This restaurant was a lovely seafood restaurant, directed to us by our villa owner. I was very…read morepleased with it-- the fish were fresh, the service was outstanding, and the crowd of locals it brought in were fun. It is not a restaurant for the faint of heart, though-- expect full fish with heads, full octopi, etc. We started off with an octopus appetizer, which I loved. It was tasty, juicy, and the perfect texture. My first course was a clam pasta, in which I was given at least sixty little clams atop fresh, oily noodles. I have a feeling I'm not on Mulberry Street, anymore, Toto! I followed that up with a green peppercorn steak, which had a sauce so delightful that I ate every single peppercorn well after I had finished all of the meat! Post-meal, we were given iced wine drinks served in champagne glasses and homemade limoncello on the house. Service was friendly and quite accommodating. The weird thing is that they staggered our dishes one-by-one... But I think that was totally our fault, because we had tried to explain that we were sharing the octopus, but I think that was lost in translation and they thought that we were sharing EVERYTHING. It didn't matter-- vacations should have no time frame!!! Lighting inside was very bright, which was really odd, but it didn't detract from our experience at all. It's well worth the trip, especially if you are away from the sea but craving delicious seafood. I would go here again if I ever found myself in this region again.

Where do I start??…read more I'll start with an O. Then an M. Then a G. Then a YUM! We are two adults and two kids (10 and 13 years old). We just drove in today after 3 days in Venice where we had really good food. We were tired and hungry and a quick Google search showed us this restaurant very close to our hotel. We didn't have reservations and we walked in just before a large birthday party and they accommodated us quickly and with a "prego!" It's a small restaurant but not too small, and a little loud which is fine because we could hear each other fine. We started with the mussels, which were excellent (and better than anything we've had in the States where we usually eat lots of mussels). The broth was tasty and the mussels just a bit small, but it served the 4 of us and we were left wanting a LOT more. For meals, my wife had scaciatielli with clams and shrimps, and I had spaghetti with clams. They were divine with a generous amount of seafood. My daughter had gnocchi alla' sorrentina and enjoyed it very much - she's a gnocchi connoisseur and said it was her favorite gnocchi ever. I stole a piece and have to agree. They were soft but not gummy with an excellent sauce and cheese. My son had the pizze bufalo, which was awesome with a little thicker crust than you get in Venice. For dessert (and you KNOW we got dessert) we had chocolate cheesecake and chocolate cake with coconut mousse. If you like coconut, the coconut mousse will blow you away! The cheesecake comes in a jar, deconstructed, but covered in chocolate sauce. We had to pry it out of my daughter's hands! Overall, we'll be in Cortona 3 days. We'll eat here all three days! Tutte buona!!!! Perfetto!

When we approached the host he asked us if we prefer to sit in or out. We set out and were surveying the couple of tables between the restaurant and via Caravaggio. Two are surprised and delight he let us across the street to a large terrazzo overlooking the marina and let us to a terrific table there. So everything we ordered was transported by the staff across traffic. The Terazzo filled up quickly with couples and large families enjoying the atmosphere and fabulous cuisine. The service was simultaneously professional and exuded family feeling. As it showed there were several generations of the owners family in the front and back of house. Our piece de resistance was a sea bass grilled for two. magnificent. And for dessert we had a transporting Baba al limoncello. The Baba's were so delicious and so soaked, it was a good thing we had walked to the restaurant and wouldn't have to drive home!

My wife ordered the grilled calamari as a starter and it was PERFECT. The owner of the restaurant was helping us and he showed me the fresh seafood that had just come in. I saw a branzino and he said it was enough for two persons. He offered to do it in a salt bake even though it was not on his daily menu. My wife wanted a side of fresh pasta but not an entire plate. He offered to do a half portion for her. The food did not disappoint. The place is a bit rustic but the food and service was excellent. The entire bill was 80 euros, which we found very inexpensive for the food we ate and wine we drank.
