Loved this place. My friend and I came here to grab drinks after a long day of exploring the city. It's a very chill environment and great place to hangout with friends. There's WiFi if you need it. Easily the most legitimate bespoke cocktail spot during our trip to Vienna. Not to mention, one of the more unique names, and a good homage to Bob Dylan. The place is situated more like a café than a cocktail bar, but it allowed the seating to be a lot more accommodating to larger groups. The only problem was temperature control, as it was incredibly warm, with no air conditioning and only a large fan at the door. The drinks were refreshing enough, but not quite enough to beat the heat. The cocktails themselves weren't terribly unique, but they did use great ingredients, and all the flavors were very well-balanced. I got my usual old-fashioned, and tried the Moscow Mule and espresso martini. I really enjoyed the old-fashioned, and the espresso martini was very tasty. The service was very attentive, and were very quick about getting us our drinks. The prices were pretty expensive for the area at about 10 Euros each, but as they were strong and well-made, it wasn't too much of a problem. Considering that many of the bars in Vienna only served things like Long Island Iced Teas and random, hackneyed mixed drinks, it was a welcome sight. Likely the best cocktail bar in the area that isn't crowded to the brim. There were plenty of other bars nearby, but none had the repertoire and laidback atmosphere. Okay - first of all let's start with the name. It's not that cryptic - it's the name of a Bob Dylan song from forever ago. But it's still a cool name! There seemed to be a lot of hipster poseurs in this establishment. They were kinda overdosing on coolness. Everyone was just in with what they wore and what they said. Now to be fair, my observation might not be that true. The place is def designed to be minimalistic cool, but maybe because I'm not that cool - my hipster rating remains low - I just projected that everyone around me was wanting to be seen in hipster heaven. Maybe I wanna be that cool and am a little jealous. Okay from one star I decided I better give it three stars. There's nothing outstanding here .... but there's nothing bad either. If you want a party atmosphere, or you want to get "turnt" this is not the place for you. If you want to enjoy a proper cocktail in a lively atmosphere with a friend (or even alone), then this IS the place for you. The bar I go to when I want to have a drink on a weekend night. I have been in some other bars, but they have a much different environment... they are typically much more crowded and loud... Maybe I haven't yet been in enough of them. This is a welcome relief from the crowds and noise. Don't get me wrong, there are a lot of people here on weekend nights, and with conversation and the music it's not quiet. Still, I could hear the person next to me without asking them to repeat 50 times. Decor is very simple, minimalist, and spacious. The high ceilings definitely add to the amount of space this location seems to have. I have been here on two occasions, and have tried a Cuba Libre, and an Amaretto Sour. Please be advised that I am new to alcohol, so I am not a connoisseur in the art of mixed drinks. Cuba Libre was good, I feel it could have been a little stronger, but I know that they mix drinks to rather exact proportions (and it was my first Cuba Libre), so I will give them the benefit of the doubt. Amaretto Sour was great! I loved how the sweetness and bitterness same together to form heaven in a cup. Service is great! First time I sat at a table so they just gave me the drink I ordered. However, when I sat at the bar, I was given a menu and glass of water right away. Drink was made as soon as I ordered, and the glass of water was not allowed to go empty. Yes, they are expensive, but then again, realize that the prices you see on the menu include taxes. I would rather see and pay 9 Euros on the menu, then see 7.50 and then get hit with an added tax is 20%. I think they do have snacks of some kind at this bar, but I would have liked them to be "advertised" just a touch better. Also, since people are commenting, I will add my two cents... most unusual restroom design, goes with he minimalism of the bar. However, I would have liked if it was a bit more clear where the men's and ladies' rooms are. Thankfully I did not get confused, but I think some people might find it unclear. I am sort of in between the hype. I love the name and the design of the place. I guess I just miss that something special. But in my own standards, the "dachboden" is the best place and that's what I always compare to. This place is pretty hip, as usual, I wish that the cocktails were more affordable. Cute and intimate bar. Trendy and not too loud for a saturday night. The drinks were made very well and there was quite the variety of specialty cocktails. Cherry smash was not too sweet, very light cognac. Pimm's cup was a bit too sweet for my palette but still refreshing. I tried quite a few more since they were reasonably priced at around 9 Euro each but the drinking made me a bit tipsy and obviously forgetful. Service was a bit slow but the staff was very helpful and everyone spoke english. read more

Aside from the somewhat cryptic name, the question on the minds of pretty much every veteran nightcrawler is: does the already pretty crowded gumpendorferstraße really need yet another hip, happening bar? Even if you're not one of those insufferable hedonistic booze brothers stalwartly proclaiming that you just gotta say yes to another excess, I'd say the answer is a resounding yes. The interior lives up to current expectations for fashionable watering holes: somewhere between a diner and Bladerunner, it looks pretty much the way the Babylon 5 cafeteria would (even though the weird, feathered mummy suspended over the stairs to the restrooms kinda freaks me out- you'll understand when you see it); still, nothing you haven't really seen before in the neighborhood, albeit far better executed than usual. Where IDRF really shines however is it's cocktails. Instead of offering the same old tired reportoire that has become tragically cliché for viennese cocktail bars, the owners put in considerable effort to serve exotic, archaic, obscure or otherwise very rarely seen cocktails, with a strong preference for recipies from the dawn age of the american bar. They're one of the few that actually have an old-fashioned done right. And their corpse reviver does all the name says: a real pick-me-up that slaps you in the face while getting that much closer to elegantly wasted. If you're tired of Pina Coladas and Caipiroskas and want something truly worthy of the name cocktail, this is the place to go. Nice chill spot, especially on the patio that is on the street basically. Cocktails are a bit expensive at 8 Euros but beer and shots are reasonable at 3.80. Service is helpful as the guy helped us pick a brandy. Crowd is a mix of people including tourists and locals and people of all ages. Definitely not a dive bar but good spot out of the main Vienna area to grab a drink away from the crowds. read more

I was really looking forward to this bar because I had seen a video about Vienna in the NY Times showcasing the place. The drinks and snacks were delicious, but the waiter got our order wrong and we had to wait a good 35-40 minutes for two TINY snacks. We ended up paying and going to eat at the restaurant across the street for some real food. The ceiling was beautiful but the atmosphere was not for me. Perhaps I didn't have the patience to sit there and be ignored. If you want to sit around a talk for a long time and aren't really hungry, then this would be a good hangout location. read more
