The fact that the bank was closed the previous day could've added to how many people needed to see a teller. When we asked about why we were given only $5 bills when $20 bills were requested, we were told the machine must've run out of $20 bills. If that's the case, the machine should be able to register this and not have this option available.

The front desk staff and greeters are very friendly, courteous and professional - while waiting in line; I overheard their interactions with customers, both in person and over the phone. What impressed me the most was after my transaction, I asked the client service representative if I could speak to the branch manager. She did not hesitate or even ask why! A few minutes later, I met with Rose Figliuzzi. I explained that I have been with TD bank for many years, and I was very impressed with the staff. I like that you can use the drive-thru ATM without any around-the-building or strange curves that can potentially ruin the left side of your car. I don't recall ever having any issues at the ATM. It's always functional when I have needed to use it. The only downside is that once you are done with the drive-thru ATM, you have to head out on the road. If you want to shop at the other stores within the strip mall, you need to cycle back. With the bank located in a strip mall, there is plenty of parking. (15)

I had the most unfortunate experience at this CIBC branch. Specifically with a teller employee named Christy on Saturday Oct 5th at around 12 in the afternoon. I had taken my grandmother here for a simple withdraw and she was rudely spoken to by Christy. Christy was very unprofessional, condescending and unpleasant to be helped. Even as I stepped in to assist my grandmother, Christy was still very rude. It's not uncommon knowledge that elderly people may have difficulty hearing or understanding, but Christy still put up an impatient and rude service. Her Cantonese speaking "skill" was definitely put to use, but with a very condescending tone. Just because they are elderly, doesn't mean they can't pick up on attitude and rudeness. When confronted after, Christy was defensive and did not even offer a sincere apology. Neither did her manager who decided to stay back and oversea the transaction. Both Christy and her manager were very rude, condescending, unprofessional and extremely unpleasant. If CIBC would like to contact me further about this interaction, feel free to. It is difficult to see cars coming behind you as you merge. You also have cement sidewalks all over the place. It feels like you are participating in a driving obstacle course. Every time I go there in person to ask for help with a banking issue, I am told that I have to call instead. I don't understand the purpose of having a branch if customers cannot get proper assistance when they come in. I have had multiple problems with my banking services, and instead of helping me resolve them, the staff repeatedly send me somewhere else or tell me to call customer service. This has been extremely frustrating and has caused me unnecessary problems and wasted a lot of my time. I am also very disappointed with the branch manager, Jiji Chan. Based on my personal experience, I did not feel that my concerns were properly understood or handled, and I did not receive the level of professionalism and assistance I expected from a bank manager. Overall, my experience with this branch has been extremely poor. You can deposit and withdrawal funds to and from your Tangerine account at any Scotiabank ABM. This Scotiabank branch is the second-closest one from my home. I like the ample parking at this branch. The other night, one car decided to park across six parking spots. I wasn't amused and parked just in front of this car, got out, and walked into the branch. The guy apparently got the message and parked like a normal human being between the white lines. I have only used the ABMs at this location. They work fine. You have the option of either using the touchscreen or button options when you are prompted. The latter have Braille on the buttons. The branch is clean and inviting. Yesterday, I was at a plaza with a Shoppers Drug Mart. This plaza also has two banks: RBC and CIBC…read more I needed to do a transaction at CIBC. This branch was two doors down from Shoppers Drug Mart. It's a small branch. It's open Monday through Friday from 9:30 am to 5 pm. On Saturdays, it closes an hour early at 4 pm. On Sundays, it's closed. Those hours are decent if you need to speak to a person to do teller services or more complex financial transactions. What surprised me was reading a notice saying that ATMs are only accessible between 8 am to 9 pm. Normally, ATM branch access is 24 hours. The idea is that the lobby where the ATMs are located are available. Technically, it can be or used to be done at this branch, but I don't know enough about the rationale to limit ATM hours. Perhaps there was a recent ATM heist? If you do need to do ATM banking after 9 pm through 8 am, the branch at Victoria Park Avenue and Sheppard Avenue East is available. I used one of the two ATMs at this bank. CIBC and Simplii cards work here without any ATM transaction fees. I liked that I could tap my card and then specify my PIN. It's refreshing to not swipe my card and wear out the magnetic strip over time. My transaction was smooth. The touchscreen had the perfect sensitivity. I like the option to not have a paper printout. I try my best not to use it, to save a tree or two. There is plenty of parking in this plaza. It was great finding this CIBC while running an errand at the drugstore. (162)

Tip: The branch isn't open on weekends…read more I have passed by this CIBC countless times en route to Walmart, Great Clips, or Dollar Tree. I decided to check it out on a Saturday afternoon after I had got a haircut at Great Clips and then did some grocery shopping at Walmart. This CIBC has a drive-thru. I used it to check my balance. I don't do a whole lot of banking with CIBC these days, but I do have an account. It was straightforward entering it. Deposits are envelope-free at this ATM. You can withdraw CAD or USD, depending on your needs. It's similar to the CIBC ATMs that are at Pearson International Airport. It's nice that the bank has opened it up to more ATMs that aren't at the airport. This branch is closed on weekends. You can still go into the branch to use the ATMs if you won't want to do the drive-thru. Regular banking hours are from 9:30 am till 5 pm on weekdays. The branch has accessible parking, which allows a wheelchair to go up a shallow ramp to the main doors. There's a button that opens both doors for access into and out of the branch. There is plenty of parking around the building. I parked in the back aisle to take a look at the branch before I left. I'm glad that I took a closer look at this bank. It was nice to not drive away like I normally do. It's good to know that this CIBC exists. (218)
