The fun is everywhere, from a large mock-up of VHS cases to the left of the bar, to the industrial-looking steps to nowhere that punters can sit on, to the cheeky message below a high window that states "This emergency exit may require Parkour." Unlike too many BrewDog bars in the UK, it's quite well lit too, making the whole experience less gloomy and instead uplifting. That's all backed up by really friendly staff, who were happy to point out local Finnish beer including an extraordinary one that tasted of ripe banana. There's also free wifi, the password seemingly the same as that found in other BrewDog bars.. The beer is expensive, no doubt, but that seems to be a Helsinki/Finland-wide thing rather than particular to BrewDog. Plus, unlike Bryggeri, you can taste the beer here before you buy it, which is certainly welcome.

I tasted Mission Brewery IPA, Sierra Nevada Flipside Red IPA, and Sierra Nevada Celebration Ale. I haven't seen these anywhere else in Finland. I could tell the staff were still learning the menu -- a few blank stares when ordering. The place just opened, and given the broad, exotic menu I sympathize. Their extensive selection comes with a price -- be prepared to drop some dough if you want to sample the tasty brews. Definitely worth checking out -- stop by and sip something new!

The place had also selected their drinks carefully to display a great variety of Finnish specialties. To our surprise, they even serve Sandels and Iisalmi IPA beers on tap! It's not a very big bar, with seats surrounding the kegs, which are the best seats in the house because you get samples! They serve Mexican roasted crickets at the bar. Yes, you can eat insects here! The bartender was really friendly, and kept the place in good order. Some ruffians came in looking for trouble, and the bartender instantly took charge and restored order by throwing them out. Sävy was a short walk, and the coffee shop I found that opened the earliest. Though it's listed as being open at 7:30, they actually open at 8am. I showed up at 7:47, and happily waited the extra 13 minutes until they invited me in. (What else am I going to fucking do with 13 minutes?). I ordered a breakfast combo that included a croissant, granola/yogurt bowl, and upgraded my coffee drink to a double cappuccino. The barista asked me what perfume I was wearing because apparently I smelled good. I remarked that it may have been the woman ahead of me, but it happened to be the dude's girlfriend, so he was pretty sure it wasn't her. I wasn't wearing a fragrance but the air BnB had a Linden Blossom bath wash...anyways. I was feeling good about smelling good even though I felt like shit. I digress I was stupid hungry, so I demolished that croissant before my coffee drink and granola bowl was ready. It was buttery, flaky, fresh and delicious. "On point" as the kids say. I was too tired to remember to order oat milk with my coffee, so I drank it with whole milk. It was rich, and chocolately like I like my coffee drinks. I might pay for the whole milk later, but it couldn't be worse than the airline food I had yesterday. So fuck it. The granola bowl with yogurt was legit. Breakfast here just hits different. The presentation was great, and it had the perfect ratio of fruit, honey, and cinnamon. I had a little more time to kill so I ordered another single cappuccino with oatmilk this time (internally convincing myself it would offset the whole milk drink) it was also delicious. Additionally, they have a pretty dope music playlist, wi-fi, and cool art on the walls. I'll be coming back every morning until my stay here is up. Kiitos, Sävy
