Ice illusions..first off the owner/artist is a cutie, all smiles and nice jokes, in person of course, bc I think he got a feel for my (now) husband's personality. Over the phone he was super professional, prompt and attentive. A lot of things happened during the wedding reception but a few things I took note of; he went out of his way last minute to redesign the sculpture bc unfortunately the freezer locker couldn't fit what we worked out. He did it w/o compromising the size and design and w/o involving me or the groom, thank goodness, since we already had a million other things to think off. Also, I noticed that the LED lighting for the base changed during the night; honestly I'm not sure it was intentional but I thought it was great, like customized mood lighting! David is truly an artist. Just look at the Optimus Prime sculpture. My first-hand experience with his work is as follows: My friend was having a house-warming party, backyard barbecue of course, and there stood this rectangular block of ice roughly 2 feet x 3 feet. It was beautifully etched with lines along the sides. There was a nicely formed lip at the top of the block and a pour hole on the other side of the top. I then understood why David had a bottle of Grey Goose with him for a Sunday early-afternoon barbecue. Then the fun began. Note the luge is very functional. For future corporate events I may be involved in planning, having one of David's masterpieces is a must have. read more

David created an ice luge for our wedding several weeks ago, and as others have pointed out, he is undeniably talented. I had some reservations about the final product after he revised a sketch I had sent him, but as it turns out his edits were completely necessary from an ice-melts-rapidly-and-the-structure-needs-to-be-sound-for-several-hours perspective. I guess that is why I'm not an ice sculptor and David is more facile with ice than Edward Scissorhands. David was totally on board with my design (a logo of the World Cup, where I had gotten engaged), and I definitely appreciated his enthusiasm. It seemed like a tricky design but he dominated and no doubt used the leftover ice for a homemade frappuccino. Because he's that good. As a dude completely in over his head with wedding planning, though, I will say that David wasn't quite as organized through email as he seemed to be receptive over the phone. After not hearing from David for a week after submitting my initial inquiry, I finally just called him and he picked up immediately. Over the phone he told me to resend my email, which I did, but again did not hear from him for another week, after which time: lesson learned, I called him (maybe he was swamped...I won't make any guesses). David is personable and receptive on the phone, so that should be the medium of choice. Well this was a huge dissapointment on my wedding day. I had ordered an ice lugee from David the sculpter that I was very excited about. Unfortunately I did not recieve an ice lugee but just a sculpture. I don't really need a block of ice that has no function, so imagine my surprise when my wedding day rolls around and everyone comes up to me asking where the ice lugee is that I said would be there. Totally embarassing. To top it off I had very little communication with David and requested sketches of the product multiple times which he never furnished. A total waste of 650 dollars! Just had a wedding this past weekend and my then fiance wanted something to stand out for our welcome table. How cool would it be to have an ice sculpture. We got recommended to David by a mutual friend. We got in touch he was able to help us decide on a piece. He was sooooo patient without from the start .
