There are more locations scattered around, so they have a smaller selection of goods in each one. What trip to Sweden would be complete without a visit to IKEA? I wanted to go to IKEA because the idea of doing so was ridiculous, and I admit that I was pretty excited to visit IKEA in its birthplace, but I was disappointed. First of all, the food was terrible. I ordered my usual, the salmon, which is a warm dish, but mine was cold (my sister's was warm). Second, even though there was free wifi, I was not able to log on to my online dating account because it was deemed "adult content", which was frustrating because I was trying to coordinate meeting up with someone. Third, there were only a couple of cash registers open and the line ups were extremely long. And of course they only opened up more cash registers as we were finally near the front of the line. There is a free bus going to and from the central train station and IKEA, but it's not particularly convenient as it only leaves once an hour. Despite being aware of the bus schedule and planning accordingly, we nearly missed the bus in both directions as there was a lot of construction going on around the station and we had a difficult time finding the bus stop as it had been moved from its usual location, and we waited in line at least 20 minutes to pay for our items . So while there is free transport for those wishing to go to IKEA, it's not worth the trip and inconvenience. Unfortunately we couldn't buy much because of luggage restrictions, but we did buy a few odds and ends. There was a lot of stuff that we hadn't seen before, but I'm not sure if it was because I hadn't gone to IKEA in over a year, or if it was a Swedish thing. There was one minor mishap when I was putting away my tray and dishes in the cafeteria. At my local IKEA, you put away your tray and dishes on a rack, but at this IKEA, there is a small conveyor belt on which you put your tray and dishes, and it is carried off to the back. Pretty nifty, huh? Well, I put my tray on the conveyor belt and my glass tipped over. I tried to set my glass upright but couldn't grab it as the tray was moving, and the knocked over glass caught on something, preventing my tray from moving forward, as well as everyone else's tray that was set down after mine, resulting in quite a mess as trays piled up on each other. They really need a button to stop or pause the conveyor belt! read more

Really fun and cool experience! Loved that there were three main areas for food in case you got tired or hungry through the IKEA experience. I just walked around the store and this place is MASSIVE but mostly came here for the food which was so good and SO AFFORDABLE. Got a roasted Salmon with vegetables and potatoes cakes for 75 kr (65 if you have the family card) and a huge chocolate bar for only 5kr as well as a bunch of Swedish sweets. Of course, also tried the Swedish meatballs here which are delicious with the mashed potatoes and jam! Also had a huge Swedish market outside the checkout area and a food court so you can purchase what you bought at the cafes or restaurants in the store. Pretty much the exact same layout as American IKEAS just bigger and of course more exciting since this one was actually in Sweden! Worth a visit if you have time and can make it into the suburbs! :) read more

"Largest Ikea in the world"? Really? Ye could of fooled me! The levels in this branch are small and flow in a circle, having display rooms and then the actual purchasable items on a seperate lower floor. Trying to navigate from each level with a trolley was painful. The lifts are too small to fit more than two trolleys in and trying to find the ramps is really confusing. Eventually we gave up on the trolley and just carried our items instead. It wasn't until we got to the level with the kitchen wear/garden section etc, that we recognised an Ikea we knew and loved. The restaurant was ok but jam packed with people, we had to line up for about 15 minutes to get food. However this was to be expected on a Sunday afternoon i suppose. We each got meatballs and a dessert. Which were tasty and a great price. I also picked up some items from there grocery section for a great deal! All in all, it's still ikea. Great prices, cool design and really affordable food. I -2 stars because of its confusing layout and the underwhelming feeling I was left with having just visited the "largest" ikea in the world. read more

From the sound of the other reviews I probably went on one of the less busy days. I've never really been a fan of Ikea until I went here recently and noticed that everything I have already bought in the city and don't care about the quality of costs 1/5 of the price. Example: Bathroom Squeegee at ICA Maxi: 50kr. IKEA: 9kr. Shoe horn at ICA Maxi: 50kr. IKEA: 9kr. And on and on. And the staff is actually helpful and friendly, but I guess if it's super busy you might not be able to get their attention. It's also a nice place for people watching. Same day front door delivery for 299kr is really reasonable and the delivery guy was nice as well. Going to IKEA Is definitely an event, but I have to say it's really nice to know there is a place you can go to solve almost all your problems if you're tired of looking elsewhere. read more

The very first IKEA warehouse in the world, nowadays also the largest one. This place will provide you with everything you need, everything you dont need, and also some other stuff that just happens to end up in your cart. Its not just the biggest one, but also minutely planned as a maze, that will make you spend most of your hard-earned cash once you enter it. But most of the stuff is pretty useful, and it isnt very expensive as you may know. They have a nice restaurant on top, that now also serve a great breakfast. And if you dont have time sitting down, you can always crab one of the cheap hot-dogs downstairs on the run. Try avoiding holiday peaks and weekends if you can, but i cant promise you being alone even if you do. This is Sweden in a box, a very large box, so dont be afraid of going here and make a bargain. read more

Built like a maze, takes like 2 hours of you life. Everything is extremely expensive, and you pay for a paper.. The actual stock is at nearly 2km from the store. The que-system there is not good (at all) and sometimes, you 400USD paper is not correctly printed. Back to the store, 20min customer service, and then, finally, you get your stuff.... IKEA is IKEA! What can I say about it that's hasn't already been said? Is there anyone in Sweden who doesn't own anything from here? That would be super hard to pull off! Ha! You can't deny the price difference on the stuff here to other places in Sweden. You just can't! It's so frickin' cheap. I can't quit this place no matter how much I want to! I think everyone can agree that, like H&M, the "design" (and copied design) here is ok, but the quality is lacking. I was just having a flash back to this memory of a cheap Ikea dresser in my teenage bedroom falling apart right after my parents bought it and my dad trying to temporarily duck tape it together again (If you can't duck it, f*** it, right?) Haha! I just don't fully understand the attitude of high design and low quality? Can't we at least have high design and like "medium quality"? Who knows what some of this stuff is made of!? I know IKEA is nice if you need furniture and are strapped for cash, but for such an eco-conscious country the disposable attitude of these products are a little conflicting. I think thats probably why IKEA's business practices have such a commitment to sustainability--to ward of bad press. LOL. However, despite my philosophical conundrum, I do get that it's incredibly great resource for people who can't afford quality furniture. Though, I do believe that your paying a price either way. Sorry to go all hippie, but the planet is paying for you people!!! We all want more for our money. You just can't have your cake and eat it too, I guess. I gave it three stars and an "A-ok" rating because it is what it is. I'm guilty of shopping here on occasion and there are things I do like about it. The IKEA here is convenient and close to a lot of other shopping. If you buy something big they deliver to your home for a cheap fee. I also like that they have pretty much everything you need for a starter home. I know that when I was at university my whole dorm (and then apartment) was alllll IKEA. Oh well... I'll probably keep coming here once in a while, but i'll still feel kinda bad about it. =P read more

I love IKEA, as simple as that. This is still the largest one in Sweden if I am not mistaken and they have literally everything you need for decent prices. The only reason why I can not give it 5 stars is because the aisles are too narrow for the amount of people that ikea has daily, extremely crowded and makes it annoying to get around. read more
