So I went to IHOP this morning at 635 went to go in after the waitress that where outside smoking then they told us they where notready to open yet. When I ask if it was alright to sit inside to wait we where told no. We where asked to wait outside. For this reason alone I will never go back this was not the first unpleasant visit to this location. Only my second time here. I ordered a turkey dinner. The only bit that was palatable was the broccoli. Turkey was slathered in a layer of canned gravy, which had congealed. As well it was sliced turkey loaf that was overcooked and tough around the edges. The stuffing was soggy and the potatoes were lumpy. If you want something good here stick to pancakes. read more

A pity really, I've been to many IHOP restaurants in the States and never had a bad meal. At THIS LOCATION however . . give it a miss. While the service was decent considering how busy the restaurant was, the food, in a word - IS HORRIBLE. I ordered the Turkey/Avocado Bennie, which the menu said had a creamy WHITE CHEDDAR cheese sauce. If that sauce had white cheddar in it, I'll eat my shirt. It tasted like cheap white sauce made from a packet, which means it was basically wallpaper paste. The sauce and the eggs underneath were cool as well and the avocado slices were all bruised and mushy. All our meals were on the cool side to boot. Great for a salad, but NOT for eggs, sausages, omelettes or cream sauces. WILL NEVER DARKEN THE DOORSTEP of an Edmonton IHOP ever again. read more

Called in for pick-up. Lady on the phone asked me to wait as she was attending to other customers . Did not muted the phone so I heard the customers paying and followed by a conversation with her co-worker about the colour of their clothing. I waited over 5 mints listening to this . Decided to hang up and call again just to find out I couldn't even get my call to go thru for some reason, just kept saying busy. Food was great as always . Staff needs to care more ! read more

Horrible expirence. Had to send back 3 steaks 3 times because the supposed "chef" doesn't know how to do rare. It was either blue rare or well done. The manager said that's just how they come. They use frozen meat its not fresh. They did however comp the steaks but still that's not the point the cook should know how to prepare a steak any way the customer asks. I fully understand this being their first week open there will be a few kinks to work out and for the most part i believe they have. The place is still incredibly busy with wait times being around 25-30 they tell you. Ours was around 45 minutes. I don't see the problem most ppl had with empty tables not being clean fast as they were right on it when we were there. Also I seen complaints of the manager and I did see him there running the front and getting ppl seated etc.. I think I was more disappointed in the general rudness and lack of understanding in the ppl that were waiting, between the comments and the rude woman that put her leg out to trip me as I was going out I just about lost it. If anything I believe that would be my main complaint that they need to not allow so many ppl to block the inner area as ppl are generally rude and won't let you by. Anyways I had the create your sweet crepe deal with the strawberrys and cream, it being my first time I was kind of the fence but wouldn't get those again as was kind of weak in flavor. I did enjoy the hash brown, bacon, sausage though. I would ask for medium or whatever you call it as my egg had that jiggly white stuff I hate but my fault again and I do thank our waiter for suggesting a better option for next time as he did see my bf and I switching plates (bf had same thing and said it was great). His father had some kind of spinach omelet which was huge with toast and I forget what else and ended up taking half home.. Yay breakfast for tomorrow. I do have to add that my boyfriend originally wanted the I believe it was country fried steak but they were out of it. All in all not bad I'm sure they'll work out the kinks in mth or so as the management had told us.. Went here with the family on a weekday morning and it was surprisingly busy. Even still, they were quick with seating everyone and taking orders. It seemed as though they had plenty of staff on to handle the rush, so they must be busy every day. Our server was quick and friendly and the food was awesome, I had the chicken and waffles, my husband had the steak omelette. We will be back for sure! read more

Was seated and she didn't even give me menu had to get up to retrieve menu myself and looked around for service for coffee 10 mins. Food did not arrive for 15 mins, how hard is it to make 3 pancakes with less than half the place with people. This is 2nd time here, will not be coming back. I went to the IHop in Sherwood Park and I will never, never go again. The girl there, I am not sure if I am allowed to mention her name, but she was the worst ever. I ordered eggs basted Medium. I cannot eat eggs with runny whites, so that is why I order basted medium. The menu says medium is firm whites with a semi firm yolk. I would love to post the video that I took, so I can get other peoples opinions. But they were so runny and disgusting, so she took them and got me some new ones. But they came back the same way, if not worse. When I complained again, she yelled, so the whole restaurant could hear, "what you are still not happy with them", do I have to return them again". I was so embarrassed, so I kept them but I didn't even eat them or much of anything I ordered. And she still charged me for the full meal. My wife and sons wanted a nice Sunday morning breakfast, we decided to pass up our regular Coras to try IHOP. The last time we ate at IHOP was when they first opened on the Southside about 5 years ago. We got in and there was a bit of wait maybe 10 mins. That was to be expected. My wife is celiac so we were worried about what choices she would have. Our water came quickly but seemee hurried and disorganized, but he did answer all of questions and was quick to offer some gluten free options. My 2 sons aged 4 and 2 both wanted the children's pancakes. I ordered the basic egg breakfast with pancakes. My wife ordered an omelet. The food came fast but was missing some things which was brought over by another server. As we were eating my wife got a few bites into her omelet and was a little concerned when something came oozing out of the middle. I called the server over to question and he assured us that the omelet was GF. He did offer to check with the cooks in the back and we agreed he should. He came a few minutes later with an opened bag of Knorr cheese sauce and showed us the ingredients. Informed us that this was in fact the oozing substance in the middle of her omelet. My wife didn't eat much more of her breakfast. I ate my eggs and hash and sausage. I had a couple bites of the pancakes but they left a horrible taste in my mouth. My boys ate everything on their plates. I till after lunch couldn't get the taste out of my mouth and my wife and I both complained about the upset stomachs we had for the bulk of the day. I felt the food was fresh but all of it was...I don't know how to articulate the way I feel about the food. I just know we probably would never go back. Worst location I have ever been to. Should of known it be bad from the beginning. Went in totally ignored by the hostess, she was unfriendly, then the waitress was even ruder. Came in for their new promo pancakes and they were out of the strawberry cream cheese ones. Not too sure how this happens when you just started the promo. Waitress had no personality seems like she actually hates her job. Started off with asking drinks both of us started off with just waters, she rolls her eyes and walks away. We usually get a beverage when the meal arrives but she never asked slammed the plates down when food came out. Real classy by the way. The whole experience was just terrible. Ok....VERY happy to have an IHOP so close to home! It's new so I will temper comments both good and bad. I was greeted with a smile and a happy to see me attitude. This is a plus. My server took a few minutes to greet me and was a quiet and seemed shy person. Not the best qualities for a server but not off putting. He was polite and that's a good start. As I was here for dinner I decided to shy away from pancakes etc because EVERYBODY knows IHOP rules on breakfast! Ordered the Philly cheesesteak sandwich. First failure. Sorry sir...we don't have the buns for that but if you really want it we can make it on normal bread that goes in the toaster....ok let's give that a whirl. Not horrible and probably better for me anyhow. The waiter turned a fail into a pass. Good job! I ordered seasoned fries....they're not really seasoned. Some have salt on them. Kind of a fail but they were ok as is. He gave me ketchup too so ok. The waiter checked on me no less than 5 times before bringing me the bill to see if he could make anything better or how it was going. Might have been a bit Much for some but I felt looked after. The restaurant is new and clean but something DID impress me. They had a large party of about 15 against the back wall when I came in. They finished up and left about 5 minutes or so after I was seated. The staff was on it! They had dishes cleared and the tables returned to 7 tables for couples in no time AND also got 3 vacated booths cleared at the same time. Impressive turnover. I would describe my first visit as positive all around and they made Me forget the bun swap and that I was seated in the middle of the restaurant. First time going to IHOP was the greatest as anyone would have known its also known as INTERNATIONAL HOUSE OF PANCAKES. The food was terrible well besides the pancake, i asked for the eggs over hard, got them done scrambled. My waitress was the rudest lady i have ever met. She did not even bother checking up on me with the food. I had to go out of my way to get the right eggs i wanted. After finishing a TERRIBLE meal, I finally met my waitress ( almost did not recognize her ) she gave me my receipt. I ordered a pancake combo which includes 2 eggs, hash browns and bacon strips. I substituted the bacon strips for turkey strips. i glanced on the receipt my pancake combo which costed 9.99 now said 10.99 and my drink which was 2.99 altogether costed 19.07. I argued with manger about this and his response was " it makes sense " yet he did not bother on explaining to me how it made sense. read more

A negative 10 stars is acceptable for this location. Rude servers to start off with, once we received our food there was a single hair on the eggs that could be noticed from 3 blocks away. Attention to detail negative 1 star. We requested an order of toast with our meals and received what would be considered white bread slightly toasted with crisco spread on it for dessert. I prefer to eat my over easy eggs with toast not after my meal is gone and all that is left is perfectly, precise cut egg yolks waiting for the accompanying toast. After the hair incident the plate was "remade" still lacking the toast that we imagined to be the greatest toast on the planet as it would take longer to make it than it takes to make 3 plates of food. Needless to say we didn't get to enjoy our toast and eggs due to the lack of interest in wanting to TRY and enjoy cold eggs and piss poor excuse of toast. To add to the experience we met 2 wonderful people seated across from us enjoying the same experience as we did. They asked for a pot of hot water for their tea, just like 90% of the population now a days. Instead they received a pot of brown water and the waitress states well I guess they didn't clean it properly. Lol. This experience was a test pilot dinner for my wife and I to which I'm glad to say I will never bring my family or subject any one else's to Icrap whoops I mean IHOP.
