Then I had a new shower room installed by some builder friends who were doing other work. Later that year, my pipes burst in the freeze and water thundered from the top floor bathroom right down through the house. I called James Ross for emergency help, the only plumber I knew. He put his wife on the phone and told me that he wasn't going to lift a finger because he had wanted to install the shower room and I had used someone else. (I should say, I had never promised him the job or even mentioned it to him - but this is a small village). I mentioned this incident to other local people and they were not surprised.

I hired Graeme to refit my shower room. He started work, as promised, on 27th July. The work was…read moredue to be finished on 31st July but as of today (18th August) I still have no toilet, sink or working shower. The work that HAS been attempted is to a terrible standard and will have to be ripped out and redone. Graeme agreed that it was of a poor standard but seemed unsure of how to fix it. He has not replied to any messages or emails so I can only assume he has taken the money and run.
