To start, the Assagi di Mare was an assortment of five seafood appetizers: octopus/potato salad, mixed seafood salad, smoked salmon, and two other local fishes. It took a while for our mains to arrive, but the presentation was stunning. The Grigliata Mista di Pesce was a platter of grilled sea bass, scampi, prawns, squid, and tuna; but the highlight was the catch of the day, a local red fish baked whole in an oven and served with a tomato sauce with stewed tomatoes and olives. The fish were deboned and served tableside, and the flavors of all the dishes were delicious and on point. The service was super friendly and helpful with recommendations, and overall, this was an amazing dining destination!

It came with prawns, mussels, clams, lobster, shrimp, and crab. All fresh and perfectly cooked. Every bite was full of flavor and you could tell the ingredients were top quality. The menu featured a variety of local seafood and house made pasta. For me, the standout was the local specialty of fregola made with saffron and the local thin bread baked with rosemary (carasau). My husband's appetizer portion of seafood stew had oysters, clams, langoustines...so good. Our host picked out a nice bottle of local Vermintino that complimented our lunch well. We were finished off with house pours of mirto, the local liquer made from the myrtle plant.

Really ridiculously wonderful place from top to bottom. Our hotel had a habit of liking to send us to their brother's, cousin's and sister's restaurants and always deterred us from going anywhere they didn't want us to by complaining about how far it was. On a map, Porto Rotondo said it was about 40-45 mins from Porto Cervo where we stayed but it was really a quick and beautiful 20-25 minute drive. Don't be dissuaded - it's worth the drive from anywhere in Costa Smeralda.
