I started private lessons with Iari in January of this year after attending a group online class with him. I liked his focus and understanding of the male voice and crossing over the break. Iari is an OUTSTANDING vocal coach! I have been singing on and off for years. And while I've always been able to carry a tune, if a song reached a certain point in my register, my voice would crack, and I would flip into a weak falsetto. I figured that singing is the type of talent that you either have or don't have, but I was so happy to have Iari prove me wrong. Iari is phenomenal. I came in as a touring and regularly performing musician with an Indie Rock band. My voice had grown tired from constant performance, and I looked for improved vocal stamina, more personality in my voice, and an improved transition to head voice from chest voice. I just came back from my 1st session with Iari. I'm probably biased because I never had a vocal coach before (except Google). Nevertheless, I'm very impressed. He's definitely got an ear built for music. I noticed this when I performed a song that he was going to critique me on, and instantly he could get on the piano and play in tune (and of course sing in tune) with the song. After that he would listen to me to make sure I'm correctly using the technique he just taught me. I wouldn't be able to tell if I'm doing anything right, but of course, he could. Iari is an excellent vocal teacher. He is able to quickly identify and diagnose a singer's problems with singing, and he makes extremely helpful, constructive, and easy to grasp recommendations to fix those problems. Within two lessons, I had expanded my range immensely thanks to Iari's instruction and techniques, and I was able to hit notes and sing songs that I was not able to before. Iari is great at developing exercises to stretch the limits of a singer's voice and help the singer improve. He is also very patient when teaching, but is still quick to correct you when you make a mistake and show you how to do something properly. Iari is a great vocal instructor! My son loves him. He was referred to us by a friend, whose daughter is also his student. The reason I asked my friend was because I was very impressed when I heard her daughter sang at one recital. Then we started our first 5-class session. I am not a singer, but wanted help with adjusting vocal tone for speaking at work. I have never been to a vocal coach before, but Iari gave clear goals to meet. Iari has worked with speakers before for adjusting the warmth and resonance of the voice. With just one 30 min. lesson, I learned several techniques for adjusting vocal tone. After one lesson, I was speaking completely normal, but at a different tone. I thought it was great Iari recorded the session and sent via email in case I needed to refresh.
