Pretty cool heady shop on St Marks. I was wondering around the area and was getting upset that I was only finding china made quartz and glass. Then I stumbled into i-Vape. I had a good experience here; they have genuine headies and the store is nicely organized with god lighting. The store stocks good quality American made glass and quartz. The staff is also generally knowledgable. The prices were a smidge higher then I am used to but considering the area the prices are probably fair. Not to mention that in the immediate area they seem to be the only "real" game for heady. My friends have since told me they are familiar with the location and also agree they have a nice selection. So if you are in the area and want to see some nice glass art or just need some sort of vape or vaping accessory stop in. i-Vape is a gem in a city of legitimately no good head shops, at all. The sales people actually know stuff here. They sell all sorts of great artist glass from $200 to thousands of dollars as well as non artist glass for those on a budget. They also have a super wide selection of American quartz nails including toro terp slurpers which are absurdly rare. And they have a wide selection of all the other stuff a headshop should have like blunts, pApers, ecigs/vapes, and other vape/weed accessories. I don't normally (read never) do this to a new business, but what I experienced in the minute I stood inside i-Vape was so beyond the pale, I feel compelled to tell everyone in the East Village to take a train or walk to Soho and hang out at the sleek, modern vapor bar/store, Henley Vaporium. I went in because I left my backup in my friend's car and he's a flake. I don't want to buy a new battery before he mails it back to me or I go back to CA. I was in the E Village (Veselka and Cafe Mocha), saw this store, and figured I could charge up. All I needed was an outlet (which I got at Cafe Mocha along with a glass of wine and coffee), but I like to look at new vape stores, so I went inside. Well, it's not a bar. It's just a store. One lady was buying a new tank (40 bucks, a fancy one which did look nice). When that transaction finished, I explained my plight and asked to charge up. This white guy with an obnoxious non-New York and faintly Southern accent was rude from the get go. He said they don't charge people's things and with not a soul in the store playing that truly odious country music s***-kicker song, I was annoyed. I said, "Really? I've never had that happen and I visit lots of stores." Then he not only states the policy of the owner, but enforces it with gusto. No apology, no sheepish, "The boss is very strict about this." Nada. Upon reflection, what so angered me is that vapers are supposed to stick together. There is a code among vapers: it's US vs the ANTZ (anti-nicotine and tobacco zealots). I used to write for the Huffington Post (as a blogger not staffer) until the mess surrounding my article about e-cigs and the NYC City Council usage ban on 12/19/2013 (time flies!). I went on a podcast in February to discuss my apparent dismissal and found myself blocked days later. With all the stupidity, the propaganda, and the lies, solidarity among vapers is key. This guy was a hostile jerk with no social skills. He's also a bear of little to nonexistent brain, because when a girl in a pretty coat with a fur collar and lots of jewelry walks into your hideous, empty store (more on this in a moment), any employee with half a brain obliges her. I am quite sure this man is single and not happy about that inevitability, but it's not my problem/fault he developed his personality in a car crash (line from the film adaptation of David Mamet's Sexual Perversity in Chicago, About Last Night) and chose to do nothing about his personality problems. I was so shocked by his rudeness that I asked how long this store had been here (and keep in mind I was Miss Smiley at the outset). He said not long. I said, "Oh, well, I'll tell everyone I know to go to Henley in Soho." He was sullen and hostile to the end. So I'm delighted to be the first person on Yelp to say this: After you've had a blintz or matzoh ball soup or borscht at Veselka, get thee to Spring Street and hang out at a true place of community which doesn't look like something in a Reseda strip mall. (That's a not very desirable part of the San Fernando Valley, though not nearly as bad as Van Nuys or Canoga Park--for New Yorkers who, if they know the Valley at all, know Calabasas from Ray Donovan/the Kardashians, or Encino, an upscale Jewish suburb). It's tacky, overly bright (fluorescents) and all those garish bong-like objects are clearly pitched to cannabis users, rather vapers proper. I can tolerate ugly decor and terrible music on a road trip through the middle of nowhere (Inyokern, somewhere between Bishop/Mammoth and the Mojave Desert/Death Valley), but only a blind person could have designed this store. It's not funky or bohemian: it's just ugly. Yes, they sell some very high-end stuff (not your basic EVOD Kangertech or Vision spinners). But so do a lot of other places which don't employ a man who has no business in *any* branch of customer service. Lest you think I'm being too harsh, look at my graphs. I am enormously generous on Yelp. A preponderance of my reviews are 4 and 5 stars. I love helping worthy businesses and sharing cool places with Yelpers and others who read my work. My brother bought a wood pipe for me here for my birthday; I needed a glass pipe. Their receipts state that they do not do exchanges or returns but the people working in the store allowed me to trade the wood pipe in for it's value in store credit. I used that credit to buy a really nice glass piece. I dealt with two staff members, both of whom were very professional and courteous. All of my questions were answered quickly and knowledgeably. Prices are a little high here but this is definitely the best head shop on St. Marks. They do have cheap plastic "water pipes" but also a really nice selection of glassware. Virtually all of the negative Yelp reviews are related to vaping in some way. I think the store's name is probably a bit misleading - they seem to be a lot more centered on glassware than vape products. read more

This store masquerades as an alternative to other smoke and vape stores in the region. Their main competition is Beyond Vape - a store they love to trash - saying they have better prices. In fact, during my experience with them I spent $100 and then was forced to spend another $60 as a piece was broken in two weeks which they blamed me for and then broke again in one week when I hadn't even touched it. When I spoke to Abbass (the supervisor) he yelled at me and told me this was a business and to man up. I subsequent went to Beyond Vape where they were willing to look at my vaporizer, try to fix it for an hour and then explained if I buy from them it is not only cheaper, but they will give me a two week in-store warranty. Basically, I put my faith into I-Vape and they were nothing more then scum. Unfortunately... I really thought they were more then that. Mateo is so great! He's my go to guy for all accessories! The store is very clean and the music is always cool. The employees are very nice and never pushy which is really nice vs all the St Marks vendors that are just basically grabbing you into their huts or whatever you call those. i-Vape has pretty much everything you need to get the job done. They have everything from trays, grinders, bowls, containers, zippos, papers, glass pieces, detox shots, ash trays and just so much more. The reason why I love this store so much is because they aren't pushy at all. Just very chill fellas working! read more

When I arrived it was quite the opposite; they had maybe 25% of the sizes and were out of other things. I-Vape in the East Village ROCKS!!! I recently moved to NYC. 2 years ago I quit smoking 1-2 packs of Camel Blue Cigarettes a day and have been smoking Mark 10 XL ever since. Mark 10 XL have become a bit hard to find and are quite expensive especially in NYC. I walked into I-vape to look into switching to a vape stick and buying the juices as it seemed potentially like a more affordable way to go. My problem was/is that they are bulky, expensive to get the stick/device and I have yet to find a juice that I liked. Sensing I was unsure about going that route Doug, one of the guys that works there, asked me if I have ever tried the JUUL. I said I have heard of it but have not tried. One of the other sales guys let me try his and the thoroughly and patiently went over everything from the flavors to how to charge etc etc. Doug explained that there was a special $20 off for a starter kit making it $30 instead of $50 and that although I wasn't a fan of the flavors the starter kit came with it was less expensive to buy that and a pack or 4 the classic tobacco pods. I thought about it and decided if their price was the same or less then JUULs website I would buy it. I got my phone that they were charging for me and they won. It was $20+ dollars less to buy it at I-vape then online. In a city that has so many stores and a street that every other store sells similar items it was nice to find an honest, helpful, and well staffed store that cares about their customers! HORRIBLE - RUDE - NASTY - GREEDY Purchased an item, 1 min post purchase I got into my car, unwrapped my item and it is broken in half. Walked right back in to show (likely while wrapping it broke *perfectly* in half) and ask them to replace it, nicely. Guy working there replies that it's my fault and I dropped it just to get money - how that makes any sense is beyond me. He wouldn't even look to see how it was broken!! I didn't want my money back, I wanted a NOT broken item which was paid for less than 3 minutes ago. Regardless, they suck and I would never step foot in there again. Absolute rip off! This is my first yelp review, I'm normally extremely lazy when it comes to site like yelp and would never bother taking the time to review businesses no matter how good or bad they are. But I had to make an exception for this one. After having an awful experience myself and reading the reviews here (I really wish I had read some of the reviews before coming here) I realized they always tell the same two lies to customer: 1) If you find something cheaper in another store or online, then its fake. 2) Its only cheaper online because you have to pay for shipping. I bought tank and a box from them for a total of $150.00 after haggling for almost an hour (They originally wanted 210.00 from me!) I left fairly happy thinking I got a great deal, so I go online the next day to check the two items I bought... Most expensive listing I found for the exact two items were $80.00!! And to make myself feel even worst I found out that Beyond Vape right across the street had the exact item in stock for 74.99... Avoid this place! This is the worst customer service experience I have EVER had. I bought an iTazte battery and Kangertech Aerotank for my boyfriend for Christmas for $100. Within two weeks the tank was broken, and since they "have run to a business" according to the manager they were unable to help us out except for a 5 dollar discount on a new one. Not surprisingly, two weeks later the second one stopped working as well. We were told it was OUR FAULT that they had broken. We then went across the street to a legitimate vape store/bar and were told the tank was a possible counterfeit. Not only are they selling fake pieces but the prices are outrageous. We paid half the price across the street for the same battery and tank. Plus the liquid selection was crap and we couldn't even try them before buying at i vape. They even changed their name when a better store opened across the street. Do not buy anything there- it's overpriced, defective, and they will not do a SINGLE thing to help you out. It bothers me to be reading these negative reviews. I think some of this harsh feedback has to do with the fact that people don't understand they have to pay more money to get quality products, especially glass. You can totally find a cheap bong on St. Marks for $20 but if you want a piece that's going to last you for a while, you'll probably end up spending more like $60-80 for your low end, basic beaker bong for example. Additionally, you can find counterfeit nicotine vapes on eBay, but they are fake mods/parts. I-Vape doesn't sell clones because I know people who've purchased more than one vape from here. I had an especially great experience last time I went here. Bought a new nail and torch and was given a free super cute keychain dabber. The staff is super knowledgeable here. Don't buy products from a cheap bodega where the person working there has never dabbed or vaped lol. Purchase products from a place where the staff members actually USE the pieces they sell. I bought an e-vape and from the beginning, I couldn't get it to work. I thought i was not inhaling correctly and I looked online and followed the procedure (it's not that difficult, I wasn't doing anything drastically wrong), yet still I couldn't get the thing to work. I took it back and a guy that helped out when I bought it told me that there's something wrong with the battery. He says I have to buy a new battery and I told him I just got it a few days ago and he gave me a discount on the battery. So I started using it again and the next day when I went to charge my battery, it melted. Luckily I noticed right away, not sure what might have happened if I wasn't there to notice the smell. I went back to the store and told him the battery is dead again and he told me I have to buy a new battery. I complained further this time and he gave me a bigger discount. I started vaping again and now, the smoke doesn't come out. Something's wrong with the top part. My wife bought me a vape from another store and that one works fine. It's just impossible for so many batteries and other parts that go wrong from this store. I can only conclude this store sells defective items and scams you to buy more. DO NOT BUY. read more
