and they are fantastic at putting you at ease with no surprises. They moved to a new premises I think about a year ago and it's just lush. If you are thinking of getting any grooming done, male or female, I can refer with confidence. Without going into too much detail, they are very fussy about the products they use, and it's the only place I've been too where I don't look like a plucked chicken afterwards.

I had my baby girl with me in her pram and that wasn't an issue at all. The girls in the salon totally fussed over her and she was happy as can be. My brows were shaped and I was in/out in under 10 minutes. On a Friday they give their customer's goodie bags as a thank you AND if a friend refers you you'll get £5 off! Not too shabby! They have a range of brow packages if you like to get yours tinted, etc but the basic brow wax will run you £8.50 which for the quality of treatment is great. I had a bit of a reaction to their oil post wax but they were super helpful and have a different oil and a plan in place for me next time I go and have been messaging me to check in on my brows! Also it's worth mentioning there is a pretty epic glitter wall. Who doesn't love a glitter wall?

Moments later I received an email stating my appointment had been rescheduled then cancelled. Completely confused by what was going on, I called West End Wax. There was no apology, and no return call to try and reschedule the appointment in the week prior to my flight. In the past this did cause some trouble when I went in for a 9am appointment before starting work at 10.30am and arriving with really red and swollen looking eyebrows. Not really the customer friendly look to have while trying to sell comfortable hotter shoes to the 60+ ladies of Glasgow.... Anyhow, I love this place. It's really handy and the staff will always try their best to find a last minute spot to squeeze you in. They also have slightly longer opening hours which means a lot of the time you can pop in straight after work without having to work through lunch and leave early or any of that malarkey. The treatment rooms are on the small side, but they are very comfortable and well equipped. While, the decor is bright, airy and everything is clean and tidy. As mentioned previously the staff are very pleasant, chatty and always friendly - even at 6pm on a Thursday when they are getting rushed off their feet for a late night despite a long day. The business is also open almost all the time! It was even open on Christmas eve (I didn't actually go on Christmas eve but I was a few days earlier and heard all about it). So you're bound to find a time that suits you to pop in here. The treatments are also done pretty quickly - in the efficient way, not the slap, bash, dash ahhhh my skin way. Additionally, their prices are really reasonable, for example for an eyebrow wax and tint and a some more waxing you can expect to pay under £15. It's all good.

There was a little confusion as I hadn't specifically wanted either the 3pm or 3:20pm slot, I just booked them both for myself and my friend, however despite it making more sense for my friend to go in the first slot, they wouldn't change our times around. Although they do have electronic beds to adjust the height, which I gather for shorter people than me (5ft 10) this would come in useful, plus it is heated. Although I did ask half way through for the heat to be turned off as I felt like I was being cooked...but that's just me and heat! The massage itself was good, she did as I asked and didn't shy away from the painful parts (no pain no gain)! A complementary facial had been included which was basic but relaxing. I advised her of my sensitive skin so she used the sensitive lotions, which still stung slightly, but I've had worse! Arriving back at reception my masseuse, Natalie, had left a postcard advising me to get more massages to help with the problem areas, which was sweet, and giving me another excuse to get more :) Based on my experiences alone I would recommend them, however my friend who was with me didn't have such a good time. She didn't have a heated bed, which was a shame since she is the heat lover, and her masseuse didn't follow her instructions and performed a relaxing massage rather than one that tackled the knots. Overall, I'd probably go back if I was in the area or couldn't get into a more local one. It's handy as it is in Silverburn, up the stairs to the left of Yo-Sushi/Debenhams, if you are there for some shopping too, and the premises is very modern and stylish. Price wise, it was £32 for half an hour of massage, with the complementary facial. It's a little on the pricer side, I guess due to it's location.

As I'm away on holiday next week, I booked myself in for a mani-pedi, knowing that Becca would have her work cut out for her with my chewed up, uneven nails. After soaking, exfoliating, massaging and shaping (heaven!), Becca paints on your colour of choice and cures your shellac ensuring up to 3-weeks of chip free nails! I'm pretty new to shellac, so I found this unbelievable and akin to witchcraft, but Becca assures me everyone knows about it and I'm just behind the times. My pedicure took almost an hour as I enjoyed my poor wee feet getting pumiced, exfoliated and pampered, before having matching shellac nails applied. I am also in love with the barbie pink foot-grater that Becca uses, and now I can't stop stroking my baby soft heels... Although BW does an express manicure for if you're in a hurry (30mins approx), if you have the time i'd recommend the full works.
