I joined their kickboxing membership on0 March 27th and injured myself on March 28th, so I called them to inform them that I had a class on March 29th that I would not be able to attend because I injured my rotator cuff. So, I was informed from Quan to reach out to jenkintownmanagement@ilovekickboxing.com Bryan from Management is saying I was supposed to cancel in writing within 3days. When I spoke to Quan telling him about my injury,which was in that 3day period, Quan should have told me that but he didn't, I'm 53yrs old and I feel like I was being taken advantage of for my $269. That business is a #RIPOFF They know I knew nothing about the kickboxing membership, I was new to all this. Then I called Quan at the Jenkintown facility, he was rude and short with me. l would NEVER RECOMMEND THIS BUSINESS TO ANYONE. I love kickboxing saved my life. I suffered from PTSD after being assaulted. Learning self defense & learning how to accumulate back into society happened due to I love kickboxing. Have you ever found something you didn't even know you were missing?! It wasn't until I decided to try kickboxing at ILKB Jenkintown that I truly felt the significance of taking a class with other people and having the support of knowledgeable, caring, enthusiastic instructors. There's so many benefits to taking classes here from getting fit to gaining confidence to meeting awesome people and forming not only support systems but friendships. I've found the studio to be my safe space, where I can turn off outside distractions, maybe even leave frustrations at the door or even leave them behind upon departure. Though I've had a wonderful experience, drawbacks for some might be the membership fees, but there are different packages to accommodate people, and I'm glad I chose to invest in myself and feel it's well worth it. Also, there is no shower available at the studio, but if I'm honest, it doesn't bother me because I've always been leery about taking showers in public facilities. The studio, does, however keep toiletries on hand for the members (I can only attest to what's in the women's restroom) such as feminine products, dry shampoo, body spray and spray-on deodorant. Some people may say their schedule simply doesn't allow them to get to a class, but there are quite a few classes offered seven days a week. I actually started off just doing one class a week and went to taking four classes a week within a couple of months. Lastly, the pictures you see of these chiseled men and women on advertisements may make you intimidated or apprehensive, but whatever your age, size or goal may be, the instructors will work with you to make it a reality. I've been a member of ILKB Jenkintown for nearly two years, and I'm very happy with my progress. I hope to see you in one of the classes in the near future . read more

MONEY comes before HUMANS. ~I would give them zero stars If I could~ My experience here was very short lived and a mix of emotions. Upon walking in to sign up for classes/membership, the energy in the room was incredible. I was ready to jump into a class right then and there (which days a lot because I don't enjoy working out) but the timing was off because I was headed on vacation soon after so they decided to start my membership afterwards I returned (July 19th) which I was thankful for. Almost immediately, I found out my partner was in the beginnings of a very scary and expensive legal situation and realized there was no way for me to afford this at the time. I emailed (August 18th) and requested to cancel my membership before I was charged for the next month. I explained the situation and received absolutely zero grace or empathy. I was simply told I needed 30 days notice in order to cancel and was charged before I even got a response from them denying me. I fully understand and respect policy, but I was never informed that I needed 30 days notice and had I been informed, I would've needed to cancel my membership on the day I was billed for the first month. The lack of understanding was pretty outstanding considering how excited I was to start working out here and fully intended on returning once my partners trial in court was complete. The fact that they chose to capitalize on the most challenging time in my life came off so gross to me and I will be sure to tell everyone I know that this place values money farrrrr more than they value people. read more

I was looking to for a new kind of workout and after seeing the groupon offer for ILK, I figured it was worth a shot. In all fairness, getting someone on the phone at this particular location is iffy, like other reviewers have mentioned, but after the initial class, I didn't have any reason to call. I just show up and get ready to sweat. I didn't quite know what to expect but much to my relief, it wasn't an hour of kicking small saplings to make micro-fractures in my shins which will then heal and make my legs harder and more deadly. We are given an intense (as intense as you make it) 15 minute warm up of body weight exercises (squats, burpees,lunges, pushups, etc) and then its on to beating on the heavy bags for 6, 3 minute rounds. The partner work is a quick drill of punches and then you're out the door. It would be great if they had showers at this location so I could work out and then head straight to work, however, for what it is, I enjoy myself! And a warning to any legless, armless completely stationary attackers out there, if you dare try to start some mess with me, be prepared to receive the beating of your life! read more

I signed up on Facebook ad it was around Thanksgiving I got a email right away I waited a couple of days later and called got Greg on the phone he was very polite I set up a class had to call back a couple of times to reschedule with no problem then Greg text me and reminded me my new class I got their late no problem Sara was so nice she got me signed up gave me my gloves showed me the locker room and I was so scared by me having knee problems and my other problems she modified everything for me the people where so friendly I really enjoyed my self can't wait until the next class. This review has nothing to do with the actual class. I signed up to try this as a birthday gift to myself. I have worked in the fitness business about 35 years..way before it was a thing. The ad posted promised pink gloves with the workout package . I get there...no pink gloves, just a avalanche of excuses. It really wasn't even about the gloves. I was told by staff that I could go to another location which was at least another 45 minutes from Jenkintown. Could they have maybe had someone in their organization trot over a few pairs of pink gloves ( WHICH WAS PART OF THE OFFER) for customers who wanted them? The attitude is take it or leave it. Do the workout and stfu. I left and went to another already widely successful fitness location and completed my workout. Hell, I can get a workout right outside my front door. Worst customer service experience I have had in a long time. I was finally offered a refund after much back and forth..which I readily accepted and eventually received several days, phone calls and emails later... Good Luck people. read more

I've been a member at Jenkintown for 5 months now and I love it! Every class is a whole body workout. I was frustrated in the beginning because my scale wasn't moving but my clothes were getting loose and I knew it was because I was burning fat and gaining muscle. This was without changing my awful diet! Now with my resolution of eating healthier and continuing my classes here my results are showing faster and my efforts paying off. The staff here is so motivating! I recommend their heart rate monitors, they can see in real time how hard you're working and tell you when you can really push yourself harder. They are welcoming to all new members, and even the members are great! It's truly a judgement free zone! I'll be renewing for sure! read more

I had been looking for a kickboxing class in my area for months, when I heard about this place in October I looked them up and signed up for the trial right away. The first class was tough (well, really the 15-minute warm-up) but at the end it's such a great workout. The classes are full of energy and a lot of fun. The group of instructors is small but I like that; you can get to know the people coaching you and over time, they you. The instructors provide feedback on form and help to motivate you to push yourself (within your limits). It also helps that the music is always on point (punching the bag on a good beat). I am addicted to attending classes at iLoveKickboxing. The instructors are so motivating and extremely helpful. I was a bit intimidated going to my first class but after the first minute, I felt like I was a part of the "family." The gym is very clean and they make sure to sanitize in between each class. In all fairness, I would really rate this kickboxing gym 2.5 out of 5 stars. While the class itself is awesome, they are IMPOSSIBLE to get in touch with. My friend and I signed up for the five class trial. The welcome email says to call to sign up for a class, as they do not have online signups. We have called countless times, including left voicemails, and no one has answered, nor returned my call. Correction, someone answered once, in which I was able to sign up for a class. But... I'd like to use the four remaining classes I have which is proving impossible to do. It's amazing, for a company/gym that would like to charge between $120-$150 per month for services, I expect communication and accessibility to be a given. My experience in these two arenas has been extremely sub-par. Like I said, the class itself is great. However, communication is half the battle and I would be remiss to say I was not disappointed. read more

i love it!! its a great place to sweat and work out. the hour is as intense and you want to make it, i choose to give it my all. the employees are enthusiastic and encouraging. i was looking for a new fun workout that pushes me and thats exactly what i got. its a small business and not perfect, but if you are there to get a work out, it is just exactly that, a great work out. I could never get myself to stick to a good workout routine until I tried iLoveKickboxing and now I go atleast 3 days a week and I absolutely love it! The trainers are absolutely wonderful and they push you and motivate you to accomplish your goals. I have gained so much confidence in myself that I never knew I had before. After my gym closed May 1st I was in search for something new. I decided to do a 6 week I Love Kickboxing challenge at the Jenkintown, PA. location. For 6 weeks I had to come 3 times per week and meet a weight/body fat goal. In addition, to start you give up 499.00 as a deposit. If you meet your goal the 6 weeks of classes are free and you get a refund. My initial thought was this is a great incentive to be more consistent right?... WRONG! I successfully met my goal June 16 and when asked when I should expect my refund I got the run around. I call multiple times and I'm told the manager isn't here, I'm not sure when she's returning. Finally when I call to just speak with an employee I was given attitude by one staff member in particular named Grey. She cuts me off as I'm sharing my concerns and tells me "I CAN'T HELP YOU!". She then says contact the owner (who's rarely there and barely responses to emails). So today, 8 weeks later, I come in to speak with someone in person and who do I see? Grey! Again, I'm spoken to with sarcasm and total attitude. And get this, she acts like she doesn't even know me, asking me multiple times "what's your name?"I answer and simply ask for a copy of my contract, which I was never given upon signing up. Rather than happily providing it she goes on a rant about how she's human and how she probably won't be able to find it. Now, this sounds pretty convenient. Who cops a plea without opening the binder first to check? She continues with her defensive comments "You'll probably have to contact the owner", "It's probably going to take awhile to find", "If you have questions about your refund contact Sara". She even goes as far as asking me to step away from the counter. Keep in mind, I'm completely calm and not being combative. She goes on and on about the information in the binder being private. So I calmly sit, because you know why give her a reason not to give me my contract? She proceeds to move her computer screen over to avoid eye contact with me. At this point I'm boiling over because now she's treating me like I'm a terrorist! After a few minutes she finds my contract and reluctantly hands it over. Needless to say I will be moving forward with my claim because at this point I don't trust #ILKB at all!!! Sad to say I actually enjoyed the classes and almost got a membership. But I will not spend money anywhere I'm not valued or respected! read more

When I signed up for ILKB 3 weeks ago, I had no idea that it would be life-changing, and not just because I can now do burpees! I look forward to driving from Germantown to Jenkintown at 515am for a 6am class, miss it on the days I can't take class, and can't wait til I can do more than 3 sessions/wk. The teachers are not only incredibly supportive and free of judgement, but they sincerely want each member to succeed, for themselves. At the first few sessions, I had to laugh at myself for what I couldn't do but found the more seasoned members truly supportive too, and inspiring. Each teacher with whom I've had class has their own way of teaching--and musical tastes and humor-- and so I've been able to pick up important techniques from each of them. Before moving to Philadelphia, I was living in Hawai'i and was part of a paddling team. I moved to Philadelphia in 2016 and have not been able to find a group of people that I consider my fitness family until I met the people at iLoveKickboxing. Initially, I was scared to try kickboxing, the name just sounded intimidating, but I soon learned that you go at your own pace and everyone there is helping you and guiding you to become a stronger person. Everyone welcomed me in and have been so encouraging since day 1. It doesn't matter who the instructor of the class is that day, they all have words of inspiration and encouragement to keep me going and fighting to meet my fitness goals. They are always there to help you, talk to you, and answer any questions without judgment. I never looked forward to going to the gym, but I did, just to stay in shape. Now, kickboxing class is the highlight of my day and I love the feeling after class because I know I got an extremely good whole body work out.
