Greatest StumbleUpon restaurant in Barcelona. The pizza and pasta were amazing. Service was incredible.

O Principe has it all - welcoming and attentive service, fresh and flavorful food, and a warm and inviting atmosphere. I came here one evening with my father during our visit to Spain, and it was the best dinner we had during our stay there. For appetizers, we got the burrata and mozzarella carrozza, and both of them were out of this world. If you visit O Principe, please do yourself a favor and get both of these dishes. Entrees were the Diavola pizza and the Caprese Salad. Both were amazing. The cheese is so fresh, it tastes as if they got it the morning of your meal. The crust is the perfect consistency and thickness, without being too much bread. Everything here is all flavor. For dessert, we split the best cannoli I've ever had in my entire life. I'm not a cannoli connoisseur, but I've had enough to know that this one was amazing. We had nothing short of an outstanding experience at this restaurant, highly recommend you check it out during a trip to Barcelona. read more

Love everything about this place...the food, the service, the owner, the ambience! We had a fabulous burrata appetizer followed by a Fresca pizza, homemade seafood black pasta special, cannoli and espresso! So delicious!!! This was one of the recommended restaurants in the area according to Yelp. On the first night we could not find this place as the front is tiny. On the way back from tapas it was then we spotted it from across the street. We made an oath to return and I'm so glad we did. This is a cozy, gorgeous rustic Italian. Rich reds gold, garlic hanging on stone walls, and candlelight reflected in many mirrors. Having being greeted at the large bar a dressed down waiter led us to a table furthest to the back. The pizza oven radiated heat so we immediately removed our shrugs. Another waiter arrived, who I think was Italian and really witty, funny and welcoming. I requested a large glass of Red wine, my friend a coke. My glass was so large, it made the couple adjacent laugh. For €6 there was half a bottle in there easily! It was however cold, oddly I was thankful for it because of the heat! The menu was simple, from cheese, squid, bruchetta, fried pizza, to veal and classic carbonara. Having looked at the stack of pizza delivery boxers and their contents we ordered a margarita pizza to share..followed by carbonara (no cannaloni available) and seafood pasta. This pizza was divine, proper tomato sauce with fresh melted mozzarella..easily the best one I've ever had. My main was very interesting, large tubular pasta with clams, mussels, squid and a huge prawn..I could not place the sauce it was tangy and different. Carbonara was also classicly made with egg. Finally a tiramisu was shared ..very creamy and not the best but still good. Only downside we must have asked for the bill three times. When we finally got it it was only €46!! A complimentary shot of this lemon stuff was also served which jolted me awake..it tasted like jiff yuck. Overall I highly recommend this place, proper Italians (I think) with good freshly homemade food at reasonable prices . read more

A pleasant surprise in Barcelona! We came in late at night in search for some brick oven pizza and good wine, O Principe had both. My pizza was made with nice chunks of artichoke, prosciutto, and incredibly fresh mozzarella. My friend got a star shaped calzone pizza which none of us had seen before. Each corner was stuffed with different ingredient. Fun dish. Some good Sicilian wine and top notch tiramisu to make a perfect chill night. The owner Enzio is incredibly charming and sweet, he chatted with us and served us some freshly baked dessert brought from Italy that morning. The wait staff was nice and attentive too. We highly recommend this casual Italian joint for a pleasant delicious night in Barcelona. read more

This was the very first restaurant I tried in Barcelona. Although I try to discover new places, we also decided to go there for our last meal before we leave Spain. Pizzas are delicious, there are a few vegetarian options (which is a dealbreaker in my case!), prices are good and they also offered free Limoncello at the end. If you pass by Poblenou or stay there a few days, this place is definitely a must! read more

One of the best places that my wife and i have visited since we got to Barcelona. We had great food and drinks. The owner was there and hooked us up with multiple drinks and also spoke with us for a while. The staff was outstanding and even remembered us when we came back a few days later. Definitively one of my favorites for Pizza in Barcelona. They have great Pizza, are great with the kids and overall very friendly.

I will try to put into words my experience at this restaurant. The four of us (traveling from Portland, Oregon) had looked up this restaurant and the reviews online, but when we arrived they would not open for another 30 minutes. We felt foolish, stepped outside and were busy looking on our phones for an alternate place. That's when the owner of the restaurant, an older distinguished gentleman came out and waved us in. He opened early just for us. We ordered a few pizzas and shared an amazing bottle of red wine. The atmosphere was just so quaint. The service was just amazing. The entire staff gave us their attention, even as other customers entered. We were given free shots of a yummy liqueur, and just had so much fun with the owner and staff. Then came the best part... The dessert. Follow my advice, and GET THE CANNOLI... Actually, get two cannolis...lol They really made us feel like we had been invited into their home. It was such a special memory from our trip. Two couples from So. California ended a two week cruise in Barcelona. We spent the day on a four hour bike tour and walked down the very busy Main Street in the city. Needless to say e had eaten well for 14 days and now we were on our own. We found this little gem a few blocks from our hotel using the dining guide provided. We left the hotel about 6:30 pm and headed toward the restaurant. We arrived a bit before 7 pm and discovered they did not open until 7:30. (This is common in most European cities) Anyway we stuck our heads in the door (it was open) and asked if we could wait inside as it was getting cold outside. Not only did the owner invite us in, he offered us drinks (we got a pitcher of Sangria). When he delivered it to the table he took our order for dinner. From our table we could watch them prepare and cook our pasta and pizza. The restaurant was very small and very well decorated, the food was very much to our tastes and the service and flexibility with the hours of operation were very much appreciated. We would go back in a heart beat. read more
