My husband and I really wanted something special to add to the decor of our wedding and a friend had recommended perhaps an ice sculpture and directed to us to Ice Illusions. Initially, we weren't sure about having an ice sculpture since our wedding event took place in Livermore, CA during the most hottest season of the year. But, after speaking with the owner whom is the talented sculptor and seeing all of his work, we knew we had to have a piece of his work at our event. On the day of our wedding, we were blown away by how truly amazing our sculpture turned out. It was an exact replica of the design of our invitation that had flowers and special designs. We were impressed by how much attention was put into the fine details to making such a massive piece of artwork. And we were amazed that the piece held up for the entire event in the 102 degree heat. I can't even begin to tell you how breathtaking David's work is. I am a wedding and event planner, and so I have high expectations for my vendors. David is a master at his trade and the creativity he brings to the table is impressive! But beyond the crafting of his masterpiece, the professionalism that I have seen from David and his team is top notch. Every event that he has been booked, my clients have all been happy. He follows up, he is on time, and break down is always smooth. For my own 30th birthday, I booked David to do a piece to go with my James Bond theme. I was so stressed out worrying about the other details that I had to rely on David to come up with something different. My jaw dropped when he came in with a massive Walther PK handgun ice luge. It was the signature handgun that James Bond used. David could have done something else; he could have made something simple but he did the research and really gave it the zinger to my event. Dave helped me save my new job! I know it sounds crazy, but I'm dead serious. I was in charge of an event at my new job and I was told "everything was taken care of, the luge has been ordered." Ffwd to the day of the second largest event of the year for my company - and nobody ordered the luge! We are known for having a luge at our booth. It attracts a large number of visitors to the event. Without it, we are dead in the water. After I suffered a series of mini heart attacks and breakdowns, the event organizer, caterer, my alcohol vendor, and I were on the phones trying to track down a luge. Everybody came up empty-handed. "Dude, everyone is saying they need one week notice." I kept going and I found Dave. Dave was eating lunch when I called him. I told him my entire story about what happened and how we really needed a luge at our event. At this time, the event was beginning in an hour. Dave said he had a luge on hand (I can't guarantee if you find yourself in a similar situation that he will have one on hand, but you definitely need to give him a call)! He stopped eating his lunch, went to his warehouse and personally delivered the luge to my event in UNDER AN HOUR! That says a lot about this guy and his business. That is dedication and a strong work ethic right there. Another amazing part? The price! Exceptionally reasonable. I was impressed. And so was my boss when I submitted the expense report! The next day at work I had to explain what happened. I got an awful lot of credit for making a luge appear in under an hour. This was a few weeks ago and people are still talking about it. To them, I was a hero but I can't take all of the credit. Dave is the real hero for making this happen. In addition to his fast delivery skills, the luge itself was awesome! The artwork was very nice, precise, and loved by all who came in contact with it at the event & afterwards via photos taken. It was tall, never tipped over, and it lasted the entire length of our outdoor event which was 5 hours (it could've lasted 3 more hours, easily). The first three hours of its life was in direct sunlight. We received so many compliments on it. I spread the word about Ice Illusions that day and now my mission is to spread the word on Yelp! Can't say enough about David and his Ice Illusions! We were working on a tight timeline and he totally came through for us in every way. The design he came up with was perfect and totally went with the theme and vibe our party was going for. i can not say enough about the professionalism and the talent that ice illusions delivers. i have used them for two occasions. first time i used david and his team was for a 150 person birthday party for my husband's 40th. i needed a big bang at the bar and ice illusions created that effect. after many emails of exchanging photos back and forth, ice illusions created this insane pagoda vodka luge and lit it in red. it lasted throughout the night...it was the least stressful thing i had to deal with that night. a couple months later, david created this intricate slot machine vodka luge for a childrens' school fundraiser in tiburon. the theme was viva las vegas and the slot machine was center stage in the high rollers lounge. it was very hot that day in may and yet the luge survived till the end. as usual, david delivered on time and exceeded my expectations. i will continue to use ice illusions because they have deviated from the traditional ice sculpture you see at weddings and bat mitzvahs. they are out of the box artist...and most importantly they are reliable. read more

While I was planning my office Christmas party I was thinking I wanted to do something unique and special. The I remembered meeting David Fong from Ice Illusions at a 49er game a few years back. So I looked him up on Yelp and realized it was 6 years ago!!! Time flies. So gave him a call and spoke to him about doing something fun for my office. I let him know we had the banquet hall of a local hotel reserved for dinner and cocktails. He asked me my budget and I let him know. He came up with the idea of doing a ice bar with a shot luge and our company logo carved into the front of it. I thought it sounded pretty cool and he let me know that it has always been a hit at similar events. I had him coordinate with the hotel host and there was nothing more I needed to do. Day of the event he was at the hotel early to set up and waited till I arrived to make sure I was happy. I couldn't have been more pleased with the his work and the office had a blast while getting a little (a lot) tipsy. LOL. I regret not snapping a picture right away but I know others from my office did. I'll be sure to upload them soon. Ice Illusions is the only company I use for my parties. David is always punctual, friendly, and his ice luges are always a hit.

UPDATE.....Long story short, David does not return phone calls or emails therefore I will be taking him to small claims court. In my latest email to David I mentioned that I noticed a pattern in his yelp reviews...businesses & event planners/coordinators are his prime customers. Reason being is they are repeat business. If you are a one time customer, you are pretty much screwed. He overbooked himself the day of our event and therefore he was approximately 1 1/2 hour late from the schedule setup time. Guests arrived to an empty table in the foyer where the sculpture should have been. We booked David in February for a September wedding so this was not a last minute thing. We stayed in contact throughout and three days before the wedding I spoke to him on the phone to confirm his setup time of 4:00pm the day of the wedding 9/10/11. He stated he will be there as promised. He failed to deliver and we were very disappointed. read more
