Krumm Exteriors removed our old cedar deck and replaced it with a completely new deck with a new…read morelook! It's much brighter than the dingy old planks, which were replaced with a composite Trex flooring that matches the shakes on our house. Railings and posts are white, and the crew even added a doggie gate so our dogs can spend time on the deck but cannot go down to back yard. The workmanship was excellent; the crew took pains to do everything correctly. The crew - Ben, Colin and Steve - was fantastic! Extremely good at their jobs and the three of them enjoyed working as a team. They were very nice, we missed having them around when the job was finished! We highly recommend this company and will for sure use them again. Anne Martin, Woodbury MN

So there was allot of back and forth as to what was promised and what we actually ended up getting. A 3 week job took 6-8 months at one point had a trailer in my front yard for a couple months during holidays thanksgiving and Christmas all the siding off the house. Family came up looked horrible to have family arriving and no siding and a Krumm enclosed trailer in the front yard. There's allot more I asked that my windows and aluminum siding be left at my residence was told no problem. It was all hauled off. Told them I wanted no holes in my roof. They installed a satellite dish that was not hooked up back in the roof. I asked to have the shudders put back in the home. The guys argued everytime I mentioned it. You don't want that. You'll get wasps. Ya I do t want that. My wife does! The mate are cheap mernards crap windows and metal. Windows ordered were wrong size. Corners of the edges of home have gaps in the top. They didn't want to do the facia when they did they threw it up looks like crap. I can keep going. I in no way would recommend this company. I'd say stay away at all costs. When the facia they put up came loose. Took about 3 weeks to a month to have that nailed back up. Bent nail under a shingle the same thing. I highly recommend using any other company.

Between me and my husband we were scrambling to find someone to come out and fix the issue. Mike was already busy but fit us into his schedule next day so we could have things up and running. Come to find out the connection issue was our roof starting to rot and the tubing had fallen due to builders of the house cutting corners(In my opinion). I'll tell you what, Mike still did the best patch work you could ask for on the fly. He was upfront about everything going on before doing anything. The issue is and was for roofers to come out and fix in the long run. But he got our dryer functional again and made us aware of the bigger issue. All the while I was jugging my one year old around. Everything about the job ended up being a fly by the seat of your pants kind of thing. Even accessing our attic. The price was more than fair, he documented everything, didn't replace anything that didnt need replacing, he came out next day for us, he was honest in his work and gave a good sturdy handshake. Mike will be the first call I make the next time my house needs help.

While Ron Derrick and company were very good to work with building my own home in the late 90's,…read moretheir current senior project manager was extremely difficult to work with on a client's project. He is a very poor team player, not returning phone calls or emails, and when he finally got back, was condescending, even rude. After enjoying working with hundreds of contractors, guiding construction on sometimes huge projects over 35 years, I've not experienced such a difficult person. He also had the front yard back-filled completely with sand, no topsoil at all in the beautifully designed front shade garden beds and small lawn clearly shown on the landscape plan. That's idiotic. It's too bad when good home construction company has such a poor employee.

From shoddy workmanship across…read moremultiple trades to sending suspected drug users (their words) to our home to do repairs after we've moved in; our list of complaints is endless. Our custom build with Derrick was horrendous. Not only were there too many problems during the construction process to list here but they are unfamiliar with setback requirements, which is critical for a builder to know. We have a side door and ledger board that is useless because it is too close to the lot line for us to put our deck. Derrick should have known about this and they should stand by their product. Now they are not getting back to us about how to remedy this problem. Unethical and unprofessional. Don't believe that they want their customers to be satisfied - - they won't even return our emails to get this corrected. Find a different custom builder!
