Offering a menu in English as well, this ensures that you will not have an issue ordering if the Italian language is not there yet. I opted for the local spaghetti with anchovy, lemon, and cheese; and it was what you would expect for a great home cooked meal. Do call in advance for a reservation as they can fill up quickly during a nightly service.

So, on arrival, there were no outside seats available. The place was very busy. We were quickly seated inside but, then we were ignored for an unusually long time, even for Italy. No apologies were provided. After we finally received service our experience greatly improved. We asked about the rose house wine and were graciously provided a sample by or friendly server. Then we ordered additional wine and our meals. My wife ordered the chicken stew which turned out to be an excellent homemade olive infused slowly cooked dish with carrots and potatoes. I ordered slow cooked meatballs in Pomodoro Sauce which was served with a bit of light cream on top, also excellent. But the best part of the meal were the small crusty hot rolls provided to not miss eating ALL the wonderful sauces of our dishes. So, the food was a resounding 5 but, we had to rate the restaurant a 4 overall due to the initial experience. That said, we would gladly return but will make reservations first. We highly recommend it.

Let me start off this review by saying this was my favorite meal when visiting Sicily. There aren't…read moreenough accolades that I could give to this restaurant. We went to this restaurant after walking out of someplace else. Because it was during the off-season, we had the entire place to ourselves. It is quiet and romantic, and definitely a date night spot. The menu is very authentic and very local. For example, we saw that one of the first courses had donkey sauce. At first, we thought it was a translation error (don't look it up on urban dictionary either!) but then saw that there also was a donkey chop on the menu. It turns out that donkey is a Ragusan specialty; we passed. I ordered the pasta with bottarga sauce and my husband got pasta with lemon sauce. While I love bottarga, I liked my husband's dish even more. Both dishes had wonderfully fresh pasta and were well sauced. The bread that was brought to the table became the benchmark that we used to judge bread for the remainder of the journey. There were three kinds, all of which were homemade: breadsticks, little rolls that are similar to pao de queijo, and a sort-of sourdough. Oh, the carbs were all so lovely. For dessert, I had a cannoli that was the size of flashlight but worth every calorie. The shell was thin and the cream was not too sweet. I can't recall what my husband ordered. My husband had a glass of wine that was lovely. The restaurant has a wonderful selection including wines by the glass. Even though ordered by the glass, a fresh bottle was opened table side complete with wine aerator pourer. Service was lovely; attentive but not overbearing. If this place was local, I would come way more often much to dismay of my jeans. Please visit if you are ever in Ragusa. One of the best dining experiences I have had in years.

The interior really has not changed much at all in many years and not sure the dishes have themselves. Although of high quality and very good, I was just not blown away. Service and staff were all kind, knowledgeable, and helpful during my dining experience. There was zero language barrier and all smiles. I am grateful for the dining opportunity there but if given the choice between their peers I might choose another one or just opt for trying a lunch service and not dinner.

This is tough. How could a Michelin starred restaurant not get 5 stars? The biggest reason I…read moresuppose is there where no epiphanies. The other reason is one course out of eight was pomodora. In my opinion each course in a Michelin restuarant should stand on it's own. This course was the least inspired pasta I had in a week of Sicily. The evening was great and everyone was very professional. I feel eight courses filled both of us well. The wine was paired well. We did have to shut the wine down I think after 5 or 6 courses. The lovely young bride was rapidly descending pasted buzzed. Would I go again? Probably not. These kind of restaurants are experience based and I am in search of a food epiphany and I didn't get it here.
