It would be interesting to know if the lack of attic ventilation was an oversight, ignorance, or simply cost-cutting. All homes should have some sort of ventilation. And if a builder is installing soffit vents then it is imperative for the builder to make sure ridge vents are installed. There are so many unfinished details that have made owning this 2017 home a headache and costly! If buying from Juanita Couch please don't let her use the house passed inspection as an okay to buy the home. My backyard grading and drainage cost over $2,800. The attic ventilation is going to cost another $1,000+. My cooling bill this summer is costing $120+ to keep my thermostat on 74, which the bedrooms range to 77 and 79 (using Ecobee with sensors). Meaning the home is lacking in the insulation.
