No one else was waiting though and so she could have served me .... Went to next queue and unloaded the shopping - decided to go for home delivery as its local and would save me loading the car - already loaded up with shopping anyway. The trolley has a long metal flagpole sticking out of it so it cant leave the shop so presume u have to carry bags to car park which is around 200metres away! Earliest home delivery time was tomorrow at 11am - 1pm good job Im not in a hurry. The cashier then tells me that Im in the wrong queue for home delivery but she wil do it anyway - umm hang on there are only three checkouts open and Ive already been turned away from one. She was helpful and loaded the shopping into bags for me BUT PUT FRESH RAW MEAT AND COOKED MEATS IN THE SAME BAG AND SEEMED SURPRISED THAT I DID NOT WANT THIS but she changed it for me so all ok. I informed her that one of the biggest cause of food poisoning is raw meat contaminating salads and cooked items I know its in sealed packs but I have known them to leak sometimes - perhaps Im just fussy. I see this as failiure by management to provide adequate training in basic food hygene for employees All in all then nice and cheap, good variety, good bargains, complicated checkout processs, trolley doesnt leave the shop and pack your own just to be on the safe side. Just had to add this on as at 3pm no sign of the delivery - rang store and they say it was down for between 3pm and 5pm It turned up at 5.15pm Make up your own mind re their home delivery service but Im going to Staple Hill next time !

It has free parking for about a dozen cars, but that is sufficient as many of their customers are pedestrians. The village post office is also located inside the store.

It's quite expensive to buy booze here, it doesn't have the special offers on wine that you get in other supermarkets. But then, this co-op feels more like a 7-11 / Spar convenience store than a supermarket. There's a shop I pass when going to evening class that I covet as my local convenience store, it has an old fashioned awning out front. All you have decorating the front of this store is the local youth and a dumpster. Handy for your bits and bobs, ample parking, the staff here are really friendly and smiley and convenient. Its just a shame it doesn't have more character.
