From the outset, our plan was to eat something from the counter display/fridge to reduce waiting time as much as possible, so we opted for a vegetable frittata, which - unbeknownst to me - takes about 40 minutes to heat up and serve with some pre-prepared side-salad.   When the waitress FINALLY came around with our food she began to profusely apologise before we could even say thank you, and so we figured that she may have forgotten our order temporarily, hence the extended wait time. I figured I would let it slide, given we were hungry and our warm food had arrived at least. My friend then cuts into her slice of the frittata and finds 3-4 cm of what I would eventually discover to be a 5-6 cm long hair poking out. NOT GOOD. VERY BAD.   I asked to speak to 'Mr. T' (if that was his REAL name), and I explained to him that there was a black hair sticking out of the half-eaten frittata slice. First he said that he had cooked the frittata himself, before denying that there was a hair in my friend's slice at all, so I pointed it out to him. He then STUCK HIS FINGERS into the frittata, pulled the single strand of HUMAN hair out, threw it on the floor, and said "Oh, that's just a fibre." REALLY. Last time I checked, fibres of ANY sort weren't widely accepted as common ingredients for a frittata, let alone hair. I said "No. It was CLEARLY hair." He then tried convince me that there was nothing in the frittata at all, to which I promptly replied "..because you just pulled it out and got rid of it." *sigh*   As you can imagine, my frustration grew at this point, so I began to mention the unreasonable wait time, and how our waitress was all of a sudden apologetic when serving our food, and by this point a few people eating at the front of the cafe had noticed the mildly heated discussion we were having. He then quickly cut me off, offered us our money back to which I diplomatically suggested a refund of the 'hair' meal only; $16.50. We left quickly, and we won't be back.   These days there's a good sized 'slice' of the internet that consists of 'review' sites, and much like the hair found in the slice of frittata at 'Mr. T and Me', I'm sure this review will be found in many of the review sites out there.

We turned off The Great Ocean Road to a crowd just outside the cafe. It turned out that there are…read moredozens of beautiful birds that will come up to you if you feed it seeds (which you can buy inside the cafe). We didn't buy any seeds and had enough fun just watching other people playing with the birds. I had read that Grey River Road is a good place for wild koala sightings so we got back into our car and headed up the road. The car behind us was in a rush and we decided to let it pass. That car drove up the hill so fast that it ran over one of the beautiful birds that had been sitting on someone's shoulder just a few minutes before. All of the bystanders and us were in shock! The car didn't stop at all and kept driving up the road. After recovering the traumatic death of the bird, we pulled over to the side of the road and watched a coupe of koalas climb trees. They are such natural climbers!

The lattes we got were really good to, we had them at the outside seating with a tasty vanilla slice. A great stop if you're doing the Great Ocean Road because you can buy bird seed from them (as well as a variety of other dry goods) and feed the many birds (cockatoos, parrots and more) in the immediate area right out of your hand. There are also several resident koalas high in the eucalyptus trees on the adjacent dirt road.

We dropped in here for breakfast, the waitress who came to our table was very nice, we ordered and…read moremy wife wanted scrambled eggs, but instead of normal toast, wanted fruit toast and asked that the fruit toast be on a separate plate on the side. Well you guessed it, the scrambled eggs were delivered not as ordered but on top of the fruit toast. Who in their right mind would put the scrambled eggs on top of fruit toast? Ever after it was specified on the side. Well you might think that mistakes happen, and you would be right, so my wife went up to the counter to point out the error and spoke to a senior employee, pointing out the error, she huffed and snatched the plate without even apologizing. Well eventually her breakfast came out, the same senior staff member huffed and said "Is everything alright now?" We said yes, and would you believe it she then said "Thank God". How incredibly rude, when travelling you really don't need such an attitude, plenty of pleasant places to eat without an attitude. Won't be going there again.
