"Our Lady of Protection" Church was constructed in 1613 but was burnt by the Dutch and reconstructed in 1644. It is located in the middle of the beautiful colonial city of Olinda (which was founded in 1535). This baroque church is 376 years old and continues to celebrate mass every Sunday. It's definitely worth a visit. read more

This church was originally built on the highest point in the city of Olinda in 1537. When the…read moreDutch invaded in 1631, the church and much of the city was burned. It was rebuilt in 1676, when it was elevated to the status of a Cathedral. Definitely worth a visit!
