She was insulting and racist, offering me money to go use the pay phone to call Scotia banks customer service because the branch couldn't help. Like why is there even a branch if they can't help. My only regret is not noting down her name and including it with this review. The banks should control their customer service or go out of business. I have no doubt that Scotia Bank will go out of business simply because of its poor customer service and poor ethics. Just by offering movie points won't keep you in business. I did close my account with Scotia Bank. And moved it to TD bank and am extremely happy with TD banks service.

Firstly, the "Security guard" was listening to music in her headphones and dancing in the window and not being attentive to her surroundings. That didn't make me feel more secure. Secondly, I was there to deposit a CERTIFIED cheque from another branch of TD Bank. After waiting for it to be approved by a manager, I was asked what the cheque was for! That's personal and of no relevance to the transaction...it is a CERTIFIED CHEQUE from TD Bank! Full stop, we cannot proceed further unless I provide an answer. Unbelievable!! Then I was told that there would be a 5 business day waiting period. Really?!?!! I asked why and was told that it needs to be cleared. Again, it is a CERTIFIED CHEQUE from within their own company! It had already been cleared. All this, yet they were happy to cash a stolen cheque drawn on my account without any questions or even verifying the signature on it, which clearly was not mine, and scolded ME for apparently letting someone access my chequebook (they broke into my house, then my locked desk drawer to get to the chequebook). THEY CASHED A FRAUDULENT CHEQUE DRAWN FROM MY ACCOUNT AND TRIED TO BLAME ME!!! I have had enough of this shocking BS with TD Bank and I am closing all of my accounts and moving my wealth to a better bank.

Back in the day I switched banks when they did something really stupid. but now it's difficult with RRSPs, investment accounts, and a business account which I can only change after my contract is finished. I have been working for this company for over 7 years and have always made deposits and Revenue Canada payments at this branch. Today, I was told that I could not make the payment as I am not on the account. I am not on the account as I am employed by the company on Contract as the bookkeeper. I will never be on the account. I was then told the only other alternative was to open a personal account at the TD. I questioned this as it did not seem to make any sense. The cheque was a business cheque signed by authorized signatories for the business and the cheque was made out to the Receiver General. Why would I have to open an account to pay a bill by a cheque from the company. After not getting any real answer as to why or than it was policy, I left and went to the branch in Newmarket. I had to get this paid as the HST was due and I was not about to open an account. Needless to say I had no problem paying the bill with the cheque I had. I then asked to speak to the manager of that branch to get an explanation for the ordeal that I went through at the other branch. The manager was quite helpful and pleasant and apologized for what I went through. She recommended that I continue to go to her branch with regards to the Business account and that there is no such policy by the TD to open an account to pay a business account bill by cheque. The drive into Newmarket is not far but traffic is pretty bad on Davis at Hwy 404 at the end of the day. My suggestion for the TD is to get all their branches on the same page. I feel that this policy the other branch told me was something that was made up because they obviously had no idea how to pay a bill with a signed business cheque. I can understand a teller not knowing how to pay the bill (newbee) but I sure would expect the person in charge of the place would have a pretty good grasp on how things work.

I get to the teller and request a deposit of a check that is a paycheck and been getting every 2 weeks for 2 years. My home branch manager made a note on my file that pay checks are to be deposited without a hold. The teller the proceeds to tell me that she has to put a hold on the check. when I asked why and I need an answer she said I need to speak to the manager but I have to wait because she's on the phone. Finally she comes and basically tells me to bad to sad go to another branch. when I refused and demanded a sweet I was threaded with police if I don't leave the premises. Since I was already late I went to my home branch outav my way and they did it in 1 min no issues at dufferin Ans major Mack enzie branch. Stay far away from this branch if you are a middle to lower class customer they don't want you there.

This one is a smaller branch that you may just miss if you are walking by…read more There were only two teller wickets open when I came in. I had a large cheque to toss into my account. The cheque from from another bank and I was prepared they'd put the whole amount on hold. I got to the teller almost immediately as there was only one person in front of me. She reviewed and cheque and listened to my plea. Unfortunately, my recent history didn't show any cheques of such caliber from that payer. "Let me see what I can do," said she and ran off to fetch the manager. The manager came in, reviewed my case, and asked me how much money I needed right away. I told him the amount I thought they'd have no problem releasing. He proceeded release twice as much money as I hoped to get and asked me how I would rate my experience today. Rate my experience? Wow, you just asked the right guy! I showed him my phone with the yelp open and the first line of this review entered. We had a good laugh and I left happy that my missions was accomplished and that I get a chance to yelp about these bank employees and how they care about their customers.
