Decided to stop by some card collector stores in Ottawa over the weekend to see what's up!…read more This was my first stop! This is the mecca for collectors ! It's pretty spacious and holds tons and tons of wide range sports memorabilia. It was very busy in here and was pretty difficult to get some service as there was only 2 guys working. The high end hockey cards have it's own room / section in the back corner. We had to ask to find it. It was really fun and exciting like a kid in the candy store! Service was great just maybe a bit long as they were taking care of other people. However, they were really nice and kind. Prices: a bit too high .. I mean yes they gotta pay for rent and staff but still .. the cards were 10-30% more than the market value a bit hefty for me. They seem willing to negotiate if you ask them but it was still super pricey for certain things. Overall, it's a very nice and clean place lot's of items to discover have a look if you're into that kind of place like I am hihi Cheers

We were having dinner next door…read moreat Phu-Yen when my husband spotted it on the way into the restaurant, so we popped in after dinner. It looked like they were having some sort of boardgame playing event with kids when we were there. They had tables set up and an employee was explaining the rules of some game. We browsed quickly, but from what we saw they had a good selection of board games. I saw Dix-it, Ticket to Ride, various versions of Fluxx, various versions of Munchkin and other cool games. Prices were comparable to other game stores. In addition to board games, they also had videogames, including older stuff like original Nintendo and Gameboy! They had some figurines and also lots of different types of dice. Since staff seemed to be busy with the event, we were left to our own devices to browse, which I prefer anyway. They did thank us for coming in when we left though and they seemed friendly. It's a cool store for games if you're in Kanata North. It's in a strip mall with lots of parking.

When we walked in at around 6:30pm on a weeknight, the entire store was deserted but there was a tournament of some sort going on. Te same thing happened the last time we came. I'm all about having tournaments, but these instances majorly hindered the business. The first time we went in there was literally no staff at the counter. Even after waiting, no one ever came and no one asked us if we needed help. The second time we came, there was someone behind the counter, but when we asked for help he said "I can't help you, I don't work here," in an incredibly rude tone. I couldn't believe this! We then wandered around looking for the board game we were on the hunt for, and still, no one seemed to be available to help us. On our way out the door, someone told us to "have a good night." When we asked him if he actually worked there, he said yes and asked if he could help us. He told is he had the game we were looking for, but not the version we wanted because "no one carries it anymore." (Note: we found it down the street at Mastermind Toys - ha!) Unless you enjoy the tournaments they host here, I would avoid this place. That is, unless you check their schedule and make sure not to go during one of their events.

Caro (one of the owners) made the booking process really easy and helped with getting an event liquor license so the adults could have a couple drinks. She also went along with the surprise planning and gave my partner and I a tour of the facility so he'd walk into the party room unaware. Our animateur (game host), "FM", was a lot of fun - he started us off with a variety of group games so everyone could comfortable with one another and warmed up for some more challenging games. We were allowed to bring in snacks and drinks, and the venue provided coffee and tea for us. The boat room was really cool inside - the whole store is well decorated - and provided privacy from other patrons. In addition, the cost was totally reasonable compared to other area game venues I've been to in the past. Thank you L'as des jeux for making my partner's 30th a huge success!

Do not buy from them…read more I pre-ordered the collectible alternate art cover of the D&D Player's Handbook 2024 from them. And even paid extra for their Shipping Protection. When the product arrived, they had not padded the sides of the box, only the top and the bottom. The bottom right corner of the cover and some of the pages were damaged and bent. They are saying it's cosmetic and won't even send an undamaged copy (I'm not even asking for a refund). Absolutely awful experience.

Friendly, knowledgeable and helpful staff. Of special note for the model train community is their train expert who does repairs, upgrades and general maintenance at reasonable rates. Glad to have this store in our city.

Those products aren't my particular area of expertise so I can't comment on their specifics. I do know, however, that they have a good selection of tools and scenery items available if you're into tabletop gaming. Basically every hobby tool you could need, they have, as well as an okay selection of paint as well (they are missing some of the ultra-high quality acrylic brands used for wargames, e.g. p3, vgc, citadel). I went in looking specifically for some terrain items from the Woodland Scenics brand and they have a ton of those in stock. Their prices for those items (flock, bushes, etc.) are also very good as well, beating both Amazon and Wal-Mart. There's also a bunch of other items in the store (puzzles, magazines, other collectibles) that I didn't really pay close attention to. Overall, it looks like a great place to go for a wide selection of general hobby supplies.
