This is a nice little shop with fudge, candy, and ice cream. The latter is what brought us in (it's summertime), and they've got some slightly surly teens that are not excited at all to give you surprisingly large tastes their selection. You'll find your standard favorites, and a couple I've never heard of as well. I have to ask though...in what world is a "small" two scoops? This is the smallest size you have available? It's impossible to only scoop once in this shop? You're going to FORCE me to get both cookies and cream AND moose tracks? Obviously in a cone, because I'm not some sort of animal that eats ice cream with a spoon. Is this some sort of evil conspiracy to make me fat? Just so you know, if you did offer single scoops for slightly less money, then my wife and I would've gotten a cone each (more money for you) because I don't want to share anything with her ever. The nicest place on the island! The girls working here are amazing, very friendly and helpful. I'm not a huge fan of ice cream so I was mostly focused on the fudge options. I tried a few options of the fudge and decided to go with the walnut fudge since it was the most delicious option. My friend got the birthday cake ice cream and said it was really good. They have a pretty big selection of ice cream flavors to choose from. Like many places on the island this place is cash only, the prices were pretty reasonable considering the quality. Overall this was a super cute spot with some amazing customer service, will definitely come back on my next visit! read more

After finishing a day at the beach, my group wanted something that would be refreshing. We headed into Ice Castle because it seemed like the perfect sweet treat. When you first walk in, be prepared to be amazed at all the sweet treats around. The other thing worth mentioning is the smell. It smells like fresh waffles and chocolate. I can't even think of a better smell. They have fudge, cookies, worms- and everything in between. What I really wanted was some ice cream. I tried a few samples before deciding on the one I wanted. I got a chocolate ice cream with peanut butter chips in it. It was delicious. The staff member gave me the largest scoop and I got a large waffle cone for the extra crunch. An important note is that this place is a cash only establishment. OH! And before I forget, I got really sad as I was leaving because apparently you can get an actual waffle covered in ice cream and goodies! It's a little expensive, but I haven't seen anything else like it. Definitely look out for that if you are planning to come here. read more

The layout of this store is just not set up right. You walk in to the front of the line and the cash register, but this is actually where you end up after you pay, so you have a lot of people running into each other or trying to figure out where the end of the line is. Hint, it's at the back of the store! They had posted ads about the cookie dough. We couldn't find it on the menu. We asked about it and they have it, it's just not on the menu. I ordered a bubble waffle cone with birthday cake ice cream and gummy bears (they are mini) and cookie dough and chocolate and caramel syrup. The waffle was sweet which was great. It felt like there wasn't much ice cream in there. More waffle than anything. But with all the toppings (they were generous) it was enough food for me. I would order one again!! read more

My son and 7 of his friends went to this candy store over Memorial Day weekend. I gave my son cash for him and his friends to buy candy as it was his birthday celebration. When my son went to reach into his pocket to pull out the cash for the group, one of the owner's (woman) started screaming at him, accusing him of stealing. The other owner (man) then walked over to the group, grabbed candy out of one of the other boy's hands, and PUSHED that boy towards the door. My son then pulled the cash out fully from his pocket and showed them what he was trying to do. The owners did not apologize. They took payment ,and the boys left and informed me what happened. My son has been buying candy at that store for over 10 years. We will never go back, and we have told our friends on the island as well, who will never go back. It is never ok to push anyone, let alone a kid. read more

I don't know why there are any other sweet shops in town, when this one is clearly superior. Not only is it stocked with lots of fun and yummy candies, it also has delicious, melt in your mouth fudge in flavors like maple walnut, peanut butter/chocolate, vanilla chocolate swirl, and "snowbank." The ice cream is also delicious. Other ice cream shops in town serve Hershey's and Edy's, but this one serves local, micro-batch ice cream that is absolutely delicious. Ice Castle is a cute little candy and ice cream store. They have a good selection of different ice cream and sorbet flavors, plus Italian Ice and their own special frozen treats like frozen chocolate covered cake and pie slices. The prices for ice cream are kinda pricey, but the same as the other ice cream shops in Ocean Beach so you can't complain too much. The candy section is worth even just a browse through the fun assortment of different brands, both current and nostalgic, plus they also have a fudge counter with a ton of fudge ready to be sliced and weighed, and also a specialty candy counter with truffles, chocolate covered pretzels, etc. If you need a sugar fix, look no further! read more

The staff is very friendly and helpful when you can't find something or have a question about what flavor a gummy is. Great store for getting some ice cream and sweets located right across from the ferry dock. The owner and staff were so friendly and helpful while I browsed around trying to decide what to buy. The store is very clean, colorful and has a really nice selection of candy. They also sell many flavors of ice cream, Italian ices, fudge and specialty chocolates. You have to try the homemade fudge- so yummy! It's so good that I made sure to stop in before I took the ferry back so I could bring some fudge home to my friends. I recommend the Cookies & Cream, Peanut Butter Explosion and Rocky Road flavors! I also bought white chocolate covered gummy bears that I have never seen before and they were also delish. They even make their own Chocolate covered Crickets! If you're brave enough to eat one, you can become part of the Fire Island Cricket Club and walk around the island with a cool bracelet! As a person with a severe peanut and treenut allergy, I can safely say I found many options for me to have in this store. Love this place! Ice Castle reminds me of an old fashioned ice cream and candy store where the service is friendly and the treats are delicious! Lots of nostalgic candy that I has loved as a kid and still do! They serve a variety of ice cream, italian ices, and delicious homemade fudge. My favorite was the s'mores! Lots and lots of candy in all shapes and sizes and a beautiful assortment of chocolates and chocolate covered pretzels. A trip to Ocean Beach is not complete without a trip to Ice Castle!! read more
