Paid for a new gun that I ordered in February, it's now September 7th and I don't have the gun I paid cash for. I was told that they were moving, however they still had the gun on order and they would contact me when it arrived and meet up with me to get the paperwork done and then deliver after the waiting period. Terrible attitudes the minute you walk in the door and a VERY sensitive owner. I was looking for someone to replace the sights on my pistol and I came here. After being told it would be ready at a certain time (24 hours+), when I called to ask about the status and if it was ready, I was told angrily "just come pick it up. We're not doing it anymore". I picked it up and the owner tried to give me some rant about "we're not going to rush ourselves" after withholding my property for 10 minutes. This place is a joke. I took my pistol to another local shop (way more professional and welcoming, I wont say who BUT there's a great taco spot next to it) and they were able to help me right on the spot and got it done in 20 mins with respect. LIARS, told me on the phone that they would hold my Sig P229 to ship to a buyer's FFL until their check cleared my bank. "Ya, sure no problem we can do that" until today when i went into the store and they have no idea what I'm talking about and there is no way anybody said that. Then I ask for a rough estimate of the shipping cost and they refuse because i didn't have the gun with me. Told the employee I would be in the following week to make a purchase depending if the gun was still available. I went in like I mentioned. Different employee. Still had the handgun I was interested in. It wasn't on display. A different one still in its case with others. Also on sale was another handgun that was above my price range for that moment. It wasn't there during my previous visit. I asked if they had layaway. Yes they did. Perfect. I'll put that on layaway too. Another person, I am believing to be the owner after reading other reviews and hearing his name, walked by and said NO to the layaway. His response was "it will sell this weekend". But I could put an AR on layaway. My immediate thought was poor customer service. And was about to walk out. The other employees treated me fine. I purchased the gun I went in to buy. Still perturbed at the owner's response. A 4 letter word starting with the letter D came to mind. I should have walked out looking back. So after the background check. I went in to pick up the handgun I purchased. Owner and other employees there. Got my handgun. Not 1 "thank you" or open the case to make sure everything was there. Just signed their paper and given the gun. Owner walking around mad that a delivery didn't come in. Employees having computer problems and talking across the room at each other about possible fixes. Chaotic mess that should be in the background and not up front with customers. Will never step foot in this place again. read more

I would not recommend ever going here! I ordered 3 suppressors in December and finally had to get a refund in April due to them never coming in. I called weekly to check on the status and was told any day now.... For almost 3 months. Tom, the owner, told me on many occasions he would call me back within X days, and never called back. I had to dispute the charge on my credit card to get the refund. Poor service from the owner and failure to get items they said they could get. Went to WGS and had them within 2 weeks. Worst experience I've had with a gun shop. I had them install a set of XS Big Dot sights on my XDS and they failed to follow any standard gun smithing practices and smashed up the side of the sight and released the Tritium. It took me over 6 weeks to get them to resolve the situation, which they eventually did by getting a warranty replacement on the sight from XS which I installed myself without issue(so Kudos to XS on their warranty I guess). At no point would the owner admit they did anything wrong and would not even provide a simple apology, just one excuse or lie after another. I also had to call them to get any updates. They never reached out when it was done initially or when the new sight came in. At the end of it all, over a month later I still got to pay them the full amount for not even installing the sights because I had my sick cat in my car and just picked it up and left without examining it closely enough because I was in a hurry. According to the owner if I'd noticed the damage in the store they could have done something but because I left and then drove right back within the hour it was all on me. It should also be noted that they've moved (again) to the nasty hole in the wall previously occupied by J&S Guns. read more

I've been a customer at I-5 previously and have even recommended them in a previous review. I retract that and would AVOID THIS PLACE. After thinking about this for a while I decided to post this. I called there to speak to one of their employees last week (March 24th) and was interrogated as to why I wanted to speak with him? I finally said, "FUCK it, never mind". The employee responded, "FUCK YOU BITCH", and hung up on me. Then they proceeded to call me back 17 times over the next 90 minutes. They called me 9 TIMES in 3 minutes. See attached photo showing my call log. I'm not a guy who argues over the phone. These guys are a mess as you've read in several reviews. They have one decent employee that has kept the place afloat, they know who he is. It certainly isn't the owner who should be red flagged. Remember, it all starts with the owner/management. I'm going to unblock their number after I post this. I know the owner and employees will probably call back as they have no impulse or emotional control evidently. If the new law passes, the only good result will be that I-5 GUNS FINALLY GOES AWAY. Maybe Tom and his wife can sell roadside trinkets or something they're qualified to do. I'll bet the owner responds to this review. He'll probably spew some nonsense about being a former police officer etc. It doesn't matter the local police are CLEARLY NOT fans. The phone log tells all, why would ANY company call you 9 times in a row for ANY REASON. I was at another local gun store the next day using their silencer kiosk. I encountered a Lacey PD and Olympia PD officer inquiring about their suppressor orders while there. I showed my phone log to both of them and explained what had transpired. They both encouraged me to file an official harassment complaint with the county. BOTH officers also stood there and shared their own stories of dealing with Tom specifically and berated him in front of a PACKED room full of people waiting in line. It's also painfully obvious these guys are writing their own GOOD reviews or having someone write them on their behalf. Look at the two fake reviews right below mine. TLDR: STAY AWAY. Literally the worst buying experience I have ever encountered. Employees are ok, Tom (the owner) is a used car salesman/lawyer/say anything to get you off the phone kind of guy. As a disclaimer, I normally do not leave reviews. I've also waited a long time to write this, mostly so I can form coherent sentences without word vomiting the rage I have at this place. I purchased an SBR and Can in July of 2018. I paid over $3000 in cash. These were moderately hard to find items. The time it took to get the SBR to their store is not a negative. Once the SBR made it to their store, Chester (the store's "NFA" guy) said to bring the checks, passport photos, and finger print cards for both the SBR and Can. That way when the Can arrived, he would have everything and save me a trip. The time it took to get the Can to their store was horrible. In the multiple discussions, it was SilencerCo's BOGO sale that messed up the can delivery, then it was his distributor, then it was a mix up and my Can went to another customer, Chester was fired. I'm sure there were more excuses, but I can't remember them all. After months of waiting, the Can arrives. I'm asked to bring down the check, passport photos, and finger print cards to start the process. I explain that Chester had that already. After a lot of back and forth, the paperwork got "shredded" during their move. Take a trip and go submit the paperwork for the can. While I'm there, I ask the status on the SBR. I was told if I hadn't gotten a call, the stamp had not arrived. Fast forward 9 months, I start calling once a month. It's now over 18 months and no tax stamp for either item. At around the 2 year mark, I get an employee on the phone and ask about the status, he immediately replies with "if you haven't gotten a call, the stamp has not arrived." I tell him to look anyway since it has been two years. He "finds" the SBR tax stamp and it was approved 11 months prior. He also states they "couldn't find my phone number". Common sense would be to write the name and phone number on the box, or send a letter to the address after a few months... It had been sitting there so long there was dust on the box. Let that sink in. They HAD THE STAMP for a year. You might not like me calling once every 30 days, and you might find it annoying. Though I also paid you $3000. Customer service is non-existent here. Now I'm back to the calling once a month for the Can. I make a trip to a trailer store a few blocks away to pick up my new box trailer, and think it wouldn't hurt to call. I get the same "if you haven't gotten a call, the stamp has not arrived." This is around the 3 year mark. I tell the employee this information and he begrudgingly looks. SUPRISE! The stamp is there and ready to pick up the Can. When picking it up, I looked at the approval date and add a month for snail mail. The stamp for the Can would have been there for weeks when I was IN THE STORE picking up the SBR. During this time, Tom (the owner) asks if I can be helped after eavesdropping on the conversation. I say no, his employee is helping me. Remember, I've been talking to him personally once a month like clockwork. He didn't remember me, my name, or my voice. He simply does not care about his customers. Let me say this again, I was physically in the store and asked about the Can in person and they said it wasn't there. Overall the platitudes and apologies are empty, their organization of paperwork is non-existent, and the "holier-than-though" attitude is just shy of the crusades. STAY AWAY. read more

Ever since they moved, it just hasn't been the same. There is not a lot of inventory in the store, it just feels empty inside. I don't recognize the employees anymore, I don't know what happened to all the familiar faces. Used to stop by and give my business just because, but the quality of service has definitely gone down. It used to be an experience buying from them but not so much any longer. The other day I went in there with the mindset that if there is anything remotely interesting in there, that I would buy it, not matter the cost. And quite literally they had some compasses, plastic handguards, cleaning supplies, they do have a decent selection of steel targets, but literally nothing else remotely interesting. They need to revamp their inventory and especially get new employees. One of the "new guys" was handling a customers bolt action rifle and could not get the bolt back into the gun. I offered the solution, simply pull the trigger and the hammer will fall allowing the bolt to slide in, but without looking up he dismissed me with a simple "No that's not it". Tom walks out, takes the rifle, pulls the trigger and drops the bolt in. Hmmm...... One particular horror story is a friend of mine ordered a suppressor from them and visited and called the store at least 3 times a week to check in if his suppressor arrived once the 6 month mark passed. They even took a picture of a bunch of Form 4's they had received and posted it on their FB page and my friend called again and asked if they had his paperwork, same response, no. Then he gets a called in January saying that they have had his suppressor the entire time!!! No doubt they took a picture of his Form and just neglected to go through and check. My friend only had a day or two to enjoy his suppressor before he left for a deployment. To sum it all up, it just hasn't been the same since the move and since the robbery. They need to seriously revamp the inventory and the employees, who just seem unenthusiastic. When Kyle and the girl with the dog and Phoebe were there they were all so helpful and just pleasant to be around. Now its just so bland and uninteresting inside. It is sad to see so many gun shops like this fade away simply because they fail to keep up with what shooters want and keep that "old guy" gun shop mentality. Went in for a simple FFL transfer and they didn't bother to verify my i.d. when doing so. They told me I was unable to possess a firearm and that I had to take it up with the FBI. Even after I told them that they made a mistake and to please verify the information they had they told me that I had to take it up with the FBI and there was nothing they could do. About an hour later they called me telling me that they pulled up a different person by mistake (obviously) and to come in to pick up my firearm. When I came back in one of the employees thought the situation was pretty funny and kept cracking jokes. I will not be back and would recommend you take your business anywhere else in town. I recently purchased a suppressor online at esilencers.com and had it shipped to I5 guns. When the suppressor arrived I went in and asked how to proceed. I was told by the person who handles all of the NFA items that I needed to go get a passport type photo taken and head down to the county court house and get 2 copies of my finger prints,and then create a ATF profile on the DOJ website. After getting these things done I contacted the same person at I5 guns and was told to mail my fingerprints photos to the ATF. I did this and I followed it up with an email to the ATF to make sure that they would up load the photo and prints to my ATF profile like the employee told me they would. About a week later I received an email from the ATF explaining that my fingerprints and photos would NOT be returned to me,and that the photos are uploaded digitally via Jpeg and that the fingerprints should have been mailed in with my form 4 application. I called the store several times to talk to the same person I had been dealing with and was not getting any calls back. I finally talked to Tom the owner and he was less than professional when I was trying to explain what happened. I chose to have the suppressor moved to a differant FFL that had a digital kiosk for this type of purchase. I have always enjoyed I5 guns but it just does not seem like the same store it used to be. I had a extremely poor experience at this place! I went in yesterday to purchase a gun for protection, my extremely abusive ex just got out of prison and is harassing me saying he's gonna come kill me, so I need to be able to protect myself !! So went in THOUGHT I had a successful visit, paid for a gun bullets and two safes as the employee tried to up sell me the whole time. Filled out paperwork, and another employee told me that I needed to verify my address since I've had the same ID since I was 18 I no longer live at that address. He kinda made me feel like I did somthing wrong since I didn't have my title in my car SINCE ITS IN THE MAIL SINCE I JUST GOT A NEW CAR! Which is all fine I planned on returning today with my "government" proof of address to clear the background check to get what I purchased. Or so I thought. I returned today with several items from the government verifying my address and before I could even get all the items from my purse a man I'm now assuming was the manager told me that I can actually no longer get the gun. He stated that I brought weed "blunts" in, when I told him that wouldn't even make sense because I don't even smoke weed, he then stated that there were police officers that were in the store as I was and he knew I brought weed in and was "buying a gun for that guy" ?!! First of all how does anyone know what IM DOING, OR MY INTENTIONS specially someone who I've never talked to and employees who didn't ask me shit other then what do I want and can I verify my address ?! So as any other American who is trying to protect them selves, I felt completely attacked and vulnerable in this situation so I start to have a anxiety attack since the 430+ dollars is now in limbo, I go to my car and come back in as I'm trying to stay calm when the same dude comes out and is now telling me instead of refund I'm gonna have to do a "charge back" and that I'm being trespassed and he's taking pictures of my "Oregon" plates ?! I'm still so upset and confused and the only thing that makes even a little sense is how my bf is black ... I thought we have moved passed this bullshit. WA Crooks more like it! They also tried to promote Emily of Lock and Load Em who never paid her fees to the range and used Toms store as a way to make customer buy his guns. Facts: This shop has the lowest prices in the local area compared to the other dealers , big or small. They have a big crew for the size of the shop. You can get approved in less than 30 minutes for a bolt action rifle and leave while at Cabelas you are still in their hour long wait for employees who think you serve them. You can also go to Bass in Tacoma wait a long time just to touch anything . Cabelas treats a firearm sale like signing some kind of bank mortgate , they take too long and have stupid redundant check after check by employee after employee . Terrible customer service. I was in the store for at least ten minutes before anyone asked me "if I needed something." I was giving all the clues that I needed help (staring at all the employees, lingering around the counter, etc). There were FIVE people working and only one other customer when I first walked in. The service was slow, which wasn't helped by the employees constantly discussing their personal lives.
