Barr was not the cheapest but not the even close to the most expensive pool builder. So why did we pick Barr Pool? When we met with Mark (Owner) compared to the other companies you feel like you are being treated by someone who cares about the service and large investment you are about to make. He is the owner and it is a local family business. Mark fielded our numerous questions during the quote process and during the design/layout phase, he was extremely knowledgably and he did not try to pressure us to upgrade if not needed (2 of the 4 other companies tried to have us purchase unneeded products). The Barr Team was responsive, timely, and professional during the entire process. This is a long process but worth it. You have the waiting list phase (ours was 10 long months), the staging phase (bring equipment over to our house about 1 month), and construction phase (8 Weeks). Mark told us up front that they will show up and complete the work needed and then bounce but they stuck to the agreed timeline. There are 3 different teams I worked with during the construction. Mark (Main POC and general contractor), Walter and Manuel they did majority of the detailed work. The framing, electrical, gas, hooking up all the equipment, anything major going into the pool these two accomplished and did above the bar outstanding work. The concrete/excavation crew was done by Simon's concrete and when they showed up big things happened. We went from grass in our yard to a dirt hole the size of our pool with the initial framing in 8 hours, 20 yards of concrete in a 8 hours, a team of 6 people that worked some hard labor and exceeded at it. The only negative was they left my yard a mess with the excess concrete dumped in the corner. I addressed this with mark and it was taken care of immediately. As of today we are one week into the pool being finished, 3 pool parties completed, and we are completely happy with the outcome of the pool and with the selection of Barr Pools. I have referred 3 people to them and would highly recommend them if you are considering building a pool. I will do an end of season update of this review in October. He patched and painted drywall, replaced entire sheets of drywall, replaced a tub/shower combo, installed a new vanity, laid some tile, installed flooring, etc. I cannot stress enough his close attention to detail! Even with that, his prices were great and he was very speedy! We even hired him on a different project to remove our stone fireplace and replace it with drywall, and that had just as great of results. Overall, Travis does great work and has a very positive attitude, which goes a long way in this business! We will hire him for any project needs from here on out.

It was so warped that I could not make it work myself and I don't have all the saws and tools it required to attempt to fix it myself. Matt and Tahnee were quick to respond and I went with them even though they only had one review, and I'm glad I did. They kept me informed about the process and provided a video walk through when the work was done. I feel the price charged was fair, and it saved me from trying to figure out what to do myself. From the moment of contact, Matt was professional and reliable. I'm an out-of-state owner of a…read morerental house and cannot be onsite so it's easy for contractors to cut corners but still charge top dollar for their work. This was not the case with Full Nest Remodel and Repair. The estimates I had received for a very small, 40 sq foot bathroom floor repair/install were exorbitant. I kept looking and found Full Nest. Matt was courteous and communicative through the whole process of selecting the materials needed to the day of the install. He fulfilled my request of sending me videos of the project in progress, narrating the process so I knew what was going on every step of the way. Once the damaged flooring was removed, it was revealed that the joists needed to be reinforced before installing the new subfloor. Matt did not cut corners in order to finish the job in the usual 8 hour day by ignoring this fact and installing the new floor anyway without shoring up the joists. Instead, he worked well into the evening so that when he left the family of three had a functioning bathroom. (It's the only bathroom in the 800 sq. foot house.) He returned the next day to do the finishing work of replacing the baseboards. The best part about working with Matt was seeing his integrity in action. Even though the job took longer than anticipated, Matt never approached me saying I will need to pay more than the agreed amount in order for him to complete it. And, best of all, he went above and beyond by making sure the young family had a working bathroom for the night. Full Nest is now in my Rolodex for any future projects that come up and Matt will be my first call.

Using Paintsmith was a negative experience our family and neighborhood won't soon forget…read more When Matt negotiated the paint job on our home we specifically requested top-of-the-line premium paints to be used, and he "gave us his word" that he and his crew would, and we were quoted for the difference in price. But then after starting the job my wife watched his workers, at his direction, pour paint from one entirely different generic looking bucket into another, and bring it into the house to continue painting. And when I came home at lunch, and asked Matt about it, he got condescending and started making some excuse about my wife being confused or that his workers were confused, even though they were only following his orders. But Matt kept insisting it would be fine. As I was walking back out to my car to return to the office I noticed the two "other" buckets of paint at Matt's vehicle, so out of curiosity I went to home depot where he said he bought his paint, and sure enough the other paint was significantly cheaper than the paint he promised to use in his bid and according to employees was not even close in quality to the more premium one that was supposed to be used in the job. I'm no paint expert, but the rooms they painted with the second paint even smelled different that night from the first where they started the job. Typical bait-&-switch of an unprofessional businessman, and had my wife not stayed home that day and been paying attention we wouldn't have known. The following day before settling the bill with Matt I again questioned the paint switch, and told him I wasn't comfortable paying full price for a job he used lower grade paint. He immediately got indignant and threatened to place a lien against our home if we didn't pay the bill in full, raising his voice at me in front of my wife and children. Even the neighbors heard him. Somehow I was hoping I was wrong, but now a year later the hallway and rooms that were painted with the cheaper paint are showing definite signs of wear, and you can even scrape it off with your fingernail. Needless to say I won't be using his services again, and rest assured being as his unsavory rant and threats turned into the buzz of the neighborhood, neither will a lot of other people.
