I've heard a lot of good things about Il Figlio Di Emiliano from the locals and wanted to give it a try! The restaurant is super quant and the tables are very intimate. From what I gathered, lunch service is reservation only and dinner service is first come first serve. This place exclusively sells pizzas and has a small dessert menu. All pizzas are thin Neapolitan style with various topping choices.
My table and I ordered four types of pizza: Pesto Margarita, Diavola, Preferita di Mamma, and the Ortolana di Nola (Veggie). For dessert we ordered the classic tiramisu, pistachio tiramisu, and the Chocolate and Pistachio cream.
Ratings of each pizza-
Pesto Margarita: 6/10 (Wasn't impressed by the flavors, couldn't make out much of any of the ingredients, seasonal item)
Preferita di Mamma: 7/10 (too oily)
Ortholana: 9/10 (so good, pickles are sweet, but no meat)
Diavola: 10/10 (my favorite)
Ratings of each dessert-
Classic tiramisu: 6/10 (better than pistachio, but so dry)
Pistachio tiramisu: 5/10 (even more dry than the classic version, pistachio flavor is minimal)
Chocolate and Pistachio cream: 8/10 (flavor is good, but so tiny!)
Overall, I was impressed by the flavors and quality of ingredients. The pizzas were all pretty good, but by far the Diavola was my favorite. The toppings were so delicious. Unfortunately, the desserts looked better than they tasted. My favorite was the cream dessert, but it was so small! And for its size the taste is not that special. The two tiramisu's were a big let down as they were both so dry.
Overall, cute spot and I'm glad I tried it! read more
