This is an idyllic retreat and the perfect base for a Tuscan holiday. Absolutely quiet, lovely views and 10 minutes from the wonderful San Gimignano
Andrea and Berta own and run this small hotel created out of cluster of building in the tiny 16th Century village of Libbiano.
The hotel itself is a fantastic mix of eclectic antique furniture and modern artworks all set in a rustic restored farmhouse.
Our suite consisted of 2 large rooms and a substantial terrace. The hotels has its own small gardens and decent sized pool and is set amidst woods and vines.
Breakfast and dinner can be taken outside (no lunch is available). The cooking is mouthwatering traditional Italian homecooking - at least 4 courses, but no choices (though Vegetarians are well looked after). The produce is all local with much of it grown right on the doorstep.
But on top of the location, the quiet beauty and the great cooking, what makes casolare di libbiano so special is Berta and Andrea. They appear to take a simple but absolute delight in sharing their home with their guests. read more
