This is a bigger Shoppers with a beauty boutique - the sales people are really friendly and will help you find what you are looking for. It's never too busy - although some reviewers stated that on Seniors Day it gets packed. That's no surprise given the area around the store is mostly senior residences. This store also has a small grocery section as well. So if you need a lipstick colour, want to get some new scented body lotion and some chips then you can come here. However, driving there takes less than 10 minutes. I filled my asthma inhaler prescription at 3am. Why 3am? Because silly me was too lazy to do it during the day and my flight was in a couple of hours. The pharmacist who was on duty and I had a great conversation about being from the Caribbean. Plus, it took 8 minutes for her to fill my 'scription. That never happens during regular business hours. You won't find much people on staff or that even want to help you. They are usually too bubbly for late night or are dead on their feet. It doesn't bother me though. After shopping here for so long, I'm pretty much a seasoned vet and don't need any help navigating the aisles. I can however spent an inordinate amount of time in here figuring out what I need, picking up things I don't need, and then rationalizing that I'm about to spend double than what I estimated. But since they don't close, I don't have to rush and I can take all the time I need--even until 5am...I'm not saying that's happened before but--it has.

Milk is cheaper, cheese goes on sale for $3 a block and they have an extra selection of tchotchkes without the Halloween costumes and excess of holiday cheer. Well that's serious money in my book (unfortunately.) I came into the store between 9-10a.m. on a Thursday. It wasn't too busy, to my relief. On the other hand, I wanted to be sure to get the right stuff, and wanted to check with the Pharmacy that it wasn't physically behind the counter before hunting the aisles. I took my place in line, and began to wait .. and wait. I have no problem letting her serve the current customer first, go ahead take the time necessary to do your job. After the customer walks away, however, she continues to really take her time. I stand, and wait...keep waiting...there are people adding up behind me. Finally I get so annoyed I need to start making conversation with the customer behind me. As we begin filling our own time void, the staff immediately decides to continue with someone else not in line. THEN I get to hear that it is indeed not kept behind the counter, but on the shelf. Once I hit the aisle, I do get a staff who is available and takes the time to answer my questions about the various formulations offered on the shelf. She had good knowledge of the different ingredients and their applications. I was finally able to purchase what I needed. I should have made more effort to remember her name as I would go look for her next I came back. Good service with an appropriate knowledge level.

Got to park far to get a parking sometimes cuz have to compete with the nearby restaurants and the supermarket. Lots of self-checkout. The New Horizon Centre located at on the northwest corner of Warden Ave and Steeles Ave E is a very business place with shoppers hustling and bustling about; seems everybody is in a hurry including me. There's a Canada Post outlet inside this Shoppers Drug Mart but that's not why I'm here. It didn't take long to spot the cold medication aisle displayed on the overhead signs (in English & Chinese). As far as this huge SDM store, aisles are wide and product selection is excellent. There is a lottery station, ATM to get cash, and all the departments found at SDM stores including grocery & frozen food product selections. I used one of three self-checkout stations to scan & pay for my single Vicks NyQuil purchase that $4 off the regular price. Quick & easy! Be sure to scan your PC Optimum points card too.
