I'd been struggling with post concussion symptoms (light sensitivity, headaches, difficulty reading, mood, etc) for almost 3 years and had tried SO MANY THERAPIES. I hit my head against a granite counter top a year ago and have been dizzy with vision issues ever since. I came to this clinic because physical therapy, chiropractics and cranio sacral therapy all didn't help and these guys specialize in neurological brain issues. The clinic is filled with very educated and very passionate practitioners and staff. Dr. Perman (whose background education includes both doing research at Harvard, and finishing functional neurology programs in San Francisco early and with honors) got me, within a week, to a point where I can stand with my eyes closed and not tip over, as well as being able to read what I'm writing without it being blurry. Dr. Harcourt, whom I believe is a low profile genius, took a look at my hormone tests and got me on DHEA and Pregnenolone that is making me feel less stressed and better overall. I'd gone to a holistic MD with those same test results and they gave me bio-identical pregnenolone and estrogen hormones that had my blood pressure sky rocketing and my body breaking out in rashes. You don't spend a lot of time with Dr. Harcourt, but what he says is pretty golden, so you feel lucky to have him give his opinions. Then there is Jenny who lights up the room welcoming you and Rachel who does marketing and finance. Somehow, Rachel manages to make you feel cared for and connected to her as a real person, even though she is running ragged as they are soon opening a second clinic in Beverly Hills. Katie helps the practitioners and cares enough to make things right. I was initially afraid of this clinic. What if they were just slick sales people who would take my money and then do zip? Not the case. They are real. They are smart and passionate and care. That said, you don't undo head trauma with one week- I still have to do exercises, but their package includes follow up visits when I'm in that stage too. I am not fully healed yet, it has been just a bit past my one week intensive treatment, but I am better, and I believe I will be healed. I truly like them all. (including the warm, sharp, and funny Dr, who gives the initiation, Dr. Terrano. I hear that he is amazing with treatments too). read more

I don't regularly go to the chiropractor or doctor, and I very much have a "That won't happen to me" mentality. Well it did happen to me. I fell down the stairs, and afterward I couldn't move my head one way or the other. The pain was so intense that I called Imagine X the day of the incident with little hope that they'd be able to get me in, but with no idea what I'd do if they couldn't. Jenny and staff went out of their way to make sure I was treated that day, and I walked out 70 percent better. The rest took time, but upon leaving the office I was able to drive, walk briskly without becoming nauseated and turn my head (all simple tasks that I couldn't perform pre-visit). Fraud, greed and callousness. I signed up for a series of sessions with Dr. Adam. His secretary, Mallory, told me they took Blue Shield. Three months later I realized I had not received my reimbursement from Blue Shield. I called them and found out that Mallory had only bothered to submit claims for one out of my sixteen sessions. Besides that, the adjustments were not covered -- something Mallory did not bother to tell me, even though the adjustments were 90% of the cost. When I told Mallory I did not think I should have to pay my remaining balance when they did not even bother to submit the claims or tell me honestly about the lack of insurance coverage, ImagineX sold my account to an aggressive collections agency who ended up taking me to court, and who are now garnishing my wages. After tacking on exorbitant court fees and interest, I am now having to pay 25% of my wages to this collections agency for the foreseeable future. The Harcourts like to promote a reputation for themselves of caring about their patients, but actually they only care about their money. read more

(Long but thorough, short version is: this office is amazing and worth it.) Imagine X has been a wonderful experience for me. I would consider my pain and needs at a moderate level, fluctuating to slightly severe at times and slightly mild at other times. I have been seeing these doctors for shoulder pain from years of volleyball, and for some lower back pain from various sports related impacts. Within a month my shoulder and back pain decreased. About 2 months later I began playing volleyball again and it felt like I had a new shoulder. The gazing exercises help with neurological memory and I have noticed a difference in my reaction time. I wasn't even trying to see them for an eye tracking issue, but Dr. Harcourt noticed it and the gazing exercises have improved that condition in just a few weeks. My right eye is less wander-y, which I am very thankful for because I figured it was a lost cause and thus never sought help with it. From the beginning consultation they were upfront with me about whether or not I was a good candidate. They mentioned the reasons why I needed more than just physical therapy. Along with many Santa Barbarians, I am also health-conscious. I have researched recovery based nutrition, and anti-inflammatory diets. I was so impressed by Dr. Harcourt's holistic approach to my healing including dietary needs, how to sleep, and posture overall. Their motto of having "An attitude of gratitude" was something about this office that gained my trust right from the start. The Imagine X team are all very intelligent people, passionate about their work, and every person in that office is dedicated to ongoing learning and teaching, especially Dr. Harcourt who spends his weekends teaching and attending seminars online. The Imagine X office is an environment that I look forward to engaging with. Not only are they in a beautiful location, but their overall ambiance is pleasant, including the staff whom have become my friends as well as my doctors. If I ever experience new traumas I know where I'll be going for my treatment. The one difficulty I experienced is payment. I'm by no financial means a wealthy person, but my health is something I value most. I was born an athlete and practicing that talent is one of my purposes in life, thus I value my athletic abilities and found the cost to be a valid investment. In a perfect world American insurance would cover all health related needs whether or not they're holistic, a specialist, or what have you. I would be extremely careful before signing up with them. The treatment didn't work for our son, and we felt this was not something they wanted to hear. Not only did the treatment not work, but we felt there was no room for discussion. Our son is a UCSB student. He had his first sports concussion when he was 18, and has suffered a string of other ones since then. His last one left him with intense fatigue, and headaches. We too found this clinic online, and since we are from the San Francisco Bay area, we couldn't use our usual network of recommendations. Our chiropractors sent us mixed signals warning us against the cost and Dr Harcourt's promises of success. Since our son is a UCSB student, close to SB, we decided to go for it. Being impacted by a concussion is very distressing, and it is easy to make a rush decision, and we definitely regret this one! First flag : they are quick at selling their Yelp Reviews. Second flag: they have you pay beforehand for a full week of treatment. It is a hefty sum - around $5000, out of network if you have Kaiser or Sutter Health Plus. Chiropractors we have here in the bay area have you pay by the session. To this you have to add the cost to stay at a hotel nearby, since being in a car is discouraged, and our son had motion sickness. Third flag: the staff is very young, it seems it is their first job for most. Is it easier for Dr Harcourt to surround himself with young, malleable partners? When we expressed doubts over the results, it seemed the chiropractor assigned to us took it personally and got angry. She quickly produced stats that showed an improvement. Sadly, the reality was still there: our son may have tried hard during the tests, but couldn't function outside of them. We needed her to sign papers for the Disability Department at UCSB. She wrote that he would be fit to resume classes whithin 2 weeks, which meant he would have to study for his finals. This added an unnecessary layer of stress, as we were within days of the finals. We went back asking for 'more time', but she didn't change her prognostic. Luckily, the counselor in charge of Traumatic Brain Injuries at UCSB is experienced and gave our son all the time needed to recover. Not only was our son not able to attend classes within 2 weeks, but 2 months later, he is still not fit to attend the next quarter. He is now back in the Bay area, and getting services through Kaiser (Stanford would be so much better). We have more out of pocket expenses again for crani-sacral therapy, supplements. We definitely lost money which could have been better spent for other treatments. read more

Over the past decade, I have suffered from some recurring shoulder pain and numbness in my left hand. Thanks to Dr. Adam, I've been swimming and paddling around pain free and have significantly less numbness! Out of desperation due to neck pain and migraine headaches from injuries, I stumbled across the Imagine X website. I realized that this was the best office to seek treatment for my injuries and symptoms. I've received treatment from Dr. Harcourt, Dr. Dan (BH), and Dr. Terrano. This office has provided the best chiropractic treatment for my injuries and conditions. I no longer feel 10 grade level pains in my neck and head, and visit the office for fine tuning and targeting of ailments at a granular level. I have great insurance, and this office is out of my network, however, I feel that it is well worth getting treatment from Dr. Harcourt's office. From the other reviews, it seems like this might not be a bad place to get care IF you have lots of money to spend and don't mind people talking around questions rather than getting straight answers. For me that does not engender trust or give me the sense that this is a place I want to spend my money. I am a senior who has had lifelong migraines, sometimes chronic and I was excited to find their website. They even suggest that they bill Medicare. Unfortunately, when I called and tried to find out simple information to simple questions to figure out whether there was a way financially to go there for care, I couldn't get answers which would allow me to determine that like I have from every other neurology practice I contacted. I totally understand that each patient is different and that there would likely be a customized protocol. However, getting an Idea of the range of the amount Medicare would of their very pricey programs, was not something I could get a straightforward answer to, notwithstanding their claim of migraines being a speciality that they deal with all the time. I was told I had to come in for the expensive original consult, which of course, is not covered at all by medicare. Then having spent that money, which with my limited finances I'd have to borrow, I would finally be given a sense of what any care would cost and maybe given information of what medicare could cover. Why the lack of transparency? Why not give a range of treatment programs and range of what medicare would typically cover? Not everyone has the money to spend at a costly consult only to find out if treatments would be closer to the $25 co-pay at other neurology offices or closer to other expensive "innovative" treatments at centers which can cost $50,000. Hard to think of entrusting my health to people who can't even be honest and straightforward with reasonable questions until they have my money in hand for a consult which could be a waste of time and money for all concerned. If your lucky enough for finances to not be an issue, more power to you and maybe you don't have to care about how honest and straightforward this medical office is. read more

Dr. B is wonderful. I have struggled with neck pain pretty consistently for the past 4 years. Review of a happy out-of-town patient! Much more energy and much less headaches within weeks! I have been suffering from migraines my whole life. I have been experiencing migraines very regularly together with almost daily tension headaches. A friend recommended me Dr. Adam. Jenny from Imagine X contacted me the very next day and a few days later I had a phone talk with Dr. Adam about my health issues and possible treatment options for me. I decided to schedule the first appointment for the initial examination. The first appointment went very well. Dr. Adam was very understanding and knowledgeable about the topic of migraines and took his time to perform the evaluation and to explain everything in detail. After this visit I learned how to do specific neurological eye exercises, received a nutritional plan specific to my health needs and supplies for the hormonal saliva testing to be performed at home. I immediately started following the recommendations and was delighted to find that I had much more energy after just 2 weeks of my home treatment plan. I became much more energetic and did not have the urge to nap during the day anymore! Yay! :) I took some time to study the information and, after giving it some serious thought, I scheduled a 3X5 treatment (3 appointments for 5 days straight) for one whole week in September. As I lived in Camarillo at that time, I decided to stay with a friend in Santa Barbara for the whole week and walk to the Imagine X office every day and spent most of the time on State Street resting, meditating and walking around. Met some great people on State Street too :) The 3x5 appointments consisted of neurological adjusting of my spine, neck, and extremities by Dr. Adam, followed by electrostimulation and eye exercises with Carly. First two days of the treatment I had very bad headaches by the end of the day and was really tired. (Hot bath at home helped a lot!) To my surprise, by the end of the treatment week I started feeling much better and was very energetic with almost no headaches even though the intensity of the treatment increased. Awesome! I'm a Olympic track and field athlete training in Santa Barbara and I don't know how its possible that I didn't cross paths with Dr. Adam sooner. Dr. Adam is very knowledgable and I was really impressed by his findings after my initial exam. He was able to pick up on the insufficiencies I had with my eyes and body movements, which have hindered my performances on the track. After doing the exercises he prescribed I have seen improvements in my events. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Each time I come in I'm excited to see what new activities they have for me to do. I've never gone through this type of cognitive training, but now I understand, especially in my field, how important it is to gain a step on your competition. read more

I'm so happy that I found Dr. Josh and all of the staff! I suffered from Vertigo and terrible headaches. I've had many issues over the years due to neck and head injuries. I'm SO glad I went here and I owe Adam a lot! He's extremely knowledgeable and helpful while also being honest about the things he's not sure about. I had two herniated discs that weren't visible on an X-ray and he was very careful and honest about not knowing exactly what it was and he referred me to get an MRI. A week later I had emergency surgery on the discs. A lot of chiropractors might have had a giant ego and tried to fix it themselves, which could have really hurt my situation. Adam was honest and helpful, he knew what he knew (which is a lot) and referred me for other help when he wasn't sure. Thank you Adam!! Any office, especially a doctor's office, that calls me to tell me the Dr. is running late, is a 10 in my book. This was the first experience I had with Dr. Adam. Not only did that set the positive tone for me but the quick progress and improvement I got from Dr. Adam's magic has made me a believer. I originally went to Dr. Adam with terrible TMJ, I could barely open my mouth. After the 2nd appointment, I had much more mobility and after the 4 appt. I felt cured. I would highly recommend the intensive program at Imagine X for post-concussion recovery because after one week of treatments I experienced significant relief of my symtoms. I have a history of multiple concussions, but this most recent one was the most severe. When I arrived at Imagine X, I had been experiencing insomnia for over a month, increased anxiety, and a combination of vestibular and motor symptoms. As a physical therapist myself, I was so impressed with Dr. Harcourt and Dr. Silvers' knowledge and clinical assessment of my condition. Dr Adam Harcourt literally saved my LIFE and my SANITY. After 6 months of pursuing the medical industry for treatment from 2 separate concussions within 2 1/2 months, resulting in sleeplessness, explosive headaches beyond anything I could give words to, as well as other symptoms I won't go into. I had been waiting 4 months to get into see the Neurologist, at which time I was told I had at least 6-12 months more of headaches to live with, which left me in tears and suicidal for the first time in my 56 yrs of life, knowing I could not stand one more week, let alone 6-12 months of this painful life. I had been referred to Dr Adam by my wonderful Chiropractors at Genuine Chiropractic and had made an appointment to see Dr Adam the same day immediately after seeing the Neurologist (Dr Adam wanted me to pursue all medical aspects first and be cleared, very professional). As I mentioned. I walked in hopeless and in tears. Dr Adam spent 90 minutes with me and without going into it all, gave me HOPE, kindness and respect, he also gave me a few eye exercises to start right away and told me to come back in 3 days for my treatment plan. While leaving I asked if by chance they had a cancellation if it would be possible to come in sooner, which Mallory called me the next morning and fit me in that very same day. Needless to say, I have sang Dr Adam's praise from that day on, he and his staff not only treated me like family, but my headaches were gone in 2 weeks. GONE not better, GONE... I continued to do what was suggested while traveling (I travel 2-4 wks per month and I now live full time in Oregon) and whenever my headaches become an issue again I simply start the eye exercises up again and it works. Pretty amazing is what I have to say! I have suffered from some debilitating neurological issues after a bad lumbar puncture in 2015. Every doctor I have seen told me to either wait and see what happens or embrace the new me--- that was unsatisfactory. Two friends begged me to see Dr. Adam so I finally agreed to give it a shot. I did the intensive plan and by the third day, I could already really notice a huge difference. I started seeing him on my walker and I was off of it almost immediately. I really like Adam and his team and he has good yelp reviews for a reason. That said, I think I'm the one person he couldn't cure. I came in with severe biweekly migraines and low grade daily headaches. I spent a year going to Imagine X, first with very good results, but after a couple of months my migraines returned. Adam kept telling me I needed to hang in there to see results, but after a certain point i realized it just wasn't working. I wish that Adam would have admitted that his treatment wasn't right for me instead of stringing me along and giving me false hope. (When you're in pain you will believe anything!) I'm sure it was hard for Adam to see his techniques work on everyone except for me, but I felt like he got impatient and ignored me after seeing I wasn't improving. Ultimately I left without complaining, but if I could get that year and all of the money I spent back I would. My advice: try it for three months, it's definitely worth a shot, but don't stick around if it doesn't work. And for any migraine sufferers out there who aren't seeing results, try Botox. Dr. Adam's wife, Mallory is always greeting clients as well and you definitely can tell the positive atmosphere of the entire office. Dr. Adam takes his time with each patient and honest cares for their overall well-being. He truly is not a doctor who just grabs patient after patient, he truly wants to hear your symptoms and will do anything in his power to help you feel better. Dr. Adam is dedicated to improving overall health. I first met him at Jodi House Brain Injury Support Center, where he volunteers his time to lead a men's support group and monthly brain health talk. I have suffered from migraine headaches for many years, but with Dr. Adam's eye movement exercises and treatment therapy I have been able to stop expensive medication and live pain free. After injuring my back years ago (l5/s1) and getting recent surgery, I have never felt more confident in a doctor other than Dr.Adam. Being an ex-baseball player I've seen numerous doctors and different practices, and no one has ever taken the time to explain and work on my problems like he. As a new runner in my late 50's, I have to be careful so that I don't get stuck having to take time off for a variety of minor injuries. I met Dr. Adam after I completed the Chardonnay 10 miler earlier this year, and signed up for his treatment plan. And it is going great! My initial complaint is usually aggravated by running, but last Friday I went out for a 10 mile run early on the 4th of July, and afterwards I was so surprised to feel - nothing! As other aches and pains come to my attention, Dr. Adam has taken the time to help with each one! So I feel better than ever, and my posture is improving as I get stronger. Not only did I finally break under 26 minutes at the Nite Moves 5K (Dr. Adam is out there running it now, too!) but my horseback riding has improved, too - I ride 50 and 100 mile races. I no longer find myself leaning on my knuckles most of the way - a very bad habit - and the tightness in my back is improving. Dr. Adam provides some simple exercises to help strengthen the body - and I would recommend doing them!! It is amazing how parts of your body (muscles) shut down, and you don't even know it. I feel like I am stronger (and feel younger) than ever!! It is good to get care to truly optimize your body and to help you accomplish your goals feeling good all the way. read more
