I have to get my soda from a soda machine because the RPAC in the basement near the lockers only takes payments from students and facility who are members of the RPAC, but they have huge space for working out, taking fitness classes, and another pool that has 8 lanes (25 yards) that has a movable floor and waterslide area for families. It makes sense and it was no biggie, I just did not spend as much time as I would have if pets were welcome. I stopped into what I thought was a deli but more like a restaurant with a counter, hoping to purchase goodies for home. There are several stores for shopping, which were fun to browse. I only purchased some chocolates in a candy store, which apparently were made in house. I definitely want to visit here again with more research.

This is a lovely historic neighborhood just a couple miles south of downtown Columbus. I took COTA Bus #5 from downtown Columbus (Ohio Statehouse) and explored the area just north of the park. The brick houses and cobblestone alleyways provide a glimpse of life in the 1880s and early 1900s when this area became a central hub for the German-American community. I don't think there are too many kid-friendly activities or museums nearby - but it makes a pleasant excursion if you're stuck at the Convention Center for a conference in downtown Columbus. Street parking looked a bit challenging. If Bus #5 is running slow on your return trip from the German Village back to the downtown area (it can be up to a 30 minute wait if you just missed the last bus), consider taking an Uber/Lyft taxi instead.

Renewal fee is $1.00 as well. Leisure card is good through the Columbus Rec & Parks Locations. Some classes and activities may have a fee but a lot at no cost too.

The bathrooms are digusting and I believe there is urine on the floors.I also wanted to add that in the locker room there are naked people walking around, once a worker took a woman's towel and made random children in the shower go "fetch" her a towel. Ridiculous. Lastly, I think that the worker should inform people when they are having swimming students come in and swim laps before they just force us to get out. The JCC had so much potential but they could do better.

I nanny part time and one of the kids I nanny attends a summer camp at Driving Park Community Recreation center. The program is staffed by youth (college kids/high school seniors) who are polite and respectful. They take field trips like most summer camps, and occasionally go swimming at the onsite pool & water park! The pool and water park is gorgeous! I was surprised to find this here. Definitely a hidden gem, something special for locals to enjoy. The inside of the recreation is always clean despite any number of kids coming and going, everytime I enter the building or leave the staff are cordial and speak to me. I feel welcomed and safe -- and like my kiddo is in good care. The gym at the center is comparable to a luxury apartment gym; I'm not sure what all is regularly required to access it but I'm sure the staff would be more than happy to answer questions! Columbus Parks & Rec offers a ton of cool and potentially free classes (sometimes spare for a low " materials fee") you just have to search the website after making an account which will sllow you to register for your classes. Wide range of classes from Ceramics, to swimming, acting, STE(A)M -- which is Science technology art and mathematics for kids and more!

The whole place is shiny and new and comfortable, with many amenities. There's a small cafe in the lobby, and it sounds like another on maybe the 4th floor? If I were a UA resident I'd be here often. They allow non-residents to use the pool for a fee, and I'm sure other areas too. Many areas are available to rent for meetings or parties, and they have classes in various activities.

I called to make sure they had an open desk and they sent me the invoice via email. Super easy to pay and they send the entrance code, Wi-Fi info and all other info you may need via email. I paid for a day pass (great value!) and was greeted at the door. Complimentary coffee and snacks are in the kitchen, with two levels of coworking space. There are couches if that's your vibe, desks or private offices. The space itself is GORGEOUSLY decorated and there is natural light everywhere! It was quiet and was just what I was looking for.
